August 30-31, 2025 - Diamond Lake, OR We stayed at the RV park for a few days and wandered over to the lodge twice. The first time was during their Labor Day festivities, when a live band was scheduled. We tried to find out when the band would be playing, but no staff member seemed to know. One finally said, "You'll hear them when they start playing." Not exactly helpful, so we left. On our second visit, we decided to sit on the outdoor patio at the restaurant for a drink and maybe an appetizer. We both ordered Manhattans and looked over the menu. The drinks took a while to arrive, and the moment I saw them, I knew they wouldn't be good--and they weren't. That pretty much decided it for us, and we skipped ordering food. The patio does offer a lovely view of the lake, but it's dated and showing its age. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and we won't be back the next time we're in the area. read more

Public laundry room was good and store on premises had variety of options. In all we had a good 2 day stay while visiting crater lake area. Pretty inexpensive for the area. We enjoyed our two night stay here. Room was spacious, clean, with all the needed amenities and with a parking space right out front. The staff in the main office were extremely nice and helpful, really improved our stay! We also rented one of the kayaks at the resort and took it out on the lake which was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend staying here if looking for an affording lodging in the area. Resort is great access to crater lake national park which is a short drive away. read more

It's hard to know how to rate this place. For us, there wasn't anything overtly "wrong" but there really wasnt anything that great either. We stayed in one of their 2-bedroom cabins. Pros: Excellent location if you want to explore Crater Lake Staff were friendly and the person who helped me over the phone was very helpful. Beautiful location They will give you more towels than you could ever possibly hope to use LOL The quiet hours were indeed quiet and we were able to get a decent night's sleep, although the mattress has seen better days. Having a kitchen was nice. We brought our own food so we didnt have to rely on going to restaurants. They have a little store there to get some beverages and snacks. They have the only gas station within about 30 minutes of the area, but the hours are limited. Cons: The place is very run down and in poor condition. It almost feels like it was abandoned for a few years and someone decided to re-open it with only rudimentary repairs. The bathroom is in dire need of remodeling. You just dont feel clean after showering. Ultimately the reason why I'm giving it a 3 is because there was mildew on the shower curtain, and not a spot here and there, it was noticeable to anyone. That kind of just pushed the experience from one of "oh this isnt bad" to feeling like we wanted to go home and get clean. Because the buildings are so run down, it just kind of makes you sad being there. That being said, if your plan is to spend a day on the lake fishing or hiking in the National Park, and just want to come back to your room at night to sleep, this is probably a good choice for you. We did not eat at the restaurant. Given the overall condition of the place we were concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen. read more

Don't get me wrong, the "resort" is surrounded by breathtaking view. But to call itself a "resort", shouldn't it have at least some basic amenities like a hair dryer? How would anyone expect not to get wet here by a lake? And it is so uncomfortable to sleep with your hair wet here because the buildings are so old, air doesn't flow like how you know it. The worst is no wi-fi; no, actually, the worst is there's no wi-fi and your cell signal is SUPER weak. If that fact doesn't entice the owners to provide wi-fi, then, well, they really are older than 100 years! Staff is helpful, in all aspect of our stay here. The hostess and cooks were great-The only thing I would change is even though we did have water . I made a reservation to stay at this RV park on 9/3 and 9/4. When we arrived they refused us entry because they said they do not allow people to camp in electric vehicles. Nothing on their website or the terms and conditions I signed disclosed that exclusion. They allow people to camp in vans and when I asked why vans are acceptable but not EV SUVs, they could not answer my question. They also refused to refund our money. They claimed we violated the cancelation policy, which is inaccurate because we did not cancel. They violated their contract with us. They turned us away with nowhere to stay. We stopped here after a visit to Crater Lake to grab food and hang out at the lake. It wasn't crowded at all and it was a perfect day. We had fish n chips and it was pretty good (nothing out of the ordinary). I was disappointed though because the website wasn't updated. They still show bumper boats as an option when in fact they haven't been available for years. We were looking forward to going on them because they look fun but it's ok. Hopefully they bring them back again one day. They do offer kayaks and water bikes I believe, as well as boats for fishing. They also have paid bicycles for rent. Prices to rent are so reasonable! It isn't a "fancy" resort by any means, so don't have that expectation. However it's a great place to hang out and relax with the family (kids, dogs, etc). read more

