Update: Owner reached out and is stepping in to help me figure this out. I understand the diablo floors is just the vendor but I'm still not pleased with the quality of my floors. I'm happy to have some assistance. Will update again after I speak to the manufacture etc. We recently completed a home remodel in Lafayette, gutting our 1950s rancher and completely updating the whole house. I have to say looking back on the process the only thing I regret are my floors. I was excited to purchase from a local company but since installing and having issues with them I have reached out to diablo floors and they had not been great. I wanted to talk to them for 1) advice. I can't seem to keep the floors clean see pics. I'm sure the white in the grains are some construction dust but I can't seem to get it out. I was told my diablo floors to "just use water" and they seemed very annoyed I was even calling to ask. Water does not work, steaming does not work, I've tried other products nothing. 2) I wanted to warn them and not to recommend this floor to others as I'm sure they'd also not to happy. The floors were not cheap and I spent hours in their showroom, I really wish I hadn't gone to diablo flooring and picked out such horrible quality floors. Every time I walk into my front door I see the white and get annoyed there's nothing that seems to work. read more

We had selected and place an initial down payment on new Pro Tek flooring for our kitchen/family room in mid-February with Diablo Flooring. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to postpone installation until June 1st. Brent and his crew arrived on time and did a fantastic job. They worked diligently through the day and kept us informed on the install process and issues encountered. Despite a slight hiccup (they were sent out with the wrong install order), Brent made sure that our flooring was available that day. He started the demo of the old flooring while his wife drove down to Hayward to pick up the right flooring. Outstanding install job! And the flooring looks better than anticipated. I recently reviewed your comment to my review, but if you had come to inspect the carpet you would have seen that your smug opinion about my cat (who has never exercised her claws on any carpet In this house) makes no sense. Businesses like Carpet One would never treat their customers this way. They stand by their products and will replace when there is a problem, even if you don't like the way it looks (which in no way was my issue). After spending thousands of dollars on a carpet that failed, any consumer would expect a degree of professional courtesy that your company clearly lacks. In addition to the snags on this berber/loop carpet, it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove stains. My dog threw up on the carpet several times when I was out of the room. I came in shortly after, cleaned up the carpet, and then had a professional carpet cleaner come over to take care of the stains. They could NOT remove the stains. So, now in addition to the snags (which had NOTHING to do with my cat), and the stains (which WERE caused by the dog), this carpet is ready for the trash. Ironically, I have loop carpet in my upstairs bedrooms that has been there since 2001. It has gone through crazy stains/spills by my three kids over the last twenty years (some which were discovered long after the spill) and still looks GREAT! The way this company failed to show us the courtesy of coming to inspect the carpet when the snags occurred, and the way they failed to warn up about the fragility of the carpet (in terms of stains) is truly outrageous. This was one of the most expensive loop carpets sold by Diablo Flooring at the time, and the lack of customer service received by this company still disgusts me. read more

Updated 04/19/16 2 days after posting this review I was contacted by the owner Brian who repeatedly asked me to remove my 2 star review from Yelp. Because of my original review, I was accused of "cyber bullying" for leaving an honest critical review about their pricing and how they were outbid by a competitor and then I was threatened that he spoke to his attorneys and could file a lawsuit if I didn't retract my 2 star review. I explained to Brian that I felt that Yelp is most effective when real users post their honest real life experiences good and bad to help other customers make informed decisions about choosing a business to work with. My opinion is that a business should be able to listen to real customer's criticisms and learn from them ...to improve their business practices - such as reviewing pricing models & efficiency to stay competitive & relative in their line of business. I would encourage yelpers to read the good and bad reviews for this business and the other Diablo Floorings in Danville and Pleasanton. But pay close attention to how this business owner responds to any criticisms and also the tone of his responses. Based on my last interaction and response by Brian the owner I am reducing my Yelp review to 1 star. It is very difficult for me to be able to recommend any business that uses intimidation to attempt to silence legitimate honest & critical reviews. Using intimidation to attempt to censor & take away the protected right of Freedom of Speech (protected by the 1st Amendment of the Constitution and California's anti-SLAPP Laws section 425.16 & section 425.17) is very unprofessional & inappropriate in my opinion and I would assume that the millions of yelpers, readers, & news media would also agree that it is counter-productive to capitalism and against the overall spirit of Yelp. read more

