THE WORST PLACE EVER. This place has been nothing but a nightmare for the people who actually live around it. They torment the surrounding neighborhood nonstop, and it honestly feels like they've bought out City Hall because they get away with absolutely everything. They start cutting the grass at 6-7 AM, waking everyone up and causing constant noise and insomnia. And the "maintenance" of the course? It's basically nonexistent -- they just run the mowers and call it upkeep. Meanwhile, golf balls are constantly flying into our neighborhood, breaking windshields and windows like it's no big deal. The people who live here are the ones paying the price for their negligence. If you're thinking about coming here, please don't. Maybe if people stop supporting this place, they'll finally be forced to shut down and get out of our lives. Answer to the business wanting me to contact them: I'm not sure what there is to "discuss" at this point. For over a year I have repeatedly contacted you asking that grass cutting not begin at sunrise so that nearby residents can have the chance to sleep. I have called multiple times, stopped by to speak with the owner, and formal complaints and legal actions have already been filed -- yet nothing has changed. This is a residential area with many people who work demanding schedules, including nurses at John Muir Hospital who work night shifts and need to sleep during the morning hours. We also have elderly residents, cancer patients, and families who simply want to enjoy their homes -- especially during the summer when we would like to sleep with our windows open without being woken at dawn by loud machinery. I have lived here my entire life, and the current situation is unacceptable. If decisions were made through lobbying or special allowances to permit these practices, I will absolutely pursue every avenue available to challenge them. Additionally, there have been multiple dangerous incidents where golf balls have been hit far outside the course area and have landed on or near my balcony while I was outside. This is not only disruptive but potentially dangerous. This situation has been ongoing for far too long. The community deserves reasonable quiet hours and basic safety in our own homes. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed. read more

Golf Course was well maintained. Pace of play went smoothly. Price of cart rental a little steep.

Last minute decision to play a quick 9 before the rain came. Did the online reservation and paid with the friendly Pro Shop attendant when I arrived. Carts were nice and clean. No wait with this weather. Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape. Couple of greens were dinged up with folks who need to fix their pitch marks...Come on folks... finished in about 90 minutes... we play here often and usually have to wait but today was quick. Diablo Hills golf course schedules tee times 7 and 8 minutes apart. Be prepared to spend your day waiting for 2 or more groups in front of you. It takes longer than 7 or 8 minutes to tee off and play any hole including par threes. Price is same as nearby full length 18 hole courses. read more

I've been playing here for years and it seems every year the green fees go up. They said it was for "maintenance" but the sand (which is mostly brown dirt) has not been fixed. Boundary oaks costs $2 more for twilight and you're getting a better course PLUS 9 more holes. And don't get me started on pace of play... 9 holes in 3 1/2 hours should not be happening. Also please hire new staff. The older gentleman who work the pro shop are rude and condescending. It's not a country club. read more

I've played this course for 6 years, and today was the worst shape I've ever seen it. Tee boxes and greens were sandy and a mess. Many fairways and greens were sloppy wet (in September). I'm guessing they are having irrigation issues. read more

My grandma had her 90th birthday here staff was nice and checked on us regularly but when it came time to leave not only did they not let us take any food home (mind you there was half a prime rib and more then half of each tray left) they were so rude about it. The lady in charge said it was in the contract that after 2 hours of the food being out that they had to throw it away. MAKE AND ANNOUNCEMENT!! Honestly I don't believe that they threw it away. Diablo Hills changed their policy for kids using youth on course to play. They now require an 18 year old to pay full price for a tee time if the other teenagers want to play. No other course in the area requires this. The reason half these kids like golf is because they can afford it using youth on course. plus half the 15/16 years olds don't hang out with 18 years olds. There a lot of teens that can no longer play there which is unfortunate and disappointing. read more

It's sad Diablo Hills has really down in quality the last few years. Charging now on Twilight $22/person, and Cart fees are now charged by rider... Really? Having two people in the cart doesn't affect the cart or the round! In fact, it only speeds things up. 3 hours for 9 holes on the weekend is ridiculous. Why? Because they overbook, allow groups of 5 and 6, then the Marshal comes by and tells you to hurry up with a twosome. Fairways are in poor shape, Tee boxes are chewed up and the sand appears to have not been changed in quite some time. I understand they need to pay off newer golf carts and the debt owed on the Restaurant, but please, bring back the experience for the average golfer. read more

Their tee times are 7 minutes apart. This would normally be fine if all of the golfers were pros. So we've had so many times where golfers get frustrated with the delays that they start hitting into other golfers. Fairways are not great. The greens are in horrible condition. The sand is not in good condition either. They are now charging $34.00 for twilight carts. It was hard to find decent grass on the tee box. read more

However today I didn't like that they charge both my kids 10 and 6yrs old for a rider cart fee of $17 not even discounted?? i understand if they charge my 10 yr old as he will be playing with us but the 6 yrs old??? Called a week ahead for a reservation and was told I had a spot. Showed up today and they said I had no reservation. Guy at the front desk said he couldn't do anything and wouldn't help figure out a solution. Left disappointed with a bad experience. Would never recommend a his place again. read more

Had a bad experience with a very rude worker 3/18/25...early morning tee time, pro shop tells me take my time, nobody else playin. Playing two balls, stopped by worker. Basically tells me he doesn't want me playing two balls, I say no problem. He then continues to tell me he will kick me out if he sees me playing two balls again. I ask if he would prefer I just leave and he continues to just talk about the two balls. I simply explain I didn't see it being a problem as it was nobody else even playing yet and already acknowledged I would follow the rules but he continues to talk about kicking me out. Simply get a refund and more attitude in the pro shop when trying to explain my experience. Worker that confronted me was ray. read more

