I was a satisfied patient until I requested a copy of my final Invisalign scan, at which point the clinic chose to prioritize a $500 sale over my legal rights and patient trust." I have been denied access to my digital STL scans at this clinic since December 2025. They claimed my last scan was taken three months prior to completion and is "inaccurate," yet they successfully fabricated a final retainer for me at the end of treatment--which is impossible without an accurate final scan. This appears to be a misleading tactic to force me into a new office visit and a $500 fee for a new scan and retainer. Withholding records to coerce a sale is a violation of HIPAA (45 CFR § 164.524) and NY Law. I have officially filed a federal complaint (Case #683173) and a report with the NY State Board of Professional Discipline. I'd had teeth gap or also known as diastema for almost all my life. It got worse as I got older and I finally decided to put my foot down and get it fixed before it causes anymore damages. I started my Invisalign treatment on October 2022 and finally finished it on June 2026, it was a long journey but I am super happy with the end results! I had a consultation with Dr. Kimberly Bui back in October 2020. Before meeting her, I visited a few other clinics for Invisalign treatment around the Upper West Side in NYC. The other clinics didn't seem to take me seriously and offered hasty, poorly executed simulations of what the results might look like. When I met Dr. Bui, she was kind, patient, and informative. I knew right away that this clinic was the right place for me. Even though I lived in Morningside Heights, finding a clinic--and an orthodontist--that treats you with care and respect was worth the trek. The office experience was great. The receptionist checked me in quickly and efficiently, ensuring all necessary protocols were followed--we were about 7 months into the pandemic at the time. Scheduling my next appointment was easy and effortless, and the staff was quick to make adjustments whenever I had a scheduling conflict. Throughout the process, Dr. Bui and I communicated clearly every step of the way. I had complications with my molars, underwent a root canal, and had other dental work done during the course of treatment. I kept her updated on my situation, and she always let me know what needed to be done and what adjustments were necessary as things evolved. During my Invisalign treatment at MBO, there were a few times I met with other orthodontists due to scheduling conflicts on my end. I saw Dr. Victor Chang and Dr. Mythilee Kugathasan, and they were just as kind and professional. However, the majority of my visits were with Dr. Bui. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my experience at MBO. My smile brings me joy, and this has been the best investment I've made in myself. I initially had a great first impression of Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics. Dr. Kimberly Bui was extremely well-mannered, professional, and made me feel comfortable. She explained everything well, and I was excited to move forward with treatment. However, once I had questions regarding payment options and treatment differences, my experience with the management team went downhill. I originally reached out weeks before my appointment to ask about payment flexibility--specifically whether I could make deposits toward the $3,000 down payment before starting treatment. I received no response. However, once I booked an appointment to discuss aligner options (Invisalign vs. Angel Aligners) and financing, they suddenly responded--but instead of answering my questions, they canceled my appointment without even speaking to me. Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, I received a cold, impersonal email from the management team stating that my financial agreement could not be changed (even though I never asked for modifications, just clarification). It felt like they had already flagged me as a financial risk without even speaking to me. When I finally spoke with their assistant manager, she was polite and professional, but it was clear that their decision had already been made before the conversation even happened. It felt like corporate damage control rather than an actual effort to help a potential patient. To make things worse, after canceling my appointment without my input, they later emailed me saying I could reschedule--but now with a $50 consultation fee. This was incredibly frustrating since I had already been ignored for weeks and then dismissed unfairly. First consultation: Everyone was so friendly and nice! An assistant took photos and x-rays of my teeth. Then the orthodontist went over the possible treatment plan for Invisalign. Finally an office manager went over the details of payment and shared helpful information about the treatment process. They gave me some time to consider a contract with them before I had to pay which I appreciated. It's pretty competitive pricing compared to other Invisalign