Extremely disappointed in the Walnut Creek Location's customer service. I called today at 4:05 to ask how late they would be open today and what the hours were through the Christmas Holiday. I spoke to Connie who let me know that they were open until 5:00pm today and would be closed until the day after Christmas. Eager to quickly grab some carpet samples and schedule consultation I told Connie I would come down before they close today. I arrived just before 4:20 and as I walked in the door I was told by a woman in the store that they were closed. To which I replied, I just called and was told you are open until 5:00. Brian installed our beautiful hardwood floors last October and we couldn't be happier. We had 3 other contractors come out and give us bids. Not only was his price one of the lowest, but I really felt the most comfortable with using him. He was honest, dependable, and a straight shooter. Some of the other people that came over kind of gave me the creeps and weren't very professional at all. After installation, Brian (the owner) came by to see the completed job. The installation team was very knowledgeable about how to care for the floor, and what not do do (walk on it with stiletto heels), as well as what products to use and not to use. We are very satisfied with the quality installation and the attention to detail, as well as follow up and great communication throughout. The job was finished earlier than promised. These guys are the best in the area if you want top-shelf products done your way. I had one day in town to meet up for measurements and choose flooring, and only a four day window to have new floors installed, and they managed to get the work done in the first two days - perfectly. Management is responsive, sales guys know their stuff, and the installers are pros. I withheld the fifth star for two reasons, one big and one small. First, their guys don't paint baseboards, and it's much much easier if the installers will paint them before installing them. Second, their guys left a reasonably expensive tool behind, which worried me. Again, Diablo flooring is top-shelf. Go in there if you are willing to pay top dollar for excellent products and excellent work. In other words, it isn't cheap, and you shouldn't expect haggling to go well. You can have price, or you can have quality. This is the place to go when you need quality. read more

No other place was willing to help us unless THEY did the measurements prior to ordering. Problem is we couldn't get into our condo prior to our move in date and wanted the carpet installed before moving in our furniture. It doesn't get better than this. bay area interior designer who had them install a gorgeous laminate floor by fusion and after inspecting this flooring at another showroom went with diablo because the whole process from start (having them measure at the home) to completion of installation took 5 days!! roy came to measure (i had already picked out the desired flooring at another showroom but they were dragging their feet at getting me estimates etc) and the floor was just installed today. two installers showed way early this morning and at 6pm they are just finishing up so the entire job incl newly painted baseboards are all in place in one day! its 5 star service all the way from start to finish here and we could not be more pleased. read more

As first time home buyers who were completely new to flooring and renovations, we found our experience with Diablo Flooring disappointing. In fact, we never contracted them for work because of the attendant's lack of interest in our business, lack of advice/guidance and lack of knowledge about the different products. It was like the blind leading the blind when we walked in and I was looking for someone to be more informative, like, "You could do this because or you could do that because." Or, "Many people choose this type of hardwood because it's harder, especially if you have children, so it's less likely to scratch." I had heard that Diablo Flooring was relatively new to Walnut Creek, or under new management. I visited their new location on Mt. Diablo just west of California Blvd. next to Quality Tune Up. Brian was very helpful in finalizing our carpet decision, and also quoted a very competitive price -- beating my "wholesale" source in SOMA but also quoting very reasonable install and padding for an out-the-door final price that was hard to beat. The carpet was ordered immediately, and arrived from Georgia within a bit over a week. Jeff (who coordinated delivery and installation) was also spot on with communication, including phone and very prompt emails, and handled our scheduling with great professionalism and accommodated our morning install request. No time was lost! Installers Hector & Joaquin did a fine job, start to finish today. They were prompt, courteous, responsive, and caring. They took the time to look at the seeming alternatives (long vs. short runs), and discussed the pattern of the carpet very carefully, and then did a very fine prep and installation job. I could not see a single baseboard mark and the seams are just about invisible (and also cleverly hidden under the sofa! We got a bid on January 27, 2018 for $5,000 for flooring in our downstairs town home. We had to wait as our tax return wasn't what we thought but were finally ready to get the job done and went to the store yesterday. We dropped of the quote and thought we were set to go. We got a call from Roy who bid the job in January, who said he "made a mistake" and the job is now actually going to be $10,000!!! Double what we were quoted twice (once in November and again in January). When we asked what we can do, he said "I made a mistake, sorry." This is the second time I have hired Diablo to install flooring at my workplace. The first time they were great: best bid, punctual, professional. They installed Shaw recyclable carpet tiles. The seams were tight, and they left the place looking clean and terrific. I hired them a second time, and again the job was top-notch. We hired Diablo Flooring to rip and replace flooring in our 2700 square foot house. We had 4 companies in the area bid on the job. Brian was by far the most professional and patient as we barraged him with questions. And when we got his quote...it was at a fair price. We had never replaced flooring before, Brian and the team in Walnut Creek really went out of their way to help us select the right wood floor and runner carpet for the stairway. The installers moved the entire house into the garage for us with great care and were really great along the way as we checked on the house daily during the tear out and installation to inspect the progress. The installation took a few days longer than we expected, but we were fine with it as the installers were true craftsman and took the time to really look at the wood and choose the pattern and length that suited particular areas of the house best.
