We had a busted lock at our office on a Friday morning, and as the weekend was fast approaching, I called several different locksmiths to see who can come out and fix the problem before end of business hours. I first had another company confirm they could come by, who had stated they could come by by a certain time. However, with no-show and no communication to me except when I called them to see where they were, and insisting they were only 10 minutes away and still not showing up after 30 minutes, I called Ray. We had Diamond out twice. The first time was 2 months ago when our front door wouldn't open. The first thing the guy said was we need to replace the lock. Cost $500.00. He'd be right back. He came back 30 min later with a lock set that was the wrong size and would necessitate drilling new holes and repainting the door. He said our lock set was very old, true, and not made anymore. I suggested that he just lubricate the current lock to make it easier to open. Cost $80.00. He did and said it would only be good for a few months. Well he was right and we called him again yesterday. Ron came out this morning and without doing anything said the lock had to be replaced $750.00 but it would be different. I asked how come it went up $250.00 in 2 months. He couldn't give an answer and said he could not credit the $80.00 already paid. I thanked him and called San Mateo Lock who came out, repaired the lock and charged $120.00 parts and labor. I think Diamond tries to upscale by going to Home Depot and then tripling the cost. I had my front and back door locks changed in April for security. The back door cylinder was a bit challenging and the key didn't fit snugly in it. The technician said if it became a problem the best thing to do would be to swap it out for a thumb turn lock. The lock got a lot worse quite quickly but I kept putting off calling, thinking we could just deal with it. However, I realized it was a safety issue, in that we might not be able to get the door open in an emergency. Amir came out as soon as I called and swapped out the key lock for a thumb turn lock (that I had on hand) at no charge. It took him a bit of time and effort so he easily could have charged me but he said it was more important that I was happy with the results, which I am. Got locked out of my house and had a locksmith (24 HR Locksmith, beware of them) to drill a hole through the lock to get in. He tells me I need to replace the key cylinder after which would cost even more money. I decided to call Diamond Locksmith instead to fix the lock. Met up with Ron and he provided excellent service. It was quick and easy. He also told me that I could've saved more money because it was initially an easy fix. The prior locksmith didn't have to drill a hole, meaning he lied so that he can get me to pay more. Ron was very honest and charged me a decent price. My friend had tenants move out of his house and while he traveled I was going to have all the locks in the house rekeyed. The locksmith showed up to the house early (shocking because most services I call are late) the price was what was quoted on the phone, and when we discovered that the garage lock was not working he had a replacement lock for it and was able to install. He was very nice, professional, and left every thing clean. I am definitely going to use him again. He came out to fix a lock. We had to have the lock picked, and he quoted 30 to come out, and $35-85 depending on difficulty. It took him about 5 minutes, and he charged us $125. He said it was because he had to re-key the lock, but never mentioned that it was even going to be extra. We have had locks re-keyed before for free, or $1 a lock. So I didn't expect to be charged $25, which is a total rip-off for 30 seconds of work, and about 10 cents in parts. read more

We just purchased a home, and needed our doors rekeyed. We called around a few places late on Sat night and Ray from Diamond Locksmith immediately got back to us for an appointment the next morning. First, he was the only locksmith we contacted who would give us a reasonable estimate for coming out to our home (others had a lower minimum, but wouldn't be able to confirm an estimate, which we were not excited about). Second, when he came over he was extremely on time and very quick to rekey the locks and offer recommendations including bolt change and how to think about other doors. Third, I inadvertently locked a door that I had no idea had a lock right after he left. Ray came back and helped me open it (all graciously). I had a very tricky problem with my deadbolt. The lock mechanism essentially jammed up while the door was closed, and there wasn't any easy access to the lock internals. It's not something an amateur should be trying to fix, so I called in Diamond Locksmith. First off, very fast response time. I think Ray got here within 20 minutes of my initial call. Suddenly I got locked out from my guest bedroom and Moti from Diamond locksmith come to the rescue. Called him around 6pm Friday and they arrived within 30-35mins. The service call is $30 and the charges goes up from there depending on your problem. Other than fixing my bedroom's lock, he also helped me fix my old front door locks. Me and my friend had a few beers and were buzzed and thought about getting some food and I forgot to take the keys with me. Oh well. Googled and called some agency (not diamond locksmith directly). He looked at the lock and quoted me $50 (atleast that's what me and my friend thought he quoted). Being buzzed I had little clue whats going on and gave him my Credit card and signed the receipt. In the morning, i noticed the receipt said $150. Called up Ray and completely denies saying $50 and adds that I have to talk to the agency I called. Sorry Ray, I paid you not the 3rd party. You are a dishonest person who ripped off drunk people (Ok many people ripoff drunk people and you are one of them) There is no doubt that Ray is good at what he does.