providers at the same Diamond tier. The attachment process was not that pleasant. Some of the stuff they used got onto my tongue and it burned. An assistant put the attachments on with the tray before the orthodontist came to take a final look. Wait times have never been more than 15 minutes (except when getting attachments since that's an hour long procedure). That's a given since we're only here to pick up new aligners. Rescheduling appointments is also a breeze. There's a mini claw machine by the elevators which require tokens that the office gives you at each visit. I think this is aimed to keep teenagers compliant but I saw some pretty cute prizes I would've liked to try to get too! The office's bathroom is always nice and clean which is always appreciated! Update- it's been a year into treatment and everything is going well. I wanted to wait until after my orthodontic treatment to write my review on MBO. I've had braces before as a child, and didn't have a good experience with my orthodontist, and wasn't happy with the end result of my treatment. When I finally decided to get Invisalign, I did my research and made sure to find a doctor that was the right fit for me. Prior to visiting MBO, I went on 3-4 Invisalign consultations with various other orthodontists. Once I came across MBO, I scheduled a consultation ($50, which will be deducted from your treatment), and instantly knew that this is where I wanted to get my Invisalign treatment done. I met with Dr. Jenny and expressed my fears of getting orthodontic treatment again, especially as an adult. She was extremely understanding ensured me that I would be in good hands. She initially recommended that I get braces for a better outcome, but I opted for the Invisalign because I just couldn't endure the trauma of metal braces again. After I met with Dr. Jenny, I met with Kelvin, the office manager, who walked me through the financial portion of the treatment. MBO is super flexible because they give you various payment plan options to choose from. This is really helpful, because many places I've visited previously don't even so a 1:1 sit down with patients. Financing Invisalign is a huge investment, so I was relieved to have someone to consult the finance portion with. Once I started the actual treatment, I was switched from Dr. Jenny to Dr. Victor, who is equally as amazing. Dr. Victor provided me with the most quality care. He was extremely patient with me, given my previous negative experiences with other orthodontists, and he was also very thorough during the check in appointments. I was looking for a place to get replacement retainers. I didn't want to go back to my original ortho (many many years ago anyway). I chose MBO because it's a highly rated ortho specialist. I figured a clinic that only does braces is better than a general dentist. I booked an appointment via email and mentioned I want retainers not full on braces. They immediately responded by telling me the prices for all three retainer options without me asking: 1. In-house clear retainers $250 for top or bottom, $500 for top and bottom 2. Hawley retainers $350 for top or bottom, $700 for top and bottom 3. Vivera retainers $500 for top or bottom, $1000 for top and bottom, set of 4 (does this mean four of each or four total pieces idk) - First day When I arrived they took my temperature and I waited less than 5min before they took me in. I like the smell of their waiting area. It's very spacious too, maybe 30-40 seats. I was brought into a room and was asked to wash my hands and rinse my mouth. The sink looks nice and has a clean and clear mirror. The assistant, Sum, asked me my braces history. Then she took some photos of my teeth and face from different angles. I'm amused she sanitized the camera afterwards. Poor camera. I was originally going to get Hawley because it seemed more durable and worth the price. The assistant was going to get me the in-house clear ones by default. I mentioned I was thinking of Hawley instead. Sum asked Dr. Bui to come in. Dr. Bui examined my teeth and explained that since my teeth have shifted since getting braces, the wire on the Hawley won't be sufficient to hold my teeth in place (I didn't want to pay to redo braces so getting a retainer to keep it the way as is will suffice for now. Appreciate no one pushed me to get full on braces either). She also checked that I don't have teeth grinding problem so the clear ones shouldn't be a problem for me. I accept this explanation and decided to go with Dr. Bui's recommendation. Then Sum proceeded to scan my teeth. I'm impressed they use this scanner instead of using the putty mold tbt my old orthodontist. The back of my teeth were harder to reach, so Sum had to pass over a few more times. I wasn't getting braces so no need to get an x-ray. I asked to pause making the retainer since I was going to the general dentist right after. Ended up no changes to my teeth so I called to have the retainers made. Otherwise I would've been able to pickup