Super great experience with Kimmi, I'm in love with my hair right now, love the color and she did a great job styling my curly hair without much prior experience. I booked with Kimmi knowing that she wasn't one of the curly specialists at the salon, but I really wanted to get my color done within the week (having the bottom half of my hair match my dark brown roots). I went into the appointment totally fine with leaving with wet hair since I normally air dry anyway. Kimmi took the time to ask one of the other curl specialists what product she should put in my hair, and got tips on how to brush style. She took more time and care into my hair than I normally do for myself, it air dried beautifully. In general, this salon does such an amazing job of taking care of curly hair, Ive also had an appointment with Giselle in the past, who is a curly specialist, and she is amazing and absolutely knows her stuff. Finally got to get a curly cut from the amazing Gissell and let me tell you she did not disappoint. The salon itself is super cutesy, the front staff was lovely she offered me a beverage and checked me in super quickly. There's so much to look at from the wall of products to the screen on the side playing super helpful tips and product recommendations. Gissell is not only incredibly talented in the craft of curly cuts but she is such a sweet person in general. I felt comfortable sharing past experiences as well as what I wanted this time. She listened to each and every concern I had and every step of the way made sure I was happy with the outcome. The curly cut I chose had wash and style in it and wow that conditioner massage was too good! She let me know all the products she was using on my hair as well as giving me tips on how to style my hair and what products to use at home!! Which I so appreciated because taking care of curly hair is hard! I've gotten a curly cut before and it was nowhere near this good. I recently visited Fox & Rose Salon for a color service with Rachael. I had a consultation beforehand where we discussed my hair history and the look I wanted. The salon's website encouraged clients to share their full hair history, and I did that because I know color can be difficult to get right. Based on our conversation, I left with the understanding that achieving my desired result would not be an issue. I want to say that I really like the salon itself. The space is lovely, the atmosphere is positive, the staff are welcoming, and the client experience feels thoughtful. Unfortunately, the color service was very disappointing. I came in with grown-out, uneven color and asked for an overall lighter golden brown with a dimensional dusty rose balayage. I also brought reference photos to the appointment. The final result was not close to what we discussed. Instead of a soft, blended look, my hair had stripe-like sections, and the rose tone faded almost immediately. Five days later, after only one wash, all of the pink is gone, and the color still looks uneven and brassy in places. See attached photos (the pink reference is what I asked for and the other 2 photos are what I got). What was most frustrating was the lack of discussion at the end of the appointment. It seemed clear that the result was not what I had asked for, but I was not shown the back of my hair, and there was no real conversation about the outcome or possible next steps. I did not raise it in the moment because I had already been there for several hours and wanted time to look at it fully before judging the final result. For a service that cost over $700, I expected something more polished and aligned with the consultation. I understand that hair coloring is not an exact science, but I do think it is important to be realistic about what can be achieved and to address it openly when the outcome does not match the client's expectations. I may still return to Fox & Rose for a haircut because I genuinely liked the salon environment! For color services, though, I would just caution clients to be very clear about expectations, share their full hair history, and be prepared that the result may not match what was discussed. read more

I found Gisselle on Tiktok after watching a bunch of curly haircut videos. I'm glad I was able to find someone local in the Bay Area. Gisselle works in Fox & Rose Salon. I love the vibe of this salon. I am not familiar with Los Gatos but their salon is I believe in the middle of their downtown. They do have their own parking lot in the back of their salon. I do love the fact that they have a receptionist whose managing the front of their office. They offer drinks and snacks which is always a good plus when you go to salons. I do love how this salon is set up. Everything matches, from their carts to the stations. The aesthetic was really pretty and it fits their location. I booked my complete curly haircut appt with Gisselle back in December and my appointment with her was last week. She does get pretty booked up so it's good to schedule in advance. I did the complete curly haircut because this was my first time and I needed to learn the whole process on how to take care of my natural curls. Gisselle's consultation was perfect. I told her my hair history and expressed to her how I want to embrace my natural hair and she pretty much helped me with that. Gisselle is so used to what she is doing that when the appt said 2 hours I was pretty much out the door in two hours. I loved everything about my hair. Gisselle explained to me how the process is and how to take care of my hair. All the products I needed to use. I am glad they weren't forcing me to buy any of their products, they even told me to take a picture of it so know which ones I needed. Of course some of the products were cheaper outside that was a given already but I'm glad they weren't pushy about it. I will definitely be back, I actually already booked my next two appointments. I was able to book an artist here before 9 am and it was quite easy, very accommodating. She actually came in when the place wasn't fully open for my appointment so that was greatly appreciated. Did a Single Process Hair Color with Esly ! I highly recommend this salon and Esly to anyone on the hunt to find a new hair stylist. When I walked in, I was welcomed so warmly with an affirmation card and a drink of choice. They offer a wide selection from sodas, water, wine, champagne, to coffee. I opted for the oat vanilla latte so warm and just what I needed for a self care day. Then Esly swooped in and I showed her what I wanted and she made it possible but adjusting to my skin tone. I love my hair and how healthy it feels. She even took the time to give me an amazing scalp massage during the wash. I left the salon feeling beautiful and well taken care of. I have wavy/curly hair and went on their website and saw the various options for a curly hair cut and conditioning treatment. I did the Complete Curl Edit. They have an awesome website with the price listing (very transparent). For years, hair stylists always wanted to make my hair straight. It wasn't until my hair stylist in San Jose styled it wavy that I realized it did not have to be flat ironed and stick straight if that wasn't my natural state. I wanted to learn what products would help me style my hair. Alona was great. She walked through everything she was doing and at the end she gave me a card that had all the instructions and products. There were a lot of products that were used on my hair, so I will do some research. I really loved the way Alona diffused my hair. This salon is so cute and you can buy drinks but they also have sparkling water as a courtesy and other drinks. You can tell they put in a lot of effort into giving you a great experience. Although I ended up loving the cut, while cutting my hair the stylist mentioned several times the challenge of working with the layers I already had. She styled it, and did so as pictured in several of the pics on their website. When she was done I asked if she thought the style was flattering to my face. She answered "well, it's a look." Yes it was and although I'm sure the styling would look great on many, it definitely did not in me. Rachel is a great teacher. She washed my hair. Then at my request - showed me how to use the diffuser on half my hair and taught me blow dry on the other half. I brought my own Shark blow dryer in and she taught me on that. I was looking for a salon in LG that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and had good vibes. Lucky me, Yelp helped me find Fox&Rose. First off, I have to command the owners for creating such an incredible place. As soon as you walk in, this place feels super welcoming. You can tell everyone loves being here because of all the smiles. Everyone is down. Besides the amazing people, they also have a great amount of snacks (yay), as well as soft drinks and aloholic beverages (double yay) for you to enjoy during the visit. As of this wasn't enough, they have a rewards program that allows you to sample some of their products, gives you a free treatment around your birthday, and other perks. Customer centricity is HUGE! As for the service, I met with Tiana for a consultation first and then scheduled my first appointment for a root touchup. During the touch up, she kept me informed about every step she was taking and I felt very comfortable with her. She did a beautiful job styling my hair and I left the salon pretty happy. When I got home and saw my color in the natural light, I noticed that it had a bit of a silvery hue, which I didn't like. My hair is VERY temperamental and it's impossible to get the color right the first time, so it wasn't her fault at all. I sent her a message via Instagram explaining my concern and she offered for me to come back and get it fixed. She knew exactly what to do and my hair turned out great.
