I came here because the Yelp reviews are really good. I was immediately greeted by Charlie, who is very personable and knowledgeable about his profession. I came to have a new clasp put on a bracelet and to sell some jewelry. There is an impressive array of styles and beautiful pieces. The prices are surprisingly good. Not happy at all with this jeweler or his work or the product he sells. I took a couple rings to him to be repaired and resized, and already one ring has lost two diamonds. I'm holding my breath regarding the other ring. While I was there, I saw a really beautiful ring. As I was admiring it, he gave me a price that I liked. So I asked to try it on. After much consideration, I decided to buy it, and at that point he raised the price a $100. I should've called him on it, but didn't. Stupid me! MADE JOKES ABOUT JEWISH PEOPLE THEN DENIED IT THEN THREATENED THE CUSTOMER WHO HE SUBJECTED HIS BAD BEHAVIOR AND HUMOR TO BY CALLING THE COPS!! THIS GUY IS A PIECE OF SHIT!! I had some stones that i wanted to get made into finished pieces. I went into this place and the jeweler seemed very nice at first. I TOLD HIM I USED TO WORK IN JEWELRY SO THAT HE WAS AWARE THAT I AM AWARE. I had a pair of tiny princess cut diamonds made into studs from a pair of heavy huggie hoops that weighed about 8 grams. He gave me 200$ credit for the gold and quoted me 200$ to change these tiny (.07pts each) in reality the settings cost maybe 30$ plus 10$ to set the stones so he made a profit of roughly 160$. Ok i know he has to make money but still. I knew he was taking advantage and making it seem like a good deal. Wanting to finally get these pieces made after 10years i decided to just go forward. Second time i went back to pick up the earrings, happy with the finished product (not with how much it cost me) he made an innappropriate joke about jewish people and counting money. He thought he was hilarious. The second and third pieces i had made 2. Wg sapphire and diamond pendant. I supplied the sapphire already in a bezel head and the diamonds and the gold. He charged me 100$ to make a heavy bale solder the sapphire in the bezel to it and set the diamonds. This was a fair price for the labor involved, probaly cost him 50$ so he profited 50$. Very satisfied with that piece. 3. Was to be a trillion tanzanite earring and pendant set. I supplied all the stones for the earrings and for the pendant i supplied the tanzanite and one large diamond (.10pts) and the gold (about 7grams roughly = to about 140$) the earrings were to have the marquise diamond attatched to the post and a small jump ring to attatch the tanzanite so that it would dangle. It was soldered stiff no movement and Charlie admited that it wasnt what i specified. The pendant sample he showed me was what he called a halo, diamonds encircling the center stone nearly flush with the center stone. The finished product however was diamonds on each side (diamonds he supplied) instead of all the way around and prongs at each corner instead of a diamond as he showed me in the sample. The diamonds were also not set nearly flush with the center stone so when i wear it you lose the diamond effect completely. Overall not what i was promised, not what i wanted. He charged me 385$ plus the 140$ from my gold for a total of 525$ to make this set. The cost for him was roughly 45$ for the diamonds (9 pieces .005pts and 9 pieces .0025pts) approximately 50$ for the mounting and setting of the pendant and approximately 45$ for the mounting, setting and posts for the earrings so his total cost was 140$ approx and i paid 525$ for pieces that were not what i was shown or what was discussed, seems a pretty hefty amount considering i supplied most of the pieces and for that price i probably could have bought a ready made piece with MUCH more diamond weight, diamonds all the way around and not supplied anything. I am not a confrontational person and my experience with people tells me he has the tendency to be so i accepted the pieces and am writing this to see what he does and so that he knows i am not as stupid as his behavior towards me implied but that i am very aware of how much he made off of me. I should also note that in one months time one of the small diamonds has already fallen out of the bale and one of the prongs holding the tanzanite catches everytime on my towel. I give this place 1 stars for making two out of three pieces that i wanted and am satisfied with and because of his innappropriate joking nature and the way he got more and more excited at thinking he was taking advantage of me. 8/22/16 Will update 8/26/16 update, charlie called the next day and after some lengthy discussion we both agreed that the pieces needed to be redone. I stated that it was both our faults as he did not record the amount of gold, check the finished product to make sure it matched the description of the instructions before it was handed back to me and i should have spoken up when i picked up the items instead of trying to like it. I do have to say that he denied making the joke that he did which really bothers me that he lied, or even made the joke at all. Why would i make something like that up? Thats why i wrote the review before speaking to him directly so that hopefully he can see how inappropriate it was. He knows what he said. Will update again once pieces are finished. I am glad however that even though there was some arguement over his views versus what he sampled and what i expected that he wanted to make it right read more
