I must say this is a gorgeous track with top notch facilities. The course if tough but fair. The greens are absolute perfection. Fairways are manicured. I think having mandatory caddies really help with the upkeep. Our group's caddies were Keith and Eric. Each caddy manages 2 bags. I suppose you can get a caddy for yourself, but I haven't played in months. This was just a chance to hangout with friends that I haven't seen so my game was below average. We played from the middle tees which is 6,156 yards with a 71.0/138 rating/slope. Pretty respectable for member's tees! After the round we enjoyed a nice Riesling wine accompanied with cheese and various small bites. I recommend sitting outdoor so you can take in the spectacular view. Their locker room is top notch complete with showers, steam room, toiletries and friendly staff to clean your shoes. I hosted numerous business meetings and events there as well as friend & family meals. The Staff go out of their way to make everyone feel special and every need attended to. So it's mostly quiet and serene. And I say mostly, because there is an airport next to the course so that does create some loud, intermittent, overhead noise particularly on holes 5-10. Week-end game will take you 5 hours. I played yesterday. The weather was warm and sunny. My playing companions were delightful. My golf expertise, as it is (14 handicap), was nowhere no be found. My final score was deplorable. Yet I had plenty of fun. If you are a golfer take my word, it's near impossible to find a better course for a meager $30 fee.

It was basically an 83 that was turned into a 74 because of the quality of the greens. They were rolling so smooth and consistent with no bumps like before. It was actually rewarding great putting in terms of speed and lines. The rough is still brutally hard sort of US Open like but the fairways mostly very nice but very narrow,firm and smooth. I only hit 5 greens in regulation but putter got really hot.Also all the bunkers close to perfect as I had 2 sand saves.Great job by the greens keeping team, Bob and Vince managing the course. I don't know how the tip out works, but something about her just sounded sketchy so I would suggest management keep a close eye on her and there is definitely room for improving, especially with the staff.

No sooner had we ordered than our food arrived--within about five minutes. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed a beautiful view of the golf course from our table by the window. The pancake was bigger than our heads, so we ordered just one and shared it. It was absolutely delectable! Because we enjoyed our breakfast experience so much, we decided to return that evening for dinner. Unfortunately, our dinner experience could not have been more different. When we arrived, we were told to choose any table we liked, which was fine. However, once we sat down, we were completely ignored. Eventually, I waved a waitress over. She brought us silverware and a couple of menus, and that was the last we saw of her for quite some time. Meanwhile, other guests were arriving and being seated at tables adjacent to ours, and they were served almost immediately. I watched as their orders were taken while we continued waiting without even being acknowledged. My cousin eventually got up and went to the bar to order a drink. He was told that it would be better to order from our table because we would receive faster service that way. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I watched the table next to us receive their soup while we still had not even been able to order a drink. I finally waved another waitress down. She told me she would find the waitress who had originally been assigned to us. We continued to wait. When the other waitress finally returned, she said she would take our order herself. We both ordered steak and baked potatoes, and she asked if we wanted our potatoes "loaded," which we did. She also took our drink order. Another 15-20 minutes passed, and we still had not received our drinks. At this point, the situation had become extremely frustrating, and we could not help but feel that we were being treated differently because of our race. Eventually, another waiter came over and apologized for the long wait. He went over our order with us and explained that they had been out of baked potatoes for about two hours. He asked what drinks we had ordered. We told him, and he again profusely apologized. He acknowledged how long we had been waiting and said he would get our drinks immediately and put in our food order. I have traveled all over the world and have visited countless restaurants and businesses, but I have never experienced this kind of treatment. This was the first time in my life that I genuinely felt I was experiencing racism. I sincerely hope that this was not the reason we were treated the way we were, but based on everything that happened that evening, it is difficult not to feel that way. The contrast between our breakfast and dinner experiences was astonishing. During breakfast, we felt welcomed, respected, and valued. That evening, we felt completely ignored and unwelcome. If this is truly what we experienced, I cannot see myself returning to Northwood Golf Club. I hope management takes this experience seriously and looks into how guests are being treated, because no customer should leave an establishment feeling the way we did. It is especially disappointing because we had such a wonderful breakfast experience that we actually chose to come back for dinner. Unfortunately, that second visit left us with a completely different impression of the establishment.

They have discounts for military / law enforcement (even retired). After that, it seems to go down hill. The carts are old and worn. There are no trash cans on the course. Why? People were placing their empty cans/bottles on the half barrels hole description / markers. There is no sand in the bunkers. A lot of the cart paths are in dire need of repair. There was no water available on the course. They had the little huts, but no coolers inside. It was 90 degrees today. No drink cart on the course. No water on the course. That's insane. The course is still challenging and fun to play, but seriously...it could be so much better. Especially considering the location it's in. They seem to be riding on the fumes of the reputation they had decades ago.
