Fabulous collection of cars that are aesthetically cleaner than any others on the east coast. If you're looking for the prettiest/unmolested classic cars on the market, look no further. I still recommend getting a pre-purchase inspection and asking to test drive on the freeway, no matter how clean the vehicle appears. I say this because, unbeknownst to me when purchasing, my 92 300zx had seized calipers and sticking front brakes (as well as a coolant and transmission leak) and I made a 350 mile drive home on questionable brakes that fumigated me the whole way. Rami reimbursed me for a portion of the cost of the brake work and stayed in touch throughout the process- which was not part of the drivetrain warranty, so I am thankful for this. Overall, a nice experience and I love my z32. Everyone stops me to tell me it's the cleanest z they've seen since the 90's. read more

Rami is the kind of guy who you'd need to shower after meeting with. I honestly felt absolutely disgusted associating with this kind of sleazy car dealer. Don't be fooled, all he wants is your money period. Without an assured sale, he doesn't care about you as a person and sincerely doesn't make you feel welcome. Instead of appreciating your time and striving for your business, he rather makes it a point for you to feel as if though you are spending his time. He has douche written across his forehead and he is extremely rude to top it all off. His staff on the other hand is very courteous and polite but unfortunately they have to work for this guy. One sympathizes with their plight. I had one of their staff members inform me at the time of my visit that all their cars are on consignment leaving no room for negotiation. This fact became all too surreal later. The car I was looking at had an apparent crack a few inches long in the windshield that both I and the salesman had noticed during the test drive and walk around. When I brought it to Rami's attention, he shrugged it off and said it would only cost a few hundred dollars to replace and informed me that their cars are sold as is and prices are firm. I'm an avid car detailer on the side and a genuine auto enthusiast. As such, I do believe that I owe it to my fellow connoisseurs of the horrors I found inside. I personally witnessed their sales people, during downtime, take an orbital polisher to scratched up old cars. When I politely asked one of them in passing if he had and prior experience in the field, he jokingly assured me that he had plenty of on the job training there. This was already shockingly apparent to me in the absolutely negligent manner he was undertaking the task. The staff here buffs the heck out of the used cars till you are barely left with a clear coat in an effort to make it look shiny again. I could bore you with the consequences of such actions but let's just say that the damage at this point is already done. Take it from me, don't buy a car here. Save you're hard earned money and wisely choose to spend it with a reputable dealer like Perillo in Downer's Grove for example with whom I had an amazing experience with recently. Without an expressed written warranty, you are just taking a shot in the dark buying from here and hoping things turn out okay. read more

I am not an expert on cars, but I am a great online shopper, so take this review for what it's worth. I decided what kind of