Very disappointing experience at Golf Mart. We arrived on Sunday at approximately 4:45 PM because Google showed the store was open until 5:00 PM. Before we could even enter, an employee stopped us at the door and told us they were closing early. We explained that we only wanted to take a quick look around, but he went to ask the manager anyway. Manager John Z. then came to the door and told us the same thing--that we couldn't come in despite it still being within posted business hours. He offered a lame explanation about a power outage the PREVIOUS day and internet issues, but none of that explained why the store was refusing customers 15 minutes before its advertised closing time. How did they stay open from 10am-4:45pm? Yeah, totally not buying that excuse. If the store needed to close early, the hours should have been updated accordingly. Instead, customers were led to believe the store was open, only to be turned away at the door before the posted closing time. It felt like they simply wanted to leave early rather than honor their stated business hours. Very frustrating and not the level of customer service I would expect. read more

I came in here with my boyfriend to get myself a set of Ladies clubs. We went towards the back looking at the full sets and could not find anyone to help me out. They were all helping men or seemed to be uninterested in what I was looking for. We eventually went up to the front to ask for help. The man at the front told us "Well we are kind of busy" and to just find someone in the black shirts to help out. Ended up deciding to leave after heading back to the same section again and was unable to be helped. Visited Golf Mart in Walnut Creek this past weekend and found the set I've been looking for that I had previously seen in the south San Francisco location back in May. First time at this location, and parking was super easy in their lot. The store layout is very clean and easy to navigate. Plenty of selection when it comes to apparel, clubs, and bags. They had like 4 hitting bays with launch monitors. Scott was able to set me up with one while I tried out a few iron shots with the set I was eyeing. After a few swings, I was sold. Working with Scott and Jeremy was a breeze and ended up with a brand new putter as well. While some people like to thrift shop for clothes, I like to do that with golf clubs because the demo and trade-in pricing on clubs are a good way to save money of clubs that you actually want. The 90-day return policy for store credit allows you to take what you buy out and play them for up to 90 days. If you don't like it, you can swap them out for something else. And with golf, the money can always be spent on something golf related. Played my first round with my new set, and love em. Will probably be back to get them re-gripped soon. read more

Came in for the free 2025 Taylormade fitting on a Sunday and got paired with Jacob Levenson who was the TM rep. Off the bat he was very professional and welcoming. We discussed what I came in for and what I was interested in gaining from the fitting. Distance and consistency were key focuses for me. The process was smooth and Jacob had me use his foresight launch monitor and I got to test out the new Qi35 lineup of drivers and fairway woods. I immediately loved the fairway woods and how they performed. I had already been played the Stealth 2 head and the Qi35 was beyond better in so many ways. Jacob let me try out different shafts I was interested in and ultimately fit me into ones that were great for me. I found it very helpful Jacob gave me all the specs I needed to make an informed decision on what clubs to commit to. I picked up the 5W and 7W Qi35s and beyond stoked to play em. He's such a chill guy we even talked more golf and cool experiences he's had fitting folks. I appreciate The Golf Mart employees acknowledging my ferrule on my driver had cracked and they fixed it with some epoxy resin. Free of charge! Talk about great customer service! Definitely one of the best Golf Shops in Contra Costa. The have a great selection of premium golf equipment, as well as nice variety of pre-owned equipment. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful so don't hesitate to ask questions when browsing in the store. Had a bad experience at golf mart in Dublin. The district manager Mike contacted me immediately and apologized for the way I was treated. He made things right and sent me a nice gift card. I needed my two clubs to be resized. I wanted to share the details of my request, but the guy (Daniel) brushed me off and acted like he knew what to do without getting the details from me. I had even brought in my whole set to show what I wanted them to do. Well, I picked them up. One was resized correctly, but the other one only added a grip it was not resized. If Daniel had taken the time with me, and listened, they would've got it right the first time and I wouldn't waste my time having to go back there (if I do). I highly recommend Golf Mart in Walnut Creek. I took my clubs in for an assessment and was debating between tweaking my clubs and upgrading to a new set. I was set up in a bay to try the clubs with no pressure. It's was a difficult decision, but I didn't feel pressured at all to buy the new set. After weighing the pros and cons with Clayton, I decided to go with the new set. Also, while I was there, another customer was being rude to Clayton, but Clayton calmly explained his reasoning and stayed professional the entire time. It took less than 2 weeks to get the shafts & when they called to notify that I could bring my P790s in to have the work done I got my clubs back SAME DAY!! He was very patient with me as I struggled to make any kind of solid contact testing out the clubs. He tweaked my swing and adjusted the club for me even though I was hitting terrible off the mat. I went in with the possibility of buying a new set of irons. Kirabo set me up in a hitting bay and let me swing for as long as I wanted, testing out different shafts, heads, and even a new driver that he knew I didn't want to buy yet still let me hit anyways. I came back a few days later because they had a pre-owned set that worked well for me. Tyler spent a lot of time (propably 2-3 hours) with me over a couple different days working out the numbers on the monitor to make sure my current irons didn't perform better than the set at the store. It was clear that the new set performed better in every category but because they were pre-owned, the grips and length were not what I would normally play. Tyler then removed my old grips and put them on the new irons and even made them the right length...all for free. I couldn't be happier with the staff and management (led by Jason). These guys are just good people. I've gone in The Golf Mart many times to just hang around, check out new irons and drivers, and there has never been a feeling of the staff wanting to get rid of me. The store is huge, they have everything you could want including new clubs, used clubs, bags, grips, travel accessories, shoes, gloves, clothing, rangefinders, practice equipment and SO MUCH MORE. Recently I went in for a driver head that had a slight dent. Without any hassle or attitude, the team grabbed a BRAND NEW head from their shelf and attached it to my shaft. No questions asked. No guilt trip. And they were polite while doing it!! I appreciate these guys. I will be back often for my golf needs and for any maintenance my setup requires. I trust this team. I had stop shopping at golf mart after moving out of the area. I stopped by while I was in the area. Jeremy who was the manager at the store I used to shop at recognized me and said hi to me. I told him that I was I. The market for the new titleist clubs coming out and he gave me his schedule and told me to come back when they were released. I drove an hour and half to the store today and called in to let Jeremy know I was on the way. When I got there he had reserved the clubs I was looking at and helped me out. I've been coming here over a year. Countless grip changes, putter adjustments, and bought a driver and 3 wood. Joe does a great job with any club alterations. He has great attention to detail which is much appreciated. He also happens to have a great sense of humor which is always helpful. From 12 months ago to now, I can tell Adam and Carlo have really turned the ship around. It's a much, much more pleasant experience now and I'm thrilled to have them leading the store. This location is smaller than SSF however the organization of their item and cleanliness is beyond expectations. Used clubs carefully placed in bins, hitting stalls all set up correctly with launch monitor viewing and stalls free from clutter, all shoe boxes, bags and grips setup in great locations. read more