Lovely surrounding area. The resort itself is at this moment, at 9pm on s Saturday night, running all sorts of heavy diesel equipment in the parking lot for unknown reasons. Backing up, beeping, over and over. Walls are paper thin. Dumb assed neighbors strumming his guitar. No air conditioning, so I'm stuck listening to all this noise in a so-called mountain resort. There isn't much to choose from in the Crater Lake area. The best advice is not to plan on staying overnight in the area unless you are camping, for real. read more

This place deserves more credit than people give. We stayed in the motel, the staff was really nice, the lodge is really homey and the lake is beautiful. Sure, some of the facilities are a little dated but they're not claiming to be the four seasons! Diamond lake resort is a lake! It's in the middle of the woods. It's about 20 minutes away from crater lake, the next nearest lodging is probably another 20-30 minutes from diamond lake so the location is a huge selling point. You're roughing it a little bit, but what else did you expect? read more

The only good thing I can say is, it is close to the North entrance of Crater Lake National Park. For that reason only, I will give it a third of a star!!! So wish I could post a pic of the room!!! The room was filthy & the carpet was vile. The window air conditioner was duct taped in with a piece of filthy plywood filling in the gap. We wouldn't even use the shower & had to deliberate about using the toilet...only out of necessity!!! Dark n' Dingy with wires strung along the wall for the ancient air conditioner. Do yourself a huge favor, and although Diamond Lake is beautiful...avoid this place at all costs!! It wasn't cheap to add insult to injury!!! read more

I have been going to Diamond Lake as a fisherman since 1968 and began using the resort's facilities since 1974 for the restaurant, lodging and boat mooring. It is located on one of the most beautiful settings in Oregon and adjacent to Crater Lake. It is very disturbing to me to see how the resort has deteriorated in the last few years. It is my favorite place to stay and recreate in Oregon due to the excellent fishing. The staff are mostly old timers and good at what they do. The restaurant is outstanding for its service and menu both for selection and quality. The facility, however, has gone downhill to the point of being dangerous. The walking surfaces on the paths are filled with cracks and "ankle busting" holes. The access to the docks is a law suit waiting to happen with a huge knee breaking hole and broken asphalt that would be an easy fix. The leaves from last fall still line the trail (in June). The entire roof of the fish cleaning station has collapsed and the main beam is propped up with a 6x6 that has no underpinnings. The main feature of the station is the "fish garbelator" which was not working even though a major derby is just days away. Our cabin last year had a very large (spelled herd) of bats living in the wall that were fun to watch at night but very noisy to live with during the day. The A/C unit was not functional and no one ever showed up to fix it. This year's cabin had a furnace that greeted you with a huge BANG thirty seconds after it quit running. The shower handle was completely floppy loose and a genuine scald hazard to anyone using it. The digging rodents in the grass all around the cabins have holes going that could damage a horse. One either takes their chances on the scary walkway or deals with the, I think, Grey Digger squirrel leg breaker holes. In their defense I believe they are federally protected. It breaks my heart to see this once inviting jewel of the Cascades go downhill. read more

This is my first review in Yelp, I felt it was needed. I have been traveling quite a bit over the years and has stayed in some seedy places and never felt a reason to complain. The saying goes, "you get what you pay for". Often cheap motel rooms are what they are, but are at least sanitary to a minimum standard, mine is not high. Our room was filthy. A wad of hair was stuck to the wall of the shower. The tile in the bath had a traffic pattern where filth was removed by traffic, under the bed was an accumulation of debris. Key and tv remote did not work. It sure looked like this room has not been thoroughly cleaned for years. read more

Beautiful campground near diamond Lake. Would be five stars but for the excessive amount of mosquito and Nat population. If you're going to visit, bring lots of repellent also bring your own firewood as it's seven dollars for 6-7 sticks of wood. read more

