Grub hub delivery came before the scheduled window! My husband and I were so happy with the food - it tastes like it came from someone's home kitchen, made with love!! Fried chicken has a super crispy, cornmeal (?) breading that is just amazing! Chicken is tender and fresh!! We loved every side - Mac & cheese melts in your mouth. Ribs have a zesty sauce. Thank you for an excellent, home cooked meal! My pictures were taken during dinner and it went fast!

I've been aching to try Dialo's Cafe for months now and I finally had the chance to go for dinner tonight. I ordered the Chef Dialo's Deluxe Cheddar Bacon Burger minus the veggies for my husband and The Jean Klock Park turkey burger minus tomato for myself. Called it in over the phone and was told 20 minutes, but we get there and our food is not ready yet even though I showed up late, so it really took about an hour (ordered at 5:46, got food at 6:36) which was not appreciated. People that came in after me even got their food sooner than I did. The restaurant is well kept but small. The one employee I saw never smiled and was not in view for most of the time I was there, assumably in the kitchen. I open my container and I saw a top bun and fries. My burger was literally buried under the seasoned fries. The turkey burger looked more just like a chicken sandwich rather than ground turkey. My mom never ate red meat so I've had many turkey burgers and this looks nothing like the homemade turkey burgers I made growing up. While the burger looked odd and definitely didn't taste like I expected, I would eat it again. The fries smelled like heaven, I will give them that. Seasoned perfectly, with a nice crispy crunch. I wanted this to be an amazing experience so badly but making me wait is basically a sin. Don't lie about wait times, because you don't know if someone can't wait the real wait time. My husband really wants to come back but it'll take some convincing to get me back here. Too long, didn't read: service 1 star, food 4 stars

The food was absolutely delicious! My boyfriend and I picked up some fish, fries, and sides to go picnic on the beach and might I say, it was a fantastic decision! Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was for one side being missing and for the atmosphere. With COVID-19 going on, they only allow 5 people inside at once. However, by the time I got my food to go there were 8 people inside, plus the workers. However, it was an overall good experience and I would pick up food to go from there again! We love Dialo's Cafe. It is close to our home and we get to-go from there at least once a week. We cannot get enough of the rib tips. We order them dry with the sauce on the side. Their rib tips are super meaty and the sauce is tangy and not too sweet. They make a nice snack or dinner. Hands down the best rib tips in the area. They are definitely a must try!

If you like Soul food/southern cooking, this is the place for you. We tried Dialos on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and so flavorful, each bite was a treat. Everything we tried was well seasoned and arrived hot on our plates. The BBQ chicken was perfectly smoked and the sauce added a little extra kick. You have got to try the place!

Fantastic! I had the perch po'boy, a side of cabbage, and Mac 'n cheese. Banana pudding for dessert. The po'boy was HUGE and delicious. Nice breading on the filets, and plenty of them. Remoulade, pickles, onion, tomato and lettuce. I loved it. The braised cabbage was perfect, included some carrots as well. Mac and cheese, just delicious. Super cheesy, noodles weren't mushy (like I usually find at restaurants) Oh! And we had banana pudding. It was perfect. All and all , this place is like eating at your family's house. The food is real, and prepared with love. It's really fantastic, and I can't wait to go back. Edit: I almost forgot, the service was great, too. Really kind server was so helpful with the menu descriptions and recommendations. PS I would love a perch option on the kids menu!

This place is a hidden gem. The BBQ was delicious here. Their BBQ sauce def had some spice to it which I really liked. The rib dinner serving size is huge and the ribs have a ton of meat on them. Brisket was good but def preferred the ribs. The cabbage side was also surprisingly good. It seems like a family owned place and the staff was friendly.

I've been craving soul food for awhile now. I decided to encourage my colleagues to dine at Dialo's for lunch on a Thursday. Also known as BBQ THURSDAY! I was not disappointed at all. Friendly service and generous portions. I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. Unless dining in I would suggest calling your order in and checking out the Facebook page for daily deals. I might go back for Fish Fry Friday, too.

