I didn't know what Diablo's was until I moved to Aiken. I finally had the time to try it out because I am a huge fan of Tex-Mex. I ordered a bowl (it stays consistent wherever I go) with: white rice, black beans, chicken, lettuce, cheese, pico, sour cream, cilantro, fresh jalapeños, and chipotle ranch. If you've ever been to Moe's or Surcheros, it's very similar and they also give you chips and salsa like them. I'm giving them 3 stars because I would rather pay $12 somewhere else like Chipotle or Surcheros. I wish there was more flavor and wished the salsas tasted more distinct, specifically with the spicy and mild. I think you should go try it out regardless, but I just prefer more flavor and less "loose" rice. read more

When you need something quick that will hit the spot... this is your stop. I usually go for the burrito bowl, I think I may have gotten the taco salad a time or two. This place is disgusting nasty!!! Food counter was so bad. Food was smudged on counter where they dip your food. The Floor in the back, where you can see, was filthy! Trash food all over the floor. I love diablos but will NEVER come back in here. North August is way better and cleaner. And I'm not from north augusta. The guy serving up your food never spoke... looked mad at the world. Excellent food. We ordered recently thru DoorDash delivery, and had an epic meal. We have been longtime customers of Diablos. My husband was bummed last year when Diablo's changed their meat portion policy, especially since he gets the quesadilla with only chicken and pico de gallo. And we had a weird experience with one of the employees that last time we were in the restaurant, wherein she insisted that he would want "extra" meat, and when he declined, she rolled her eyes or was somehow put out by it, and she did not even spread the small amount of chicken on the quesadilla. So, that was last Fall or something. At the time, we gave Diablos a two star review, and had not been back since. Well, anyway, we upped the review again, as we were very pleased with our recent order. read more

I visited my parents and we stopped in here for lunch one Sunday. The restaurant was pretty slow, so we didnt have to wait in line very long at all. We decided to get our meals to go so we could eat at home and enjoy a movie. This is sort of a cross over between Moes and Chipotle. They have the lime rice, but they also still have queso. They do have a few things others don't, like a spicy sour cream. The staff were very monotonous and disorganized. As I have mentioned before, if you can't be or fake pleasant most of the time, then you shouldn't work in customer service. As I had never been here before, I had questions and the staff seemed like they couldn't be bothered in giving me some answers. I ended up going with what I know, a pork bowl, with some toppings. In comparison, I like Moe's better (and Chipotle less)- their pork is more moist and their toppings seem a little fresher. That being said, Diablos is on the North Side and Moes is across town, so it's definitely good for your Tex-Mex fix. Get some friendly staff and I don't see why this couldn't be five stars for a good, quick, tex-mex lunch. read more

I have several allergies that make it very hard for me to eat out at all, and the Manager (my apologies but I didn't get her name) went waaaaayyyyyy above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. My wife called to inquire about allergens in the menu items for me and the manager wasn't able to answer right away so she took our phone number called the corporate office to verify the ingredients and then called us back! Turns out there was many options available for me and I wouldn't have known that without her phenomenal customer service!!!! So many times servers/managers just shrug their shoulders and say I don't know but that was not the case here. Thank you so much!!!! This is a favorite lunch spot for me. If you're looking for casual Tex-Mex dining that has better atmosphere than Moes, this is it. There's even charging stations at each booth for your phone. Everything you order comes with the most delicious tortilla chips. I personally always order a side of queso cheese to dip my chips on, which is also excellent. The personalized way you create your own food is awesome and has great choices. Service is mostly attentive. I have had a couple times when I had to stand staring at the associates chat together for several minutes before they even acknowledged I was standing there waiting to be served. read more

Personally, I favor the flavors here better than Chipotle or Moes and I love me some Moes! I was pleased with how quick the line moved, the open table for me to sit down at and how the staff was very friendly. This was my second time eating here. I am glad I gave it another chance. Arrived around 4pm on Friday. The guy making the food was friendly and polite. A girl was working the register and she was great, too. I was helped carrying the food to our table. When you order you stand in front of the options and can pick them as you go. Everything was stocked, smelled good and looked fresh. We tried a kids chicken quesadilla and a steak burrito. Both were plenty to eat. The chips and queso were perfect! DELICIOUS!! The rice was sort of mushy and not much flavor but by the time toppings were added the rice blended in and was good. So many employees by 4:25pm were gathered at the register, chit chatting and blocking the entrance/exit of the restrooms. My reason for removing a star. I never like to see this. It is unprofessional. Customers should not hear issues and esp. never need to hear personals about other employees. Customers are paying to enjoy a meal. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant was clean. They have To-Go order forms and you can fax it. This would be a great option for work lunches or big orders. read more

Columbia, SC (Killian Rd location)...If Chipotle and Moe's had a baby and it was a very bad baby... it would be this.. they have things that both Chipotle AND Moe's (bowls, salsa bar, quesadillas, nachos, etc) offer but good LAWD they suck. Super stingy on items.. u literally have 2 ask for extra this and extra that bc everything is a pinch or 1/2 scoop! Maybe Chipotle and Moe's spoiled me and I'm used 2 huge portions but geez Louise at least let it TASTE good. Almost identical to Chipotle, but I think a bit better. The food don't blow me away, but the portion size of my salad was very large and the staff was very friendly. Prices of items are between $7-10. Basically, you pick the type of meal you want (e.g. Burrito, tacos, quesadilla, etc.) and then you go down the line and select what you want in or on top. read more

Diablo's is DA BOMB! This particular location has great staff and is always clean. Sometimes it is busier than others so sometimes there is tons of seating while other times you gotta take what you can get, but the food is awesome. I love the chips. I love the tacos. When I first moved to the area, I had never been to Diablo's before so I was a frequent diner (like weekly) the first month or so I lived here. Its freshly made, Tex-Mex in my opinion. For fast Mexican food this place was delicious! It is set up like Chipotle or Moe's were you choose which form you want like burrito, bowl, salad, nachos etc., then just go down the line and tell them what you want on it. Food here was alright. First time eating Diablo's was at the Augusta location. I fell in love so I figured the Aiken location would be the same. It wasn't. They weren't too busy. When we walked in two young guys gawked at us! No hello. Nothing. Just stared. I asked one of the guys if they were even open! That turned me off right there. Not welcoming. Thank goodness the workers in Augusta were friendly and answered all our questions since it was out first time. Glad we didn't have to bother these guys since we knew what we wanted.
