I was looking for a place to repair a loose permanent retainers after moving and I've been to this location a few times now. The wait time is a bit ridiculous. I have had mostly afternoon appointments and one morning appointment, and they all have been at least a 30 minute wait after my scheduled appointment. Not including the wait on the chair between a dental assistant and the orthodontist. I've had the original bonding on my permanent retainers for 4 years without any issues. On my first visit, one of the re-bonding repairs they did was undone the day after. They were nice enough to get me into the office within the day after and fixed it. I didn't quite like the fix and they had said it would be something that I would need to get used to. The second visit was much better. A different orthodontist worked on the same area and made sure I felt comfortable with the repair before I left. They were more clever when repairing my top-permanent retainer by polishing my bottom tooth so that it didn't continue to impact my top retainer. This place has multiple offices in different Burroughs which is convenient. I like that they have a call back option rather than waiting on the phone for a real person. With multiple locations, they have day of appointments. I also really appreciate they have a self check-in kiosk in their locations so you don't have to wait in line. Overall, the staff are really nice and I do trust their orthodontists with a preference. I do have to prepare to wait and wish they were more organized and managed schedules better. read more

I had an excellent experience thanks to Lea, she really did a great job. Lea clearly cares about the work she's doing and doesn't just rush through it. She also speaks through the process and let's you know what she's doing next which is helpfully (e.g., "I'm going to place power-chains"). Lea has been the first to ask me if I'd like to floss and brush after she removed my wire. I really really appreciated this. I've experienced other techs who don't ask and rush you through the process. Lastly, she offered me a hook for placing my rubberbands in and some wax refills. This was a 10/10 experience. I definitely recommend Lea if you're going to the Astoria Diamond braces! read more

This place is a scam, extremely money hungry and will lie and say anything so you won't get a refund. Let me preface that at the end of your Invisiline treatment you are only given one set of permanent plastic retainers. Whereas my family and friends that went to other places for treatment were given at least two sets of retainers. Did you know that if you lose or damage these retainers it's $400. Yes, they need to be replaced every few years so imagine the cost. Also, why was a charged $400 when a past reviewer stated she only paid $100 to replace her top row? Shouldn't my set be $200 if that's the case? This office completely ripped me off. Or the front desk picks and chooses what price to give to patients. I went to the office because I thought I lost my retainer while on vacation, yes this was completely on me for that. The front desk lady told me $400 for top and bottom row replacement and to make a mold in which they would make the plastic retainer in house so that I would get it fast. It was almost 6pm so they told me that they would have it the next day. Later that evening my partner found my retainer. So I immediately called the office the following morning when the office opened to ask whether or not the retainer has been made if not to please not make them obviously since I found my retainer! The lady on the phone says no that they haven't been made yet as of now and that she would let the office know not to make them and to see if they can process a refund. She told me they would give me a follow up call in a few days. I get a call two days later, the worker tells me they made my retainer and to pick it up. So this money hungry office knew that I found the retainer but proceeded to make a shifted retainer for me anyway. Which I just wasted $400 on, if they weren't able to give me a refund at least give me an alternative treatment or something for that cost but I was not given an alternative or anything. They just went along and made the retainer knowing I don't need it. Horrible office, uncaring and money hungry employees only who just want their commission and over charge. Should be illegal. Please do not use these orthodontist. In process of filing suit for medical malpractice. Dealt with them for almost three years did not have one pleasant experience with them. Look at their BBB rating and all the issues customers have had. Do not do business with these people. -Fell behind on monthly payments once and they wouldn't give me my trays until I made up the payment. -orthodontist I dealt with was incompetent to the point I got a second opinion from another one of their own orthodontist, who agreed with me. -service was incomplete and they way teeth were adjusted caused irreparable damage to my lower lip. Asked for a refund and all they do is try to gaslight you -every time I speak to them on the phone the people are incompetent and frustrating to deal with. I am trying to explain my case to one of the supervisors so that we could seek a mutually beneficial resolution. She tells me my teeth are perfect and look amazing even though every other orthodontist I have spoken