From the moment you pull up, they make the whole process feel easy and stress-free. One thing I really appreciate as a woman in my 20s is that they actually take the time to explain everything they're doing and walk you through the service without making you feel uncomfortable or pressured. Unfortunately, I know a lot of women my age feel nervous going to car service places alone because it can feel intimidating or like you're being taken advantage of. I never once felt that way here. They were honest, patient, and genuinely helpful. The customer service is honestly top tier. They even offer you a water while your car is being serviced, which is such a small thing but makes the experience feel that much more thoughtful. The fact that you stay in your car the whole time is also a huge plus. The service is quick, efficient, and the staff keeps the conversation going so the time flies by. I was able to get my oil changed and still have enough time to grab lunch all within my one-hour break from work. I came back to the office talking nonstop about how great my experience was. I was distraught and very stressed out as I was far from home with a child and needed to get home asap. They were so kind and helpful, assisted me with everything, ordered me a new tire asap. I've never been to a Midas store but the gentleman that helped me that day and his team made me a fan of Midas forever and I'm very grateful to them for being kind, patient and so helpful to me and my kid on a very bad day when we really needed help. This is the stuff that sets one business aside from the rest, the care and willingness to go the extra mile.

UPDATE: Returning to update this review after another experience that confirms my original warning…read more Months after my first visit here, I discovered the technician had overtightened my oil drain plug so severely that two other shops could not remove it without specialized tools. One actually broke their tool trying. I came back to Midas Monrovia to have them fix the damage they caused. The service manager, Justin, verbally agreed the repair would be complimentary since it was their error. I authorized the work on that basis. When it was done, he handed me a $99 invoice and claimed I had "misunderstood". That only removing the plug was free, not the oil change itself. This was never communicated before the work began. When I asked for Midas corporate's phone number, he told me they didn't have it. Classic bait and switch. I've disputed the charge with my bank and filed complaints with Midas corporate, the BBB, and the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. Avoid this shop.

Shortly after leaving the property, I noticed my engine began shaking -- an issue that was not present before the service. I immediately returned to the location and reported the problem. I was initially told it was an engine misfire, then that it might be my air filter. The employee then suggested I take the vehicle to my own mechanic. When I explained that the engine was running smoothly before the oil change, I was again encouraged to leave and handle it elsewhere. After requesting to speak with a manager, the technician who had performed the service finally inspected the vehicle and identified the problem: the oil cap (oil capsule) had not been properly secured. This oversight caused a significant inconvenience and disrupted my schedule. While the technician who worked on my vehicle did apologize once the issue was discovered, the original employee I dealt with showed no accountability, offered no apology, and made no effort to resolve the situation.

He was calm, knowledgeable, and transparent. He also stayed completely professional and never made negative comments about the original installer -- he simply focused on fixing the issue and making sure my vehicle was safe. They properly re-torqued and secured all the suspension components and performed a full alignment to ensure everything was dialed in. The truck now drives perfectly -- stable, smooth, no more clunking or sway. On top of that, their pricing was very fair and reasonable, especially considering the safety issue they corrected. It's hard to find a shop that combines honesty, skill, and fair pricing like this. So i came upon this shop because I figured id try and save money and use groupon but i get here ,…read moreboth times do the service, and both times now I have left feeling uneasy with either the service or actual price I ended up paying. So the filter cost more because my car is 2021? Theres fees I've had to pay more than what Groupon shows so just a heads up , not their fault, but just something they should fix. An example would be like "more oil is required then what shows on Groupon so you will be charged 8$" or something always comes up when using the groupon. Ended up paying 20$ more than what groupon showed to fill my lexus and get the proper filter. So the service was like 100$ total anyways. Ive come here twice and both times were unpleasant. Not sure if I come during bad times but although very friendly, it seems like the workers here are younger , more relaxed, and don't do the proper standard operating procedures. Like when you go to have someone work om your car , you can tell they been working, getting it , and seem to make u feel like they know what theyre doing. In terms of professionals? Idk if this place is it. I waited 1hr and 45 mins for a simple oil change and filter change? Mind you I waited for an hour and the worker tells me they brought the wrong filter. So thats why i stayed the extra 45 minutes. Total i spent 1hr and 45 minutes there today. I was also the only car there. I never judge a book by its cover , and on both times gave the benefit of the doubt. Then I leave and then see they forget to reset the maintenance meter and then don't update the gas mileage sticker? (first instance i came not the second, the second is the long wait thus what caused this review) Its frustrating when you trust people to work on your car and have to just hope for the best because you already paid for it. But if they're messing up minor details, what does that say about the work they did? Nevertheless, I will pay the extra 40$-50$ at my local auto repair shop where the owner does his work honest and right all the time. Im not writing this to bash the place but they forsure just hiring whoever can do "a simple oil change" probably not a place you wanna take a newer car. Maybe your beater or older car. Just wrote this so people who come for an oil change and expect it to be quality.. yeah based off both experiences , I cannot guarantee its gonna be this place.
