A small local quaint breakfast spot that we stumbled upon one morning after a ski trip. Coming from a big city I was blown away by the prices, $5 for French toast !!!! Count me in! The French toast was delicious, felt like your grandmothers cooking. The coffee was fine, what you would expect from an establishment like this. Would probably not order the orange juice again (it had that from concentrate taste). The model trail and quirky framed pictures really gave this spot personality, and the two ladies working were very sweet. If you're in Ligonier this couldn't be more central. TLDR version, seems to be an okay place if you are a local but don't bother if you are looking for something even remotely memorable. Being from out of town, we were looking for a special spot for lunch with the same charm and draw of Ligonier overall. During our selection process I had written off some other reviews talking about how the fact that this is a local scene detracted from the experience. When we arrived, three of the six tables in the place were occupied by a group of locals talking about whatever. No problem, great, glad there is a sense of community, but the closeness of the seating and the setup of the place meant that me and my spouse didn't really have our own conversation. We weren't invited into the conversation dominating the entire place but did have to listen to it, including the cringe comments on a couple different social issues of the day. I wouldn't normally mention the conversations of patrons in a review but by the same token this business felt the need to display some fake Trump $1,000,000 note on the cash register. The inside decor of the place feels tired, lots of old articles on the walls and a random collection of trains, Elvis, and classic car stuff. All faded/fading. Our server appeared to have just rolled out of bed, threw on a miscellaneous t-shirt, some crocs, and showed up to work. The menu consists mostly of stuff you probably already make at home. There are more options/distinctive items however at the GetGo gas station down the street. For what it was, the food we had was good and the pricing is at least commensurate with the food. These factors saved the two stars in the rating. Wishing we would have walked out shortly after sitting down. Ligonier has so much more to offer. Stumbled across this little diner, tucked away off of the diamond in Ligonier. From the electric train running on the track above your head to postcards from all different locations framed on the wall, this little place is quite charming. Simple, diner, menu with all of the basics. Definitely a spot where out-of-towners stick out and everybody knows everybody. hubby got the vegetarian omelette and I got home fries. Worst service ever. Did not bring our drinks, had to go ask for them. Our coffee cups were half full when finally given to me and we never got refills. Then we didn't get our bill. Food was okay but the service ruined it. read more

This cozy, little diner (tucked back in a corner beside the Methodist Church) was a wonderful discovery for hubs and me. We were in Ligonier for the town-wide Christmas Open House to do a little shopping and see the Christmas decorations. We got hungry and the first restaurant we tried was closing early. We continued our walk and found this little gem. It's very small, but the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The menu was American diner, food. No fuss or muss. We ordered the hamburgers served with chips and dill pickles, plus a side of zucchini fries. The hamburgers were very good and I will go back for more of those zucchini fries. Prices were very reasonable. I like the decor with framed postcards from all locations. There's an electric train running on a track right below the ceiling. We enjoyed our time here as the owner and his staff were laid back, yet attentive. Lots of humor between the employees, owner and customers. read more

Really cozy place, staff was welcoming, they were packed full but no complaints on the service and the smiling staff. Me and my wife both got burgers but we both thought the potato buns (we guessed) were very stale and crumbly-- it was late on a Sunday which may explain. Burgers were ok something was not quite right, maybe needed more char or maybe they weren't the freshest either. read more

This is your classic downtown diner. Just be sure you say the town's name correctly or the locals will have a fit! It's lig-ah-neer for the record. And there is an electric train that runs over your head all the way around this cute spot. Recommend this for the charm - but don't expect fancy. read more

Very cute local feeling cafe in the heart of town. All the women behind the counter felt like family and the customers all seemed to be a part of a coffee klatch. Wish I had a picture of this place but... I stopped by this town in the fall of 2006 so I uploaded some cute americana decorations that the town put up for Halloween. read more

We showed up at 2:25 pm today and walked in the door and immediately got told that they closing soon, at 3. I thought it was pretty cheesy for them to anxiously kick us out when we had 35 minutes to order and eat. I could understand 10 minutes before but that was a little extreme. read more