We had a baby sprinkle for my daughter in law. There were only 20 of us. They put us in a small space to the right of the main sitting area and it was perfect for our little group. We all ordered brunch off the menu and everyone enjoyed their meals. They have two beautiful rooms that you can rent but the smallest holds 30 people and that was too large for us. read more

Worst golf small course in the area. Stack people every 4 or 5 minutes apart. No consideration if anybody that knows how to play golf or not play golf. Go with your own Pearl. Today had been up with teenagers that were just joking around the whole time it was terrible and painful. Devil hills doesn't care they just want to get as many people out to make as much money as I can. read more

This course is 9 holes. This is exactly the type of course you want to play after work with your buddies for a quick and fun golf round. This is not a place you come to for a nice experience of real golf. The conditions are god awful here which is fine because the reason you come here isn't for that. However for 9 holes in the worst conditions around. You are expected to pay upwards of 50 dollars!!!! And as low as 30 dollars to walk! Which if it was an 18 hole course values the course around 100 dollars. This puts it up with Poppy Hills, Half moon Bay, and is 2x as expensive as Boundary Oaks or any other nice public course around. The workers here aren't kind at all. My son got ID'd for his youth on course card which he has never had to show. He was even able to use his card down at Spanish Bay and they didn't even ID. I Had NEVER seen that before and it literally doesn't make sense for how low level the golf is. Frankly this course is the opposite of what it should be. The prices are jacked up for no reason, the course quality lacks, and the customer experience especially in the pro shop is extremely poor. DO BETTER read more

Pretty little course and enjoyed the day. Had drinks and food outside. Two dickheads were too 'masculine' to wear required masks at bar indoors, risking the health of the bartenders and waitstaff. Slowest course I've ever played, it took 3.5 hours to get through 9 holes. We walked and when I checked my bank statement the next day I saw that they had charged me for riding. When I called to ask about being refunded for it I was told there was nothing that could be done unless I wanted to come in and get a credit for the next time I played. Seeing as how I don't live in the area and 9 holes took as long as it did I don't see myself ever going back here. HORRIBLE experience overall. read more

I love playing this course. 9 holes and hole 5 can be tricky. They just put in new sand which makes you feel like you are at the beach (a little plus for being stuck in the sand). This new carts have phone charger outlets. I love playing this family run course read more

Got invited to this public course on Thursday. I'm not sure of the character count limitations on yelp, but I am certain that there's not enough space for me to say all the negative things that need to be said about this place so I'll keep it short. We made a reservation over the phone, the individual in the pro shop asked how many people are in our party we told him two and that we only need one cart as we will be sharing the cart. When we get there they then decided to let us know that we cannot use a cart after 4. We asked to speak to the manager as we had only broke the threshold of the time limit by five minutes and had they mentioned on the phone during our reservation booking that no carts are allowed after 4 we would have gone elsewhere. I almost forgot to mention, the reason we needed the cart was because our 80-year-old dad who has a back injury from fighting in Vietnam is unable to walk. They went to get the manager and obviously told him what our complaint was, this is where it gets really good, he came in to the office pretending to be on the phone with someone about what we were about to complain about. This is missrepresentation of services like I've never seen, the employees are idiots and the manager is just a standard 9-5 average Joseph who can't even do this simple job. I assume that he was the first pancake growing up every Saturday. This place is garbage even after they were told that our veteran father in his 80s can't walk they didn't seem to care and kept the dialogue of the ridiculously bullshit excuse going. The managers whole reason was that he doesn't want to go out and get carts late at night, pull your head out of your ass, your a prole , accept it and do your job I don't recommend this dump at all, if you are playing public in Walnut Creek play at Boundary Oaks, much nicer and they train their staff. read more

They pack WAY TOO MANY players on the course, even during the weekdays. It took me 3 hours to play 9 holes. On one hole, there were 4 groups waiting to play. The marshal was useless and disregarded even the most egregious slow play from golfers If you want to have an enjoyable round, do not play here. read more

I would give this a much higher rating as it is a fun little track for a municipal 9. With a little golf etiquette this would be a solid 4 star Biggest problem is pace of play. No marshals and nobody seems to understand they need to keep up with group in front of them. Maybe try not packing course with t-times or have players sign agreements on golf etiquette. What even worst, our waitress gave two other tables straws!!! What the hell?!!! We had to go to the bar and ask for straws. Another waitress came over and asked if we ordered drinks. Great little muni course. However, course gets in pretty rough shape from shear use and people not filling divots. This place would get higher stars from me but unfortunately the last 4 times I've played here it has take 2.5hrs+ longest being 3:15 hrs long. Any golfer knows this is ridiculously slow. Might as well go play 18 at this pace. I wouldn't usually criticize slow pace either except seems that tee times are every 7 minutes which is absurdly tight for a foursome. read more

Having said that, I left one star because my wife and I got harassed by one of the members/ customers who cursed us this morning around 9:30. The guy who works there is cool but the woman will grill you over 7 minutes with a tee time. Only $20 to play but no twilight and you can only play 9 even if the course is wide open late in the day. Course isn't in great shape and the greens are even worse. People come here to get drunk and eat which is fun but this isn't a course for golfers. I love this little course. Actually, it has a 500 yard uphill par 5, so not too little. I've never had a problem getting on even on the weekends. There is a golf club that plays one weeknight so that can be a challenge if you want to get on the course during that time. It's a fantastic course to walk. They often have a marshall drive by selling beer/soda from a cooler, but not all the time. If you're a high handicapper this course will be challenging for sure. Other reviewers were making comparisons to Boundary Oak GC and they are way off base considering the price differences and the very slow rounds you can encounter at Boundary. Diablo Hills is a well-designed, family-run golf course that's far better than other nine hole courses nearby. read more