to has said otherwise, and I am telling them the alignment they have provided has caused me physical pain and damage to my lower lip. Oh boy do I wish I saw some of these reviews before I committed to this place!!! I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE NEGATIVE FIFTY STARS. I had Invisalign once as a teenager for 2 years, from an ortho in Long Island. Unfortunately I didn't wear my retainer and 10+ years later my teeth shifted. I knew exactly what to expect from this process and let me tell you, DIAMOND BRACES IS A SCAM. I'm sure that because they're a global chain or whatever, their quality of care and ability to actually know about each patient is challenging. That being said, don't waste your time here. First red flag I should've recognized: when I gave them my insurance to see if it would cover any portion, they falsely claimed it did not--even when I insisted and showed them the coverage policy I had. It took me paying out of pocket, and afterwards reaching out directly to my insurance to find out, yes they did cover a portion! I was told that because I had braces before, I should definitely pay for the permanent retainer for my upper row of teeth--and if I did it in advance, it'd be at a discount. I opted to do this, paid $300 for it. The plan was to get a permanent retain for my upper, and I would get a plastic retainers for both my top and bottom row teeth to wear in ADDITION to the permanent. Will detail about why this was a huge mistake shortly...!! I was told my "treatment" was going to be 1 year long and I had mentioned to them multiple times that I was specifically looking to see results in a top front tooth. After ~8 months (and insufficient results), they said I was done, and if I was unhappy with the results I'd need to pay for an additional 10 trays to lengthen my treatment period--even though somehow I finished 4+ months early?? When my treatment finished, the permanent retainer was placed on my top row of teeth. For the next 3 weeks, I could not floss at all and food constantly got stuck in my teeth. I was NEVER briefed on the limitations of permanent retainers, only heavily encouraged to get one (in advance of course!)--this SEVERELY impacted my quality of life, so at this point not only was I unhappy with how NOT straight my teeth were, but I was also constantly irritated by this permanent retainer. 3 weeks later, THE PERMANENT RETAINER BROKE IN MY MOUTH. The metal bar detached from one of my teeth and was essentially stabbing me from inside my mouth. I called to let them know about this issue. It's supposed to be a PERMANENT retainer after all, so repairs, ESPECIALLY AFTER THREE WEEKS should be a given right?? THEN they had the AUDACITY to tell me the repair would COST ME $100 PER TOOTH WHERE THE METAL DETACHED. EXCUSE ME??? So they said, ok either $100 to repair or $100 to remove completely. I'm fuming at this point. I already was unhappy with the limitations of this retainer to start, then it breaks, then they tell me I need to pay for it when it's only been 3 weeks for a permanent device that was poorly attached in the first place?? Fed up, I decided to just pay the $100 to remove the braces. Then they said Ok you need a new retainer now for the top row because the original plastic retainer was fitted to account for the permanent retainer that was placed on your tooth. So supposedly the top retainer will now be too loose since we removed the permanent retainer. So THEY MAKE ME PAY AN ADDITIONAL $100 for a new plastic retainers for my top row and say that they're going to make it in-house and that way, they'll get it to me quicker since they don't have to send away my molds and whatnot to a lab. Three days later I return for my new upper row retainer. AND THE RETAINER IS INCREDIBLY LOOSE. WAY LOOSER THAN THE ORIGINAL "POORLY FITTED" RETAINER. I PAID $100 TO REMOVE THE PERMANENT RETAINER, ANOTHER $100 TO GET A NEW PLASTIC RETAINER BECAUSE THE ORTHO INSISTED I NEEDED A NEW ONE, AND NOW IT DOESN'T EVEN FIT???????? FOR WHAT. I vocalized my frustration and dissatisfaction to the doctor who was tending to me 90% of the time--Dr. Chowdhury. She dismissed my concerns saying she was not the doctor to tend to me when it was recommended I get a new upper retainer. There was ZERO accountability for this inconsistent experience. I left the place, took a FAT L and I never returned. I have never in my life been to a place with such poor quality care. Know that you will be rushed in and out and you're one of likely 100 patients to be squeezed in that day. They don't care about you, they just want their money and for you to leave. read more