Should rename itself to diamond lake cabins & motel camping....resort feels a little misleading. Lol It provides a place to sleep & it's close to crater lake. Expensive for what you get. Expect to buy everything. No ice maker...they will give you ice but only enough for like drinks in your room. You can rent a grill for $20-$30. Mosquitos, bring spray!! Store & diner on site. Breakfast was $8 for cold foods, continental style. $15 for warm food, eggs, bacon etc buffet. Our sink didnt drain in the room, so had to be careful when using it. Is a pretty lake. Staff is friendly. No wifi & limited cell. So nice area to unplug. read more

Diamond Lake is beautiful and so close to Crater Lake. We were looking forward to our mini vacation at the resort. We rented a lakeside cabin and we were so disappointed with the accommodations. The cabin conditions and amenities were very bad. Another couple planned to come with us, but we were relieved they didn't because it would have been embarrassing to bring someone and pay the high rental price for such poor accommodations. The cabins are old and worn out and very poorly maintained. Be aware there is no WiFi and we found no cell service anywhere we were at the resort. Below are the issues we experienced during our stay. 1. The beds were very old, with thin and uncomfortable mattresses. The first night we got so little sleep even after trying all of the beds in the cabin. There was a futon in the living room that was the only somewhat comfortable place we could find to sleep. 2. The cupboards in the kitchen are old and warped so they don't even close all the way. 3. Very poorly stocked kitchen. There wasn't a single sharp knife - only butter knives. And no can opener. 4. The adjustment on the shower was broken so only extremely hot water came out of the shower. You couldn't stand under the shower head or you would get scalded. This wasn't fixed while we were there so didn't have a shower while we were there. 5. There is a beautiful view of the lake from the cabins, but the ample windows were so dirty, that took away from the beauty of the view. 6. The staff was friendly, but they weren't surprised at the issues we reported to them. In most cases, they mentioned they had previously heard the same issues from others. 7. We did receive a portion of payment back after bringing these issues to the attention of management. read more

This resort may be the closest to Crater Lake. No other closer one unless go to next town. It has a Great Lake in front of it which has some lake activity as amenities. Canoe, kayak, paddle boat or standing paddle board is happening on this lake. The resort definitely need a face lift or renovation. Many of their item is old but function. Cannot consider luxurious, in the same time they did not charge a lot of money for one night. From the resort to the entrance of Crater Lake entrance is about 8 miles. To the lake is about 15 miles. Around the Diamond Lake, there is a parameter road surrounded the lake. It has wooded area. The hotel is motel style room, cabin or RV. It also has cafeteria and restaurant. Please remember there is no close by grocery store. So be prepared the thing you need before traveling. Internet access is limited at the resort main compound until 9:00 pm. So download the map you need before you go next morning. read more

*This review is specifically written for a day-use, and just coming up to the Resort for one day only in the Winter*. We went out there in December 2020, and rented Nordic skis from the Market/Rentals on-site. It is recommended to try to ski there if it is *NOT your first rodeo* and have cross-country skied before. There is definitely no lessons available, and we had to be resourceful to figure out our own map-of where to go. Which is fine. The type of skis issued were very skinny and narrow, to truly ski the terrain it might be easier with a little wider backcountry-ski style. The skis provide would work well for Groomed Trails, but there aren't many truly-groomed trails in the area. I recommend renting equipment off-site, if you are ambitious and want to ski around the whole lake. Depending on which area you are driving from, you could stop at a shop in Medford or Ashland on-your-way. But, if you didn't want to ambitiously ski or cover that much distance, but just wanted to get-on-skis to say you-did-it-type-thing then the market is very convenient and hassle free to rent skis then and there! read more