retainers end of day. Now I have to go the next day. It's ok i can wait. - Second day I arrived to pick up/try on the retainers. They took me in within 5min again. This time I went to the room past the hallway, sat on the seats on the right side. There's sinks and walls in between chairs. The left side only has chairs without dividers. Not sure what's the difference. When I arrived, my retainers were already placed on the tray for me. Hygienist Linda(?) trimmed the retainers on the spot and let me try them on. She chatted with me a little about how it should feel and how to take care of them. Having gone through traditional metal braces and the Hawley retainer, it feels funny getting these clear retainers that wrap around the whole teeth. Then I met Dr. Zhu to check it looks all good. Then I was sent off. The retainers come with a 30 day warranty. If anything happens to them after that and I need to get new ones, I'll have to pay the full price again, no discount. Appreciate how wait times are short, doctors are friendly, each step in the process felt smooth, no pushiness/up selling, and decor was clean and modern. Side note. They have an office dog called Porkchop. I saw a toy fake version of it at a cabinet next to the hallway entrance. I saw the real thing behind the front desk the second day. He(?) seems really chill! **LATE REVIEW (Sorry!)** Wow! I had such a great experience at Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics!  I was on YouTube one night and came across a video, I watched it, and was "sold!" Everything about it made me want to call and schedule an appointment immediately! After going to other orthodontists that weren't a right fit for me, I decided to call Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics.   Upon arrival, the waiting area is colorful and inviting.  Karen was welcoming, checked me in, and I only waited a few minutes before I was called for the first part of the consultation.  Once I was in the examination room, I was informed to rinse my mouth with mouthwash.  Salma asked me a few general questions before she began to take photos of my teeth.  After all the photos were taken, I then met with Dr. Zhu.  She was patient, had excellent "bedside manner", and explained the best braces and the length of time it would take me to have them on.    The last part of my consultation was to review the financials.  I met with Karen again and she went over the different types of plans.  Overall, my experience was beyond excellent and extremely thorough.  The office and rooms were modern and squeaky clean. From beginning to end, my visit was more than I had expected and I felt comfortable being there. From Karen, Salma, and Dr. Zhu, they each took the time to explain each process.  They were all excellent and I could tell they are caring with their patients. This review is so long overdue. I went to Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics because they were recommended to me by several individuals. One of whom was the receptionist at my dentists / ortho office. I was well into my 40's when I decided to finally get braces. The entire experience was just amazing!! The staff at MBO were always so polite and welcoming. The office was always pristine but even more so during COVID. Dr. Jenny Zhu, Dr. Victor Chiang, and Dr. Kimberly Bui and their staff were always gentle when it came to tightening my braces. I've heard people complain about how uncomfortable it was for them at other offices. But not at MBO, they were very moderated and gentle but still made the timeline when the braces had to come off. It is very sad. After my wife posted a negative review, a 5 stars review was immediately posted. Here is my issue with this business. Like Facebook, profit is more important than the patient - my 11 years old son. My son has seen Dr. Chiang for a few years and he liked him. Now, he is ready for braces. We have approved by the insurance that the service is 100% covered. However, the doctor office asks us to pay $800 even it is 100% covered (see the invoice). We also ask the insurance to call the doctor office and to confirm the coverage. Worse, the doctor office refuses and they do not want to see my son because we report this $800 charge to the insurance company. It is very important to know that if you have Medicaid for your kids, the braces is 100% covered. You should not have to pay a penny. If you have questions, call your insurance company. My overall experience at MBO is good. I would give a four star for their clean office, nice staff, good doctors, flexible appointment scheduling, and reasonable price. But I have to modify the aligner myself each time to avoid cutting the gum of back molar. No one has told me that this could happen until I experienced irritations and discomfort several times during the treatment. I love Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics! Thanks. BEFORE I researched getting Invisalign for over a year: I spoke with two doctors in Manhattan, and even two