After checking out some mostly positive reviews for this place, I decided to get my hair cut here while I was out running errands. Back in 2020, during the pandemic, I got my hair cut at a place in Truckee (it's in my review history). It's the best haircut I've ever gotten, so I took pictures of it for reference. I've tried a few hair salons in the general Evergreen area, and none of them have ever gotten it quite right. Until Mindy at Diamond Cuts. I showed her a few pictures of the haircut. She took a few moments to zoom in on a couple of them, then got to work. She took her time, asked for feedback, and made adjustments as she worked. We made some light conversation, but it didn't take away from her focus on my hair. When it was all done, I was very happy with the results. The sides blend perfectly into the rest of the hair. I decided super last minute to trim my hair and I called around a few spots to see who could take me at short notice. When I called the lady said that they she available but unable to give me a price estimate over the phone until she saw my hair. I got the trim and she did a pretty good job but I asked to keep my bangs long so it did not cover my forehead but she did not. I now I have side bangs that I have to clip up to keep out of my eyes. It also would have been nice if she offered to wash before cutting my hair because I just finished a hike and my hair was nappy and messy. She did offer to style my hair at the end but I declined. I paid $30 + tip She didn't really talk to me during the session so it was super quiet and kinda awkward. There wasn't any music playing so you could hear everything especially with just the two of us there. But when I was leaving I think is when her playlist started to work. First Mindy nicked my head with clippers and didn't think to apologize when I politely asked her to "please be more careful." Then during a brief pause while she changed tools, I rubbed the area of my head that felt hurt, but I did not comment. However, she commented to say "I don't know what's wrong with your head, I did not do anything to you." I found this rude and called her out for not even apologizing. She then reluctantly apologized and completely rushed the rest of the haircut. I was scared she would nick my head again, so I stayed silent and didn't ask for any adjustments from that point on. She charges a cheap price, $21, so in the end you get what you pay for. read more

There is one hair stylist that works here. She is kind. I came here twice now. I usually just come in for a trim and ask for it to be straight cut across. She usually just cuts my hair as is and just sprays it to dampen my hair. My hair sometimes is a little choppy for this reason. $20 for a hair cut. I wouldn't go here if you care more than I do about your hair. I come here for trims just because there is usually no wait and she's not super busy. read more

My girls needed a trim so I came here because it was close & the reviews were pretty good. Boy was I disappointed. From other reviews I guess the owner is named Mai and she's the one that helped us. She cut both my daughters' hair uneven. My youngest went first so when I saw it was kinda uneven, I chalked it up to her moving her head. With my second it seemed better but it was still uneven. I pointed it out on both girls and she seemed to try to fix it but couldn't. It was like the more she touched it, the worse it became. It was also hard to communicate with her because she doesn't speak English. Also, while she was doing the last haircut a customer came in and you could see how she was trying to hurry so he wouldn't leave. By that point we had been there for almost an hour and I was ready to go. I should have listened to my gut and paid more $$$ for a better haircut. Do not go here please. I wouldn't recommend place to cut your hair. The lady that wear glasses doesn't seem to know what she doing. I have never seen a hair cut place that use a blade to cut their client entire hair. I was so confused and nervous because through out the time there she only used a blade to cut my hair. It is the worst haircut in my life. My hair was long and it already shaped from a previous hair style and all I ask for is to cut my dead end and little short. She went ahead and cut my hair super short at my shoulder length without me asking. I was so hurt and disappointed to see my hair being chopped off. Please don't go here and save your money. Don't want to write a bad review but I had to. Come and asked for the layere trim, I asked her for help me to keep the same length of my hair. The cut was nice, however I got the shorter hair after the cut. You can easily compare the before and after the after was much shorter than before. I wanted to have the thinner hair only. Gave this place a try because of grand opening/nice little reviews. I believe she was the owner-she was nice nothing crazy. She squeezed me in for a cut. I sit down i show her what I wanted and I thought she understood the assignment but she didn't. All I wanted was a little trim and my face framing pieces to be cut up to the bottom of my lip which I expressed. She cut so much off of my hair like 3-4 inches when I was expecting 1-2inches.... I am writing this review for my visit on 7/7/2023. I decided to cut my hair on a whim and found this place on Yelp! I did a walk in around 5:30 - there were 3 men's haircut before me. I didn't mind waiting since it was a Friday evening and I didn't have anything to do anyway! Mindy, the owner said that it's less busy during the daytime hours so it's probably best to go then if you don't want to wait! Mindy also cut my hair and I got it shampooed as well... It was a full on head massage, which was so relaxing and enjoyable!!! She also offered to wash my face which I accepted. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I love my hair! Walked in for a hair wash with no expectations and walked out feeling like I paid 4 times as much at a head spa. Mindy helped me relax completely, which is pretty much impossible for me to do. She spent a good 15 minutes just massaging my scalp-- I prefer a more "scratchy" head massage, so her style suited me. Finally, I had time to get a haircut today, so I stopped by Diamond Cuts Salon. The owner, Mindy was very professional and made sure to cut as my initial desire. She really took her time to trim and to cut my hair nicely. FYI, my hair is always thick and wavy, and I'm a picky customer as well lol. We also had a nice chit chat throughout the haircut. So I'm very satisfied with my haircut today and will be back soon for another service. Almost forgot to mention that the price is very reasonable compared to other salons. I have A LOT of hair and it's thick but she managed to have me in and out within 40 minutes (which is super good considering how long and thick/curly my hair is). Pretty good at high fades. I've been doing disconnected combovers for ~10 years now, and she got what I wanted pretty quickly. It's a small and new business. I know reviews matter a lot to the health of these places. $19 for a men's haircut. Consistent work once you appropriately communicate what you want.