Pro's and Cons here. If you like the outdoors, camping , hiking and fishing this is for you. Lodging: Cabins or motel room? The booking online was easy to reserve. Checking in at the resort was quick and easy. Good customer service at the front desk. The cabin was what I thought it would be according to picture. We had plenty of towels and TP both nights we were there. Some of the nicer motels I've stayed at are so inadequate when it comes to keeping that stuff in stock for you. The kitchen was all right. The oven had 1 burner not working and had some heat on when we got in there. Clean though! Close as I could to camping. Fair pricing on lodging. Our cabin was clean. Resort Food: Bailey Room was impossible to get seated, a greeting or even service both nights. Is the food good? I don't know. No seating and I was told if I wanted to get an order to go for my family we would have to wait in line to be seated. Then wait more after. 2nd night same thing. The North Shore Pizza had a sign cash only and no one answered the phone. Resort Store: Quick service and prices are fair and expected to be what a country store would have. Just keep in mind because it's far out ( supply demand they'd prob spoil) no fresh veggies or fruits. Good selection and snacks. T-shirt selection and design picked over though. Ehh Boat Rentals: I pre paid my $200 boat rental for my kids and I. Greeted with a snide rude attitude. This little gal working gave me the teen eye roll scan and had attitude. So funny I had to hold back from laughing. I don't care how friendly someone is, but do your job. Things like: I can help you over here, as long as they do their job and wait on people. Hi, please and thank you go along way. Really just do your job like it doesn't pain you. Lot of elderly people and families come in so that would be a better attitude to have. After the 2 workers decided who was checking me out for my pre reserved boat; the man working checked my boat out. My boat wasn't ready. He got the boat ready and the boat was ok, but a bit beat up. It had 1 stall out on the lake. Luckily my cell worked as the boats don't have radio to call in for help. I called in and a worker came out on the lake and got us started. He was helpful. I docked in the afternoon and evening. The afternoon evening shift was more upbeat, cheerful, and helpful. In my opinion a charter is more worth it if you don't have a boat, but I didn't have 4 people . ( required amount for charter) After paying $200 for a full day rental not worth it. A half day morning rental would be great or evening. Even if fishing isn't good a boat trip around the lake is worth it. Gas Station was hard to get waited on even with an empty pump station. The guy acted like he didn't want to wait on me. Luckily I was just topping off my tank. So I got gas further down there Umpqua sense it like that way. Far as customer service goes: Do your job I don't care if your friendly or visit with me when it comes to the poor customer service. Resort check in had good customer Service and lodging was adequate. Overall great place to hike and camp at fun for the family and a good outing. read more

Well for the price it isn't half bad. You want to make sure you bring wipes and Lysol because the place needs a good thorough wipe down. Our wipes were black by the time we finished an area. The bed is hard as a rock and no WiFi. The doors rubber seal needed to be replaced and we had to run the heater all night. The blinds needed to be replaced too. The last thing to know is during the winter the snowmobiles are running all night. It didn't bother us but I think it is something you should be aware of So resort is far fetched but the location is beautiful and the people were all really friendly and helpful. I did enjoy eating at the restaurant. If they sink money into this place it could be pretty amazing. I would stay here again but a little more prepared. Great place to snowmobile and take the kids to the tube park for winter. read more

This has to be one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed at. The 1st night I slept in my clothes because it was so dirtY. The next morning I complained about the filth and they supposedly cleaned it that day (not so much). The bed was darned near shaped like a C and the box spring was filthy and torn up. read more