I've had Dialo's bookmarked for several weeks and today we finally made a trip there for lunch with friends. The restaurant is conveniently located on M139 but easy to miss with an unassuming sign and very small parking area in front. The smoker billowing white clouds of fragrant smoke was the tipoff that we had found the place. We were greeted by our friendly server, Zenaya who told us about the specials and made some great recommendations. We landed on ribs, perch, friend chicken and the pork chop special with a variety of sides. We didn't have to wait too long but our mouths were watering when our feast was finally delivered to our table. Everything was fantastic, fresh and piping hot. The fried chicken was a stand-out as many have said - the breading was crisp and seasoned to perfection. Of the sides we particularly liked the mac 'n cheese, red beans & rice and the collard greens and corn bread. The coleslaw was amazing too. Even though we were totally stuffed, we tried the peach cobbler for dessert - excellent as well. This place is a hidden gem - spotlessly clean, with comfortable seating or convenient carry-out and a nice menu with lots to choose from. We will be regulars here!!

Yum, yum, yum. Our first visit with friends from the Chicago area. Our favorite items: fried chicken, fried tilapia, fried okra, collard greens. Next time we will order the chicken again and try the cabbage, mac & cheese and pinto bean side dishes as well. The yam side dish is great but tastes like a dessert. Our friends loved the smothered chicken. Great prices and good portions. Friendly service too! We will be back! read more

They catered an event for us last Friday. To a person, 5 Starts and two thumbs up. We had the 3 meat/3 side dish catering special and they all were fabulous. The little touches for the fruit bowls went over big. Everything was top notch, the food was melt in your mouth delicious. Will recommend them to anyone for any event. ABSOLUTELY LEGIT!!! Coming from Dallas where we are known for food being great and having large portions; Dialo's was phenomenal! Shawn(hope that is how he spells it) is doing a fantastic job. They make sure everything is made fresh. The catfish and chicken are on point! Cabbage was great for my soul. Great service and friendly. I am a traveling salesman that will be in the area every few months, I WILL ALWAYS COME BACK HERE! I have not even gotten to the BBQ yet, but I bet he killed it too! It is a dis-service to yourself if you do not check them out. read more

Ordered from Dialo's using Door Dash. This was my first time ever eating here and let me tell you..the food was AMAZING! Being from Texas, BBQ is like an actual food group and I have not been super impressed by the bbq here..until today. I had ribs, greens, cornbread and Mac & cheese. Everything was so good! Very quaint little café good service and unbelievable smoky barbecue everything. I've tried the brisket, the burgers, the fish, the chicken and the rib tips! I haven't had a bad meal yet! so happy to find this spot in benton harbor. always looking for a good option when mason jar is closed or the wait is too long. don't be put off by the exterior since it is just a strip mall spot and the interior isn't anything fancy but we were getting takeout anyway. the woman helping with orders and running the register was nice and had everything ready. and it was appreciated that they were serious about masks and distancing and not offering any sit down service. i got the brisket and my wide had the perch. brisket was nice and fatty but did need the sauce. perch was awesome and always excited to see it as an option in addition to catfish and cod. but the star was the sides. potato salad, greens and slaw were all excellent. will definitely keep dialo's in our rotation since we are in the area several times a year. read more

This IS the place for fall-off-the-bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender smoked BBQ. Prices are incredibly reasonable. The dining room is spacious with plenty of room for small & large groups. Don't let the front of the building fool you, as it makes this place look smaller than it really is. C'mon in, sit a spell, and sink your teeth into the BEST lip smacking ribs, chicken, and fish. LOVE their pan-fried Perch combo with HOMEMADE sides & their Fried Chicken, too!! 10 STARS rating!!!! read more

Passing through while traveling we tried this small little place. Saw the smoker billowing smoke out back and knew we had found authentic BBQ. Boss Hog fries are amazing. The rub and sauce were great on the ribs, but it tasted like I got ribs made the day before. The brisket was really good too. Recommend the Mac n cheese, cornbread stuffing, coleslaw(unique-has golden raisins in it). Friendly and helpful service. read more

This was my second visit as I wanted to reserve my bad experience as a bad luck day.... well now I think not. Ordered the rib tips and as before they were tough and chewy. Dialo's Cafe is small and easy to miss in the middle of Benton Harbor's fast food strip, but when it comes to soul food, it is the real deal! The smoker out back and the smells in the dining room let us know we were in the right place. Portions were generous, and flavors were spot on. Vegetarian options were limited but tasty; carnivores were in heaven. Especially liked the johnny-cake style cornbread. Now that we've found it, we'll be eating here a lot! read more

We take PRIDE in serving HOMEMADE FOOD (not pre-packaged / processed foods). Yes, we even cut our hand-cut fries (not out of a bag). Not only is this healthier, it is the way it should be!
