Had company in from out of town and decided to take a ride on the Diamond Jack on a beautiful, sunny day! For the best seating, be sure to get to the dock early since it is first come, first served. Boat rides are an hour in length. The boats disembark at the foot of Cullen (formerly Rivard) Plaza. Snacks and drinks are sold on board.

The Diamond Jack provides a very nice and long cruise on the Detroit River! For $20 per adult, you get a comfortable two hour boat ride with lots of scenic views of Detroit, Belle Isle, and Windsor, Ontario, and a lot of interesting fun facts about all of the sights. There's also restrooms, concessions, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available on the boat as well to make your cruise more enjoyable. I really enjoyed my time aboard, but as much as i love boats two hours was a bit long. At the 1.5 hour mark i was ready to dock, and i think i wasn't the only one. However, i am never disappointed about getting my money's worth, which i indeed did.

My wife took an afternoon tour along the Detroit River for Father's Day. It was a very hot Sunday, so the idea of being on the water was appealing. We parked near the dock location on the street for free which was a bonus. A short walk down to the Riverfront and we were in line awaiting our turn to board. $20 each and we were on our way. No reservations necessary. They offered a limited bar and soft drinks plus snacks on the lower level. Up top was a spectacular view of the Detroit River, Windsor, Canada and Lake St. Claire. The tour lasted around 90 minutes and was very informative. Got to see a lot of landmarks and learn about their history. This is a great idea to visit downtown Detroit with a few friends who haven't been there lately. Follow it up with dinner in town and you have a great, affordable day in the city!

This was a wonderful find on a beautiful summer day. Boat ride explaining the history of detroit and canada as well. Very nicely maintained vessel with an awesome crew.

Diamond Jack offers a nice tour of the U.S. and Canadian sides of the Detroit River. We were fortunate to go on a beautiful day and had a wonderful tour which consisted of various sights up and down the river between the Ambassador Bridge and Lake Saint Clair.

Been going here for the past five years for the Michigan anti-cruelty society boat trip they have. I am never disappointed. The food is always great. It is for a great cause. the basket raffle that they have is incredible and the general table has everything. Plud it is for a great cause and a great time I would highly recommend this!

Attended a fundraiser on the boat. Nice cruise down the Detroit River. Parking is an issue as there is no close parking to the boat.

Nice but with one glaring issue. The downstairs speaker is shit so bad that you can't understand one word of the tour guide.

Only recently constructed in 2004 during the first phase of the park's development, it stands at 63 feet tall and was designed as a scaled-down replica of the Tawas Point Lighthouse, a historic beacon on Lake Huron built in 1876. This lighthouse doesn't serve a traditional navigational role like its Great Lakes predecessors. Instead, it marks the entrance to the harbor and serves as a visual anchor for the park. The park itself was originally named Tri-Centennial State Park, commemorating the founding of Fort Detroit in 1701, and was later renamed in 2009 to honor Governor William G. Milliken, a champion of environmental stewardship. The lighthouse is not open for touring but the grounds around it are fully accessible from all angles. It is a rare lighthouse that is visible from two countries. [Round number review 1000 of 2025 - 476 in Michigan - 24554 overall]

I don't want to hear other people's children "playing" or whatever it is they do that's so loud. I don't want to vie for space on the sand bar. I don't want to hear other people's music, or see them dancing. You get the point, I'm not into the social scene that can be typical of Michigan lakes. You might be saying "why don't you get your own lake then you anti social jerk?". Well, that's basically what Orchard Lake is. It's amazing. There is literally like, no one on this lake 99% of the time. If you're lucky enough to be able to boat during the weekdays, you can often be the ONLY person on the water. You could totally lay out nude and no one would even be around to see you. The busy weekends don't really seem busy, and I have yet to feel crowded or annoyed. It's silent, peacful, serene and relaxing. Perfect. This is a VERY clean lake, and I believe it's the second or third largest in Oakland County. The water is clear and sparkling in most areas except for the very deepest parts. There is only seaweed in a few spots but these are not the chill areas and are easy to avoid. I love the variety of wildlife that can be seen on this lake including egrets, swallows, hawks, ducks, swans and lots of cute little fish that seem happy to hang out by the humans. The sandbar is spotless, probaly due to the "no drinking" poloicy that we, of course, follow to a T. LOL. The no drinking policy is most likely what keeps this lake fairly empty, and it works for me.