in Europe trying to shop for a lower price. I even did an initial consultation with SmileDirectClub. Ultimately I went with MBO because their price was affordable (I paid up front and got a slight discount) and the staff was really knowledgable and friendly. AFTER I'm happy to say I feel I made the right choice. When I paid the initial fee I still thought the process was expensive, "How can Invisalign be over $4000" But after seeing how many fittings, followup and attention MBO gave me I felt that it was well worth the price. For example, in one year I was given 22 sets of Invisalign, I went in for about 6 or 7 checkups, there were Xrays, photos, moldings taken, etc etc. WAS IT PAINFUL? Yes and no. At first the process was uncomfortable -- but after 2 weeks (and with the doctor's reassurance) after a few weeks I was wearing them everyday and would forget I had them on. My advice would be stick through the first two weeks, and that it gets dramatically better. WHY NOT SMILEDIRECTCLUB (or something cheaper)? After going through the process with MBO, I couldn't imagine using a service where a orthodontist wasn't there to observe the process. For example, a few times in the process the orthodontist had to sand and/or adjust my teeth manually. Having this care and 1on1 attention through each step gave me piece of mind, and ultimately I think ensured the process was painless and effective. read more

This is a long overdue review. I went on several consultations prior where the price for Invisalign were either quite high or the doctor didn't seem like a good fit. The office here is immaculate, staff is very professional and they laid out the payment options well. Price was very reasonable, and Dr. Zhu was always so pleasant. One thing to keep in mind is definitely don't slip in how many hours you wear the retainers, as you may have to redo or prolong your treatment and it wasn't necessarily picked up during my checkups that I wasn't on the right track. The office setup isn't a private room but in an open setting with several other patients scattered about the room, but everyone is focused on getting their own treatment and this way there are more available appointment slots. I remember the first time I came in for a consultation Oct 2013, fast forward 2 and half years later, I am still in disbelief that my journey to straight teeth has been accomplished!!! Being in my mid to late 30's, I finally decided I wanted to smile with straight teeth. It was never really an issue to me honestly, rarely got regular checkups/cleaning until my company provided dental insurance. If I didnt have a toothache, that would mean no trip to the dentist (im sure many people think that way). Once I got dental insurance, I made it priority to make sure my teeth was in good health. They were NOT in good health. I had cavities and root canals, which took time to fix. It not only took time, it costs a lot of money. After about 3 years to get everything to be healthy, I made the decision to get them straight. I suffered from crooked, overcrowding, buck teeth for all my life. Through online research/reviews and recommendations, I visited Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics. I was determined to get my teeth straight regardless of traditional braces or Invisalign. The staff had my teeth scanned/x-rayed. After that, Dr. Zhu spoke to me about my options on traditional braces and Invisilign. When Dr. Zhu said i was a candidate (i thought everyone was a candidate) for Invisalign, I was more than ecstatic, meaning the foodie that I am, i can eat when needed and not have to worry about traditional braces getting in the way. She also said it wasnt going to be a short period and that it was going to take awhile. Since I was determined, I wasnt going to let time get in my way or an excuse to not get them. Anyways, after consulting with Dr. Zhu, I spoke to the Kalvin Lee (the General Manager), he gave me options on payments plans, very accommodating to how and when i would like to pay. Invisalign is not cheap, but the results I received, its well worth the investment. It took a couple of weeks before I got my first visit to try on the Invisaligns. It was very simple, the staff made sure I wore it and took it off correctly and even show me tips on how to clean the invisaligners, and how you can use the Invisaligners as trays for at home teeth whitening. You take home about 5-6 sets (2 weeks per set) with you per visit. During your last set, you would visit Dr. Zhu again, she would make sure everything is going according to plan. There is NOT one visit where the Orthodontist does not speak to you. MBO always scheduled my appointments according to my schedule. I have never waited more than 5mins during my scheduled appointments. When your appointment is at 1pm, you see the staff at 1pm. Whenever I needed to reschedule, they always made it priority to give me the date/time I needed. You get an email about your appointment and then another email prior to your appointment. Never overbearing emails. Now that my treatment is over, I dont know how its going to be not visiting MBO. I was so use to visiting once every 2 weeks or so, and setting bi-weekly reminders to change invisligners. I will definitely stop by to say hi and give them a big smile. Without them, I wouldnt be where I am today, with teeth showing in my smiles and pictures. I was a patient with MBO from 2015/2016 to 2018 and I went back once a year for a checkup after that till 2021. Nice office (especially after they relocated), the staff are nice and really good about rescheduling you if you miss/cancel, even last minute. Wait times never exceeded 15 minutes. After my consultation, I chose to get invisalign which was about 1.5x more expensive than regular braces and estimated to take a year longer. I chose it mostly for cosmetic reasons which I regret slightly because my teeth have relapsed a noticeable amount, even though I've always been super good about wearing my retainers cause im super paranoid about my teeth moving back. I remember bringing up my concerns to the assistants/doctors about 6 months after the end of my treatment because I felt some minor changes in some of my teeth but they kind of brushed me off. The assistants were insistent that everything is just as it was at the end of my treatment which was kind of annoying cause like... it's my teeth and my bite I can feel when things are changing/different. The doctors told me that some movement is natural which I did read online and I dropped it. Ended up having to get a new retainer a year and half after the end of treatment cause my old one wasnt fitting as well even though I followed all the time frames for how long to wear my retainers for. Also, I was confused at the end of treatment when Dr. Jenny informed me that Invisalign was the way to go for me cause I would've had have to remove 4 teeth for braces... which, intuitively (although I have no dentistry experience/knowledge) made no sense to me cause i did get some teeth shaved during the tray process but the total sum shaved is even equivalent to ONE tooth. Also, found out at the end that orthodontics changes ur jaw shape and was never told this at the beginning or during the process, maybe I should have done my own research but I was like 15 going into it so it never even occurred to me. Been reading a lot of other testimonies and experiences from people who had Invisalign and seems like in general, the relapse rate is wayyyyy higher for people who've had it vs people who got traditional braces. And that it's usually best for people who need minor changes etc. I'm probably going to get back on braces for 1 year to straighten them out again since I'm in a career field where my smile matters some. This is the best dental office in Chinatown. I came here looking for the easiest option to straighten my teeth. There are multiple different payment plans you can do and it is interests free. I am highly satisfied with my overall Invisalign experience at Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics. They have the latest equipment in a very clean and modern facility. The staff is very professional and polite. I had Dr. Jenny and she was super friendly and nice and I had a pretty painless experience. After reading several yelp reviews, speaking to my dentist, and actually coming here for an initial consultation with Dr. Wan, I knew this was there place that I wanted to be. After 16 months of office visits, two 3d teeth scans, and 34 Invisalign trays, my crowded teeth was finally straightened. I am very happy with the results and their overall customer service. I recently had my final appointment to remove my braces and I am in awe of how great of a job Dr. Jenny and her team has done. I have recommended MBO to anyone that has ever asked me where they should go for orthodontic treatment because my experience with MBO was astounding. I had a severe case of an open bite. The open bite made it very difficult for me to speak and eat. I've visited three orthodontist before Dr. Jenny and 3/3 of them informed me that I needed surgery in order to fix my bite. Surgery was the last thing I wanted to do to fix my bite but most of those orthodontist didn't really seem to care or listen to my case. I decided to get one last opinion before I accept undergoing surgery to fix my bite. I did a lot of research to find the best orthodontist I can possibly find and luckily, I came across MBO and Dr. Jenny. At MBO I had the option to fix my bite through braces or Invisalign and not surgery. I began my treatment back in 2015 and finished in 2018. I now have a beautiful smile that I can show off to everyone. I'm very grateful. Through multiple appointments, I also realized that MBO really cares about putting the best smile on everyone's face and is there to build a bond with their patients. I was able to create strong relationships such as the one I have with Kalvin, who works at the front desk. It was exciting every time I come in for an appointment