Extremely happy with my results. I began my invisalign treatment in July 2019. I had (what i felt was severe) overbite and crooked bottom teeth. I was told I was donewith my treatment some time in January 2021, however I was not 100% satisfied. Dr. Chowdhury agreed with my complaint and gladly rescanned me and gave me a few more trays. I am still not done, but seeing that my issue during the last appointment is indeed being addressed by my new trays. Overall I am so happy with the difference I see in my smile. Specifically with my overbite. I find that invisalign is not just about the doctor, but also your own consistency and self advocacy whenever you dont like something. I think the price was reasonable for my treatment, and from what I hear it is much cheaper than other places. I must say though, the Astoria location doesnt have the nicest front desk staff. You will definitely get an assembly line vibe. You are a number and they are a revolving door you have to keep it moving. There was a time I was 15 minutes late and I was reminded several times that I was lucky I was being seen. I get it, I was wrong and had no problem rescheduling, however the front desk woman said i did not need to reschedule but continued to make unnecessary comments. I've waited a year until I completed my Invisalign to review this place. DO IT ELSEWHERE. The initial dentist told me she would do build-ups on 2 of my teeth when my treatment was completed to close my spaces. When that time came 2 years later, I spent 2 days in 2 different locations with dentists who had no idea how to do build-ups. It looks BAD. My top 4 teeth are all the same size. I should have never trusted her. They should've told me Invisalign wouldn't have benefited my teeth from the start. SECONDLY- the retainers they give are cheap. Within 1 month, the canines part of the bottom retainer ripped thru, and 9 months in it tore in the middle. I was told this retainer would last 3-5 years. I clean my retainers every morning and place in the holder. I went back last week to ask what can be done and service rep told me it would be $200 to make another. I said absolutely not. Thousands $ in Invisalign trays which didn't do their job, $500 on crappy build-ups on 2 teeth...I won't spend another dime in this place. They're just untrustworthy and really don't know how to do anything besides lie to take your money. read more

I was told that this was a completely free consultation, and I confirmed that I would not get charged. "All photos and examinations is free with the consultation". Went to the consultation and it was fine, they are like car salesmen saying that there are deals that are almost gone and you must sign now. Having dentists in my family I knew that I should get multiple consultations, so I decided to wait. Few days later my insurance is processing my claim. Confused, I look and Diamond Braces billed them $300 for my "complimentary" consultation. I was able to fight this charge, but not without multiple calls to the office and days of arguing/them saying that it was "free to me since insurance is paying". The consultation took place at Diamond braces Dover, located at 4 West Main Street Denville, NJ 07834 on February 28-2022 where I met with representative Amari who informed me on the cost of service, which total to $2650.00,as well as the procedures of the treatment. I then sign a contract in agreement to what was showed and told to me, that would be my end results. Afterwards I was brought to the back room, and it was a moment of surprise it was a open space with a few dental chairs and a group of young people who all looked like students or interns of the facility. After the first initial service, and on my way out went over to Amari to make myself more informed on the service I had received. While conversing with Amari I was then informed that they have one doctor who's name was Dalia, and the rest of the office consist of assistants, students and technicians . At that moment I started to reconsider my decision on choosing this facility, but the contract was already signed and money already paid so I gave it a try. 5 month later after wearing 10 aligners and changing them every 2 weeks I was back in the office to put on permanent retainer which I requested upon signing the contract, and was also an additional cost. Unfortunately that day they informed me that my teeth was not straight enough for the permanent retainer, which meant the first treatment did not work. I was then told I needed another set to see real results which of course was an additional cost of $750, and another contract with Natalie on the end of June 2022. I was going on vacation to Spain, which was 2 days before my treatment was suppose to conclude, to then finally have the permanent retainer put in. The young lady that was doing the procedure was unable to finish due to lack of knowledge, which led to her requesting help from her fellow coworker. With this new found information I requested to see Doctor Dahlia . To my surprise, I was told that was not her job, usually this procedure is performed by the assistants.The service went horribly and I had no choice but to leave it as is because I was leaving the country. On the plane to Spain my mouth was sore, and bleeding to the point I could not eat and could barely talk. As soon as I landed I was looking for any dental office in Spain. Dentist in Spain was very surprised it was done in the United States. He then informed me the procedure was not properly done, and had to remove some pieces, which brought me so much relief as well as more money been spent. After 10 days I returned to New Jersey , then called the office where I spoke to Yessy the office manager and showed her photos as proof. She was polite and understanding of the situation. She offered me one more set of 10 aligners free of charge at that point I had no choose, my bottom teeth was still not straight and after three full treatment my teeth still not straight, they still offering me more retainers as solution and more payments. I finished my Invisalign with this company over a year ago. They've been very sweet and attentive and accommodating with payment plans especially. My retainers cracked in half a couple days ago. I came back in a panic for a replacement. I really appreciated Alina explaining my options for affordable replacement options and putting the steps into play so quickly. I never write reviews but I received absolutely HORRENDOUS treatment at Diamond Braces in Astoria, NY. Not only were they super unprofessional, their DR. was yelling at me during the visit because I was promised a referral to an Oral Surgeon and during the meeting they changed their minds and said that I could only get a referral AFTER "braces have been put on". This is an absolute money scam! I offered to put down a deposit, but they refused even that saying that braces have to be put on prior to giving any referrals. I was referred to them by my General Dentist, and while they (Diamond braces) discovered that my son had a complicated case where his molar tooth was not coming out and was impacted, they refused to let me treat it by providing a referral to an Oral Surgeon. Furthermore, they assured me that putting on braces before doing an extraction was ok, but the Oral Surgeon (who I visited next day), said that was absolutely not the case! Upon getting my first consultation with Dr. Chowdhury (Astoria location) , it is very clear that she is not at all experienced in treating individuals with TMJD (temporomandibular joint disorder). In fact, I question whether she is remaining up to date with the relevant knowledge in the orthodontic field at all as it seems she is more knowledgeable in promoting braces to a patient without actually making a diagnosis if braces or another appliance is needed to correct an issue first. She does not fundamentally understand the difference between an orthodontic "splint", a "retainer" and a "night guard", believing they serve the same function when they actually do not. She is adverse to learning about a new patients' complex dental history, and in particular to my case, she dismissed that my TMJD pain is primarily the result of malocclusion of my bite due to an uneven jaw. I have MRI and X-ray data to show the relationship, as well as a splint but she dismissed all of this. Of course, how could she make an appropriate determination, if all the data she considered on our consultation were photographs of my teeth taken with a digital camera? She did not even examine my mouth to see how I naturally bite and move my jaw. No X-rays of my teeth, no 3D model scan of my teeth isolated. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of all was how she first approached me in asking "what change in your teeth would you like?" A competent doctor is supposed to diagnose a patient based on their symptoms and history, not ask the patient to diagnose themselves first. Ridiculous. I also did not appreciate how Dr. Chowdhury kept looking at the time on the computer when I tried explaining my dental history to her, as well as her being late to my appointment. Also it was rather unnecessary that she tried to change the conversation to gum health and discussing dental plaque and gingivitis. I came to see her about TMJD and malocclusion, not to get my teeth cleaned. When I need the latter, I will see a dentist, not an orthodontist. Diamond Braces should first tell patients upfront what the 1st consultation includes because how can orthodontic cases be adequately diagnosed without the doctor physically checking a patient's mouth, and only going by 3 superficial digital photographs of a patient's mouth? It's weird. Second, Dr. Chowdhury's expertise should be reviewed, perhaps at one point she was well versed in making diagnoses on complex cases but I would rely on her to do the same now. Orthodontists are specialists who examine relationships between the teeth and the jaw. Dr. Chowdhury's knowledge did not reflect this definition when I spoke with her. read more

Best decision of my life to get Invisalign with Diamond Braces. The entire process from start to finish was super smooth. Dr. Chodharry was kind, and very knowledgeable. One thing I noticed about her was how pleasant she was with her staff, the level of respect they had for each our was very reassuring to me, it proved to me that I was in the right hands. On my final appointment I was assigned to a technician named Meri, she flawlessly put on a permanent retainer for my bottom teeth. I was thinking about adult braces for a while and was shopping around, I'm so happy I found Diamond Braces. Their prices are extremely reasonable for NY and they provide affordable payment plans. Another orthodontist on the same block quoted me $1400 more for the same service. It's been four months since they put on my braces and I go back every four weeks. I'm thrilled with the changes I'm seeing each month. The office is bright and clean and the staff are the best. They're professional, kind and work very well together. Their Astoria office is only open Tuesday, Thursday and every other Monday so expect the office to be busy, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my appointment. I had a problem when a wire broke and it was poking into my gum. I called the office and they set me up with an emergency appointment that day. If you do have an emergency on one of the days their office is closed, one of their other locations will see you.
