Okay, so this was a weird experience. I was basically driving in a trance, having left the house at 5:00AM to drop off one of my girls at the Austin airport and then heading to Harlingen. I was on day three of being really sick, and I had gotten very little sleep that night because of all the sinus pain. I was blindly following the GPS and came upon this gas station/convenience store out in the middle of nowhere and decided to pull in at the rear of the place and sleep for a while. I don't even know if the place was open; it was still dark when I got there. I woke up and it was daylight. I needed something to drink, so I pulled around to the front of the place, parked crookedly and shuffled in. I saw they had breakfast tacos and realized I was hungry, too. I picked two random ones, bought them and left. One was brisket, the other was some mixture of eggs, potatoes, beans, bacon, sausage, cheese and whatever else they could think of to throw into it. The brisket didn't look great, so I set it aside and took a bite of the stuffed one. It was really, really good. So, I tried the brisket. Now, I have to say, if I bought a brisket plate and this is what they brought me, I'm not sure how I'd feel about it. But, as a taco (basically, just meat in a flour tortilla), it was absolutely delicious. I will say they were a bit on the pricey side. The two tacos and a 20 oz bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper was over $16. But, both of those tacos rank up there with the best I've had. read more

I remember going here as a kid, and it was in this creepy old looking building. I was a horror fanatic growing up so it was amazing to see this building. Every time we came to Luling specifically for their sausage. It's been over 10 years and I finally got to go back and get their sausages and they were so kind there they moved into a gas station. It's a pretty cool gas station. They have a good variety besides their sausages, but I grew up on their sausages. And they are still just as good as they were growing up. I'm glad they're still open after all these years. I ordered 10 sausages this last time and got a lot of little barbecue sauces and FYI, the barbecue sauce is also pretty good. read more

Wow! My husband and I found this gem while driving towards Houston from San Antonio area. It feels like Texas as soon as you walk in- southern decor, fresh barbecue smells. I was very pleased with how clean the restaurant was and how nice the staff were. I'm pretty sure they were the owner and owners family. Thank you all for making me and my husband feel so welcome and we will definitely be back if we're ever in town. Ok. Where do I begin? It's a gas station. Not a restaurant. Don't think because they have the billboard on interstate 10 you'll find a fancy sit down eatery. The service here is abysmal. They have children working the service line. Nobody is following any safety guidelines. No one wears a mask. Period. Gloves were optional. While they do have a serving line it's not their primary concern. They are busier checking out customers from the store side. The food. Hey. The brisket wasn't bad. The ribs were awful. $14 got me 3 extraordinarily mediocre and undersized breakfast tacos, with equally mediocre salsa. The taquitos weren't weren't terrible, but they sure weren't worth the money. You're better off going to Buckee's or a Mexican restaurant than wasting your money here. read more

Best breakfast tacos around. Scratch that. Best breakfast tacos, period. Don't believe me? Try them! They're available from Monday to Saturday until 10:30AM. I'm making a point to share the time with you because they switch their menu around for lunch time, and I found myself disappointed one morning I came in a few minutes too late, faced with brisket centric, taco-less menu (I'm vegetarian, so I left empty handed). In any case, I'm always very excited whenever I drive by Goss BBQ in the morning because I know it'll mean I get to eat one of their large and tasty tacos on my way to running errands. They're generous with their servings and they're affordable too, a winning combination. Goss BBQ also serves brisket, fries, sides, desserts and other food items, but for me the highlight will always be tacos. My only regret is that they aren't served all day, or at least until lunch time. This joint also serves as a Valero gas station and convenience store where you can find mainstream drinks, snacks, candy bars and beer. Located inside a gas station This is a little out of the way but if you're nearby this is the perfect stop on a trip. Sausage wraps are always on point. Goss BBQ is delicious! The brisket is always moist and tasty. Melts in your mouth! The chicken has that smoky yumminess that puts a smile on my face every time. But I've had breakfast here, too. It's hard to make biscuits and gravy that are as good as my grandmother's but they do! Their bacon is tasty, and one of their coffee flavors is dark, tasty, and gives you a quick kick in the butt. The owners are very kind, and Mr. Goss will chat with you if he's not doing tasks around the store. This is also a gas station and corner store, but it has indoor and outdoor tables for people to sit and eat. Most of the people coming in know each other, and will hang out and chat. Amazing food and friendly locals. Stopped by at this place while cruising in TX-80 to gas up until we noticed this place looks interesting. In pandemic situation, I'm kind of disappointed that the place is allowing customers to come in without mask and staff are not wearing any masks or gloves. I enjoyed their brisket and pork ribs, the meat was really tender, juicy, and tasty. The Bar-B-Q Sandwich was great especially the brisket but I didn't enjoy the bread they used, I was hoping they would use burger buns instead. I think the Mac and Cheese is soupy with it's cheese, it's better if the cheese was thicker and cheesier. Stopped thru Belmont, TX from South Texas to Seguin, and had seen this place a few times and decided to get a sample to go. Got two good slices of brisket, one pork rib, and a sausage link. No sides. Brisket was tender, not dry, and kinda soft smoked, if you ask me. Didn't see a lot of bark on the brisket, but still good. Pork rib was more tasty and tender, sausage was just meh. Didn't see any sauce but felt like the brisket and pork would do a little better with some. Would probably stop in again and try some more. read more

My folks live right down the road and I go through Belmont all the time. I've stopped by a few times and have gotten a sandwich as well as a pound or two of brisket to take to their house.
