Unfortunately this experience has been nothing short of a DISASTER!! The LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM & ATTENTION TO DETAIL was DISAPPOINTING. Just as I did nearly 30 years ago I also returned to the outstanding jeweler my husband purchased my beautiful princess cut 2.02 G color grade/S12 clarity diamond stone for a 2nd appraisal which included the upgraded engagement band and the new wedding band, work Michael AGNELLO signed off on and thank goodness I did. Just like anything in life a 2nd opinion, especially when a substantial cost is incurred is beneficial, this is what was discovered & what transpired THE PRINCESS CUT DIAMOND IN MY UPGRADED ENGAGEMENT BAND WAS LOOSE, THE STONE ITSELF WAS NOT CENTERED PROPERLY. THE TINGE WAS NOT MATCHED PROPERLY, WHICH EXPLAINED THE VISIBLE YELLOWING BETWEEN THE NEW WEDDING BAND IN CONTRAST WITH MY UPGRADED ENGAGEMENT BAND. BOTH OF THESE DISAPPOINTING ERRORS, LED TO ADDITIONAL EXPENSES, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIAL RISK OF LOSING THE STONE, WHICH IS ALARMING.!!!! THE APPRAISAL(s) MICHAEL AGNELLO SIGNED OFF ON WERE INCOMPLETE, INACCURATE even worse they DID NOT REFLECT THE CORRECT NUMBER OF DIAMONDS AND THEIR VALUE, NO PHOTOS WERE INCLUDED, ADDITIONALLY BOTH HAD THE WRONG DATE/YEAR WHICH RAISES CONCERNS ABOUT ITS RELIABILITY. NO INSURANCE AGENCY WOULD FIND THIS ACCEPTABLE. WHILE AT THE 2nd APPRAISAL APPOINTMENT I CALLED MICHAEL ON HIS CELL PHONE TO ADDESS MY CONCERNS. I had his personal cell # because he phoned me when he understood my initial visit in September was nothing short of a disappointment, he advised me he doesn't like his customers to leave disappointed, this too is misleading as well because it's the end of the year and the disaster goes on While at my appointment for my 2nd appraisal I did advise Michael he was on speaker conveying my concerns. Additionally I advised I tipped the sales lady, Michael was quick to respond "my staff knows not to accept tips" he immediately asked the tipped sales lady about accepting my tip and she was heard replying "I gave it to you" This contradictory information from the owner was further misleading, along with the quality issues of the bands, the botched appraisals which causes alarm as a consumer all of which left an extremely bad impression and further illustrates the lack of professionalism of his establishment When I attempted to discuss these issues with Michael he was rude. In fact, he was telling me to relax and considering the circumstances and discovery of these errors I was and then .... HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!! I wasn't the only one listening to him as I had him on speaker so there is no way around this should he refute I've noticed on previous reviews Michael disputing they're not so unique situations similar to mine further disregarding customer service and professionalism of a business owner downplaying and dismissing their concerns as well These are facts despite whatever Michael may claim especially with the documents with his signature signing off on them. I had hoped for a professional resolution rather than being compelled to resort to social media advocacy for others who might share or face similar challenges with his business however he choose to disregard my email requesting a call instead; SILENCE IS HIS ANSWER!!!! If I'm totally honest, the reason I picked this place is because it's the same name as a casino in Las Vegas. Silly reason, I know. But, I do understand that rings sometimes have issues. And, in this case, my wife realized that her diamond was a bit loose. So, here's where I got an education about diamonds that I hoped I would never need. First of all, to get coverage on your homeowners insurance, you have to make a specific rider to your insurance. I didn't do that. Fortunately, the lady at Golden Nugget helped me through the whole thing. It didn't surprise me that she tried to convince me that the diamond itself should be replaced. She gave me that magnifying eyepiece that jewelers use, and she said, "Look, there's a chip on the top part over there." I couldn't see anything. And, if I can't see anything with magnification, I don't think it's that big of a deal. For the record, my wife was OK with that decision, especially since our daughter just started college. But, the nice thing was that she didn't press the issue. When she found out I didn't have insurance coverage, she helped me find the best possible option to reset the diamond. It cost $180, which seems like a lot, and it took a week to do, which seemed like a long time, but it's a small price compared to the price of the diamond itself. And, the ring seriously looks like a new ring after the repair. One minor annoyance was that they won't do appraisals on rings that they didn't sell. But, if I have any issues with my ring or with hers again, I think I'll come back here. And, by then, I should have my homeowners insurance in place to cover it.

Rolfs Jewelers is that small "mom and pop" business where the business owner is the person doing the work. In my opinion, this tends to lead to a high quality product. It is the jeweler where custom pieces are just as dazzling as those in the case "ready to wear". This is what they have done for me over the years: I have had my Rolex watch overhauled, stones removed from old "dated" settings and custom made into new "updated" settings, heirloom pennant designed and crafted by Scott that incorporated 3 generations of wedding stones. We've cleaned everything (twice), fixed a lot of earrings, re-sized too many rings, bought ready-to-wear pieces, gave my best friend a deal on the diamond earrings she always wanted...need I say more? However, I was disappointed with the lack of transparency regarding their gold pricing. Before selling, I asked multiple times what percentage of the current melt/market value they were paying. I couldn't get a direct answer and was instead told that they don't price it that way and essentially pay what other gold buyers pay. I trusted that and sold some of my gold. Afterward, I did the calculation myself based on the gold's weight, purity, and market price and found that I had received approximately 67% of its melt value. I should have done the math beforehand, but I would strongly recommend that anyone selling gold here calculate its melt value and compare offers before selling.

My first visit with the owner went well enough that I thought I could trust her with my jewelry. Once we decided on a design I handed over my precious memories and waited in anticipation of seeing my beautiful new ring. I did have a few red flags with regards to her not supplying an inventory/description of my jewelry but at this point I was still trusting her. When I picked up my ring, I was more than happy but a little nervous about the crinkled notes stuffed in a baggie with my left over stones. I still wanted to trust her and enjoy my ring. Once home I realized that the ring was to large and contacted her about sizing. In all of my excitement over my new ring, I also realized that a single earring that had diamonds in it was missing. She decided not to use that piece so it would be returned. I went in to the store and saw an entirely different personality in her. When I asked politely about my missing stones she became loud and aggravated. She became so hostile that I told her she was making me feel very uncomfortable. With a smirk, she just said "leave then". I did attempt to ask her again about the missing diamonds and with a giggle she responded "do you want me to give you a few diamonds?" I felt so betrayed, scammed and angry that I allowed what was supposed to be a wonderful experience turn into a nightmare with me being left with a ring that didn't fit and losing a piece of jewelry that I can't replace. I had to incur another cost to get the ring sized but it felt worth it to deal with a reputable jeweler as I will never walk into this jewelry store again. I will however be filing a small claims court action for possible replacement of my missing diamonds as well as a police report to make sure the theft is of record for court. My friend that referred me was completely shocked at the results of my visit and has stopped referring this business. So. if your wanting a beautiful piece or in the market for nice jewelry, avoid this scam artist. You'll be left feeling gullible and scammed with a heavy price tag of over $2000 for a simple design. I should add that there is no actual jeweler on site and all the pieces are taken from the store to another jeweler.