The last week in June 2018 I rented the over $1000 a night "retreat" with 7 bedrooms & huge kitchen & huge grill on the porch. I spent well over $6000 for the week we were there (especially with store & Resteraunt, boat rentals...etc)This is the 3rd or 4th time I've stayed here in that house & by far the worst service! Before I arrived I asked for the grill to be cleaned. I requested this because The last time we stayed there the grill was so nasty that I had to have a friend (who came down later) bring a grill brush & I spent hours cleaning it only to have it catch on fire because no one had cleaned out the grease trap in what looked like forever. So this time I was clear off the bat that the grill needed to be cleaned! When I arrived of course it was filthy with chunks of food & looked like no one cleaned it ever....they also did not provide a grill brush. I asked when I arrived to please have someone clean it in the morning. At around 9am (on one of my guests birthdays) someone showed up banging on the door loudly (waking up everyone in the house) to clean the grill and within about 3min they were gone. I checked & the grill looked untouched! I then called the front desk and left a message with no reply by 4pm I called again and was told housekeeping would come back. Randomly a woman walked into the bottom floor of the house without knocking (startling us all) saying "hello? Someone wanted sponges?" And asking about a window downstairs that the screen had fallen out of (which was weird). I tried to explain to her that no, we needed the grill cleaned and a grill brush. Then another woman showed up, the "head housekeeper", and was extremely rude to not only the first Lady (she yelled at her "I will take care of this customer you can go back to the front desk!" And when the woman tried to speak she cut her off and repeated it again much louder and meaner in front of me and all my kids & guests! Her behavior was extremely unprofessional, and then she was short with me & said it was not part of her job & that she would call "maintenance" and promptly left. By 6pm we are all starving and No one has shown up (& I am waiting to make a large birthday dinner I had planned for my kids and my guests) so i went down to the front desk. The front desk women seemed to have no idea what was going on & said they would call a manager and maintenance would be there shortly. The ONLY guy to actually help that day was JC the maintenance man who at 7pm took the grill parts with him and cleaned them thoroughly & brought them back about 45min later but by then we were all just so hungry that instead of having to wait till the cleaner cooked off (another 1/2hr to hour) we just all went and had a lovely meal at the Restaurant there & our waitress Shannon was amazing. The next day the rude housekeeper and a not very kind Manager guy showed up looking annoyed at me and looked at the grill & I showed them the food chunks & rest of the grill that was still nasty (JC didn't have anything to clean those parts) and they said housekeeping would come and clean it & they finally did. Every day (except that first day) housekeeping showed up at 10-10:30am banging loudly on our door waking everyone in the house up (on our vacation when we ALL wanted to sleep in, especially me because I just had surgery and this was supposed to be a relaxing vacation) and a team of 5-6 people would enter the house All at once and go through all the bathrooms & up and down stairs & we had to constantly ask them to take the trash. It was very intrusive & I don't remember that ever happening before when we stayed there! The overall cleanliness of the house this stay was poor to start off with! The dishes and silverware were not cleaned well, There was dust everywhere & the house is falling into disrepair (although they still charge the same $$$$) with broken cabinet doors and scratches all over the wood & walls. There were chunks of dirt on the carpets (I don't think it was vacuumed in quite some time). And yet on the day we were checking out we were treated Once again VERY rudely by the housekeeping staff & told " guests are coming tomorrow and we need the entire day to clean it" refusing to give us even one extra hour to check out & showed up exactly at checkout time demanding rudely twe "get out as fast as possible". I was absolutely appalled at how this place treated guests who spent (like I said) OVER $6000 for one week!!! I called to speak to the owner & of course there has been no reply! They could care less about customer service so don't waste your money on the "retreat" because it's anything but a retreat! read more

This place is the worst ever in terms of customer service ! I wanted to cancel due to the bootleg fire which is one of the largest in Oregon's history, and this place flatly refused ! Even though after multiple calls that I was traveling with two young kids , they refused to cancel stating that the cancellation policy doesn't allow it. Exceptions are always made considering the multiple fires , Jack Fire and Bootleg fire! But this place doesn't care. They are booked via National Park reservations and there is zero empathy or sympathy for tourists. Stay away from this nasty place read more

I've been going here for years and sadly I must say the cabins are continuing to go downhill. We stayed in Vintage Cabin 33 and so many things were missing it took over an hour to get a few things taken care of. No WiFi and the resort has decided that because of past alleged abuse when they had metered satellite service, that they don't share WiFi with guests, they do have Starlink service for they select staff only. Cell service is very poor if any and you can't even check the weather. The fishing is great but the resort is so bad, this will likely be our last time to visit the resort. Also the lodging prices are the highest I have seen at any resort like this and the quality of the accommodations is bad and getting worse. Also vintage cabins doesn't mean old and worn out does it? Oh yeah the very small bathrooms have no place to put even a toothbrush. No shelves, no medicine cabinet, basically no flat surfaces. I will stop now because I think you get the point. Check it out for yourself! 1. No overhead light above the dining / game table 2. Not enough silverware for even 4 people 3. No serving dishes 4. Only 1 electrical outlet in each bedroom 5. Oven filthy and barley works. 6. Bugs and cobwebs in every room even the shower. 7. One positive the linens were clean and generous once you requested them. read more

