I had an emergent need that need to be addressed because my filling was failing, and my nerve was so painful. I was only visiting, but the dentist and front desk or very helpful and kind. They were able to place it temporary speak to their contact for a crown to be created expediently and on the third day I had my crown. Great experience everybody was so nice. read more

I'm getting up there and have moved around a lot, so I'd estimate I've had at least 15 different dentists, but these guys are the best. Every other dentist I went to hit me with all sorts of different charges that supposedly weren't covered by insurance. But in the three years I've been going here (with my three teenagers) I don't recall ever having to pay out of pocket for anything. We've got good teeth, so perhaps we didn't need anything special, but every other dentist we've been to has found some way to send me a bill for random charges. But that's too much only about the $$. They are also very pleasant, everyone from the receptionists to the hygienists, to the dentists themselves. And they never seem rushed. read more

Dr Jackson is a phenomenal & talented Dentist, if you're looking for a star dentist, look no further. Dr. Jackson was recommended to me. He performed a tooth extraction on my very badly infected & cracked tooth. This tooth had been infected for over a year and in the last 3 months it has really made me ill. It was poisoning my whole body for months and I didn't realize how bad it was... From the moment Dr Jackson gave me my first Novocaine shot (Totaling 4-6 shots) , to the moment he finished the procedure, I did NOT feel a single thing. He is very good at what he does and you can tell he's been doing this for a long time. The whole procedure was very smooth and I'm beyond happy & impressed with his work. I will be seeing Dr Jackson soon to get a crown for another tooth, and also want to follow up with a full mouth X-rays & cleaning. A friend finally convinced me to try Diamond Head Dental Care (Honolulu location), and I am so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel comfortable. Princess, the young lady who took my x-rays, was incredibly friendly and polite. My dental hygienist, Rob, was extremely gentle and explained every step as he went--he was amazing. I then saw Dr. Vo, who went over my x-rays and explained everything clearly. She was so patient and thorough, and she never pressured me to do anything immediately. She simply gave her recommendations and encouraged me to book when I'm ready. Booked an appointment for my wife after multiple conversations with staff, specifically detailed what she needed, only then did we book a flight from the Big Island to Honolulu, only to be told by Dr. Matto, that he " cannot help her." Really? Then I asked Dr. Matto about reimbursing us for the cost of the flight, and other costs we incurred, since his staff assured us, that the procedure could be, and would be done. Dr. Matto declined, stating that I must have misinterpreted claims that I saw on the internet, and that was as unfortunate, but not his problem. That is not what happened, at all! I used Google searches, like "same day denture repair" to locate possible dentists that could replace my wife's lower denture. Since Diamond Head dental was the first on that search result, I contacted their office, explaining what we needed, and telling the representative that we had to be sure before we booked the flight, to which, she assured us. To me, this is clearly deceptive practice, if not fraud. I am pursuing this issue with whatever it takes, Mostly for the principle involved. it cost me $365.12 to find out what type of person this is ethically. How much will it cost you? read more

Ok, it's been several years since my last visit. Although I'm saddened that my dental hygienist Jonnelle is no longer here, I was ably treated by Taylor, who's done a wonderful job of easing my anxiety of "going to the dentist". She was my hygenist today and believe it or not I look forward to seeing her again for my next appointment in 6 months. Sure I've got some more work to be done. I also was seen By the man himself Dr. Mattos. With him, Diamondhead Dental Care just celebrated their 10th anniversary! Their offices has expanded a bit more, it's still in a great location with free parking and easily accessible. The staff are all wonderful. From greeting you at the door to also sending you gentle reminders about your visit. They've been awesome, and I wish them continued success and another decade of being there for their patients and perhaps someday our kids kids too. Give them a visit, their hours have even expanded further as they are also open on Sundays. One last thing, they were also one of the few Dental Offices who were open during COVID. They even took on patients from other practices who wouldn't see them. They truly are heroes for that as well as all that they do, and they will truly take care of you and your family. read more

Cursory cleaning and exam. Didn't take complaints of jaw pain too seriously and recommended a mouth guard. Fast forward a couple weeks and jaw pain is so bad I can't eat without pain. Thankfully found a chiropractor who was able to readjust my jaw back into alignment. read more

They also understand that hydrogen peroxide is an oral rinse (says on the bottle) and it is all one needs for whitening teeth--$.99 is all it costs! I keep a bottle in the shower, take a swig and hold for a bit then rinse with water. Some people feel it stings, I'm not one of them. I've tried the expensive treatments and frankly this is the simplest method with the best results! You need your try it! (Once every day for maybe 7-10 days then every other day, then maybe every 3 days, then into maintenance mode. read more

I've been coming to Diamond Head Dental Care for the past two years. They are professionals. This place runs like a well-oiled machine. It's super conveniently located on Monserrat. Depending on the time, there's plenty of parking right in front. They have really extended hours with times that should meet almost everyone's schedules. My hygienist was Jannelle. She's friendly, efficient and gentle. She told me what I was doing well and where I can improve. My past experiences here with her and other hygienists have been really good. The dentists are usually pretty quick and through as well. I think I've seen a different one each time. With Covid, most of the lobby is blocked off. There are plastic shields in front of the front desk people. Temperatures are taken, gloves, face masks, and face shields are worn. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Incredible experience, top notch dental care after a year long hiatus from the Dentist! I normally go every 6 months (as we should!) but my go to hygienist is out on maternity leave. Ya you heard me right! My go to hygienist because truly the hygienist makes or breaks the experience. I am so grateful to Janelle who did a stellar job cleaning my teeth today. She even gave me some tips on brushing better and caring for my permanent bottom retainer. The best part? My mouth isn't aching. I hate when you get a rough hygienist and your mouth hurts for a week. I have dealt with some pretty rude dentists on Oahu in the past so this place was truly like a breath of fresh air. While the dental care was excellent, I must say the star of the show for me was the girl working the front desk! I was under the impression that my insurance did not cover dental services and that I was paying out of pocket so I just handed over my card. However, this gal at the front desk took the time to look up my insurance and found out that my service would be free and refunded me my payment. She was eager to help without me asking and didn't bat an eye about processing the refund! Normally people get pissed when you give them extra work, not here.