because I would have the chance to catchup with Kalvin and discuss everything that happened between my last appointment and my current appointment. I just want to say Yoo Hoo! I am under great care with Dr. Wan and if you ever come to this place you want to request for her. She is really an Ortho with great perfection; she really is determined to make my horrible teeth back to almost PERFECTA so yes I do recommend this place. She has the tipsy artsy mind which she wants you to reach that perfect smile. My teeth is horrible missing 3 teeth in the back; yet Dr. Wan is hopeful that she can make adjustment with my teeth not to look imbalanced and perfectly aligned. Price is quality and they have payment plan. In addition staffs are accommodating and the office is super great looking so what more can you want. Dr. Wan is THE BEST!!! She is like a ray of sunshine on any cloudy day (or sunny day), my visits were always filled with joy because of her and the entire MBO staff. They're extremely friendly, professional, and reliable. And I am not exaggerating - I personally felt that all of my concerns were addressed and taken care of, with no rush/intimidation. Yesterday was my last day of Invisalign, I am actually sad to be finished with my regular visits b/c I'm going to miss this place. MBO was one of the 3 offices I consulted w/ last year. Compared to the other offices (located from Midtown to East Village), MBO had the most thorough treatment plan with the best price. I had braces in high school but never wore my retainers, so my teeth moved around quite a bit. It wasn't terrible but I have some under-bite and the corners made it hard to clean, I felt it needed some straightening. One other office for example, quoted me w/ a 9-month plan at a price $500 higher than MBO's 12-month quote (both came with an extra 3 month buffer period). I appreciated that Dr. Wan felt more time was needed to fixing my teeth, and at our consultation she explained all the details of the treatment and what the end-result would look like (a lot better than the other offices). I felt she was more open/honest in comparison, as I really do not like "surprise fees" which is what you can expect from offices that are more tight-lipped. I also appreciated all of the time she spent with me to answer the many questions I had, I didn't feel rushed and felt that I had enough time and info to consider everything before committing. In the end, my entire treatment ended up being 17-months long with no additional costs. Dr. Wan wanted to make sure my teeth were perfect, and that I would be completely happy at the end of the treatment, I mean.. we've come this far. By 12-months, she had made a new set of Invisalign for the touch-ups and as we finished, she helped polished and shaped my teeth so that it would look more symmetrical (I do not have the prettiest teeth). My retainers were also designed to do some extra aligning (that final push for everything to line up together). I cannot stop smiling! I do not have the prettiest teeth (in shape/texture) but I am so happy with my end-result. So high yield points... this office is extremely professional! I never had to wait more than 5-10 mins for my appointment, despite them being booked all the time! Definitely request Dr. Wan, she is wonderful to work with and a perfectionist :) And lastly, I do not think you can find prices any better than here, for this kind of heart-warming service. read more

I just completed orthodontic treatment of my open bite with Invisalign with MBO. I don't think any 24 yr old is particularly thrilled about getting braces/Invisalign, but they made me feel comfortable and I am so glad that I did it. Over the two year treatment the Manhattan Bridge Ortho consistently proved that they were committed to providing a great experience for their clients. The office is a very welcoming space and it is clear that all enjoy working there. Their positivity is contagious. I travel a lot for work, often times with little to no notice, and the MBO team was always willing to accommodate me by shifting appointments last minute or even shipping new sets of trays when I was out of town for an extended period of time. They always greet you in person and over the phone with positivity and dedication to providing a great treatment. The doctors are very experienced and were willing to take on my challenging open bite case without hesitation. During consultations prior to beginning treatment at MBO many other orthodontists told me they were unwilling to treat my open bite without jaw surgery. After completing the treatment I can now chew with front and back teeth! They also addressed crowding on the bottom. Thank you Dr. Zhu, Dr. Chiang, and Dr. Wan for always answering any questions with a smile! I would highly recommend working with MBO for your Invisalign treatment. For those worried about COVID-19, the office has reopened and they implemented a medical screening survey that all clients must fill out prior to appointment.