This is the type of place you can imagine visiting over & over again. It's just far enough away from everything so it's not crowded & the lake only allows fishing boats. This is a place you can kick back, relax, & enjoy the beautiful Oregon summer. We were here in mid August, which seems to be a pretty ideal time to come. They had a lot of snow this year so things didn't thaw out until halfway through the summer. We stayed in the campground but we did check out the resort which is awfully cute & quaint. We were eyeballing the cabins with large decks, lake views, & rolling lawns for pitching extra tents. It looked like some people were having a family reunion there. At the resort there's a store that we visited often for ice & that all important ice cream treat. What's a summer day on the lake without ice cream? They also sell all things fish related as well as grocery items & souvenirs. Pretty much everything a camper needs. You can also rent boats, kayaks, or bumper boats. Ask any fisherman in the area about their recent catch & you'll get more than enough info on where, when, & how to catch the biggest trout. Our group only caught a few but we saw people coming back with 10-15 after only a few hours on the water. There's nothing like some fresh Oregon trout cooked over the campfire! The campground didn't fill up the whole time we were there, even on the weekends. This is truly a gem of a place. Be sure to snag a campsite right on the water so you can kick back with a beer & wait for the guys to bring in their fish bounty. read more

Diamond Lake "Resort": Lovely lakeside setting, not far from Crater Lake and all it can offer. However, I can't recommend it much further than that -- we paid $100 (plus the 10% NPS reservation fee) for a room that rivals the dingiest Atlantic City motel for sketch factor. Bare-walled room, a bed so thin we could feel every bar underneath, bugs galore, and a bathroom/shower so dirty neither of us wanted to use it. Add in the fact that the second level of the building we stayed in was entirely boarded up and appeared to have been condemned, and this was not the highlight of our trip. It is worth emphasizing -- I am no snob when it comes to accommodations. I am an aficionado of cheap hotels from Jersey to Louisana thanks to a couple decades of road trips. This was, however, one of the worst rooms I have ever seen, anywhere. There may be better rooms within the complex, but risking that you end up where we stayed isn't worth the price, in my opinion. It looked like people were there for easy boating access, watersports and fishing, so if you're looking for those features you will probably be happier than we were. The main lodge building itself was quite nice, but the restaurant food was straight Sysco and quite overpriced. If you can stay at Crater Lake Lodge, go for it -- it looked lovely when we walked by it the next day. But otherwise, try a non-NPS hotel, unless you're really desperate for quick access to a lake. read more

Below average amenities, great service. For example - I made a booking mistake because of a confusing website error, which almost made my trip impossible (I would have had to rebook). Reginald went above and beyond to ensure that I was able to stay there. The motel rooms are very simple, which is fine as you are probably going to Diamond Lake for the outdoor experience. Hell noooooo, do not stay here. We paid $130 for this nasty rundown sad excuse for a motel. The facilities are all disgusting the and sadly so are the employees. there were shirtless drunkards fighting at night in the parking lot and cigarette smoke everywhere you went. Overall my rating is 3 stars. Let me explain.... If you are expecting a luxurious hotel, this is not your place. It's certainly rustic and is in need of updating. However the view from the harbor are breathtaking. The lake is picturesque, mountain views to die for, a step back in time. Our breakfast was delicious. We were doing cycle Oregon and looking for a place to sleep on our layover day rather than the tents the ride provided. This place was perfect. The owners were so kind and helpful. The food was very good and the staff was full of ideas on what to do. If you are looking for a fancy place all the amenities this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a beautiful lake to hang out by eat /drink on the patio and enjoy being unplugged this is the place for you. The owner even got up extra early to shuttle us and our gear back to the camp site. I would definitely stay here again. read more

If you have to stay at the Ritz, this isn't the place for you. If you want hometown fun, great service and excellent food, this is it. They kindly upgraded us to a cabin, which was cozy. Rented a cabin here for a one night stay on our way to Crater Lake. Our cabin seemed very old and musty, bedding had stains, shower head barely sprayed or sprayed ridiculously hard! Needless to say very quick showers. Because of the heat we had to sleep with every window opened, which meant dogs barking all night and day and loud neighbors in the morning. And it was nearly $300!!!! We were only a family of three, it could sleep six so that's not too much if there was 6 of us. Lake wasn't really swimmable with all the algae and oil from the boats. I love Diamond Lake, it's been a place that my father raised my brother and I during the summers. To the people that want to glamp, and get pampered go elsewhere this place is for the "do it yourself "true hands on campers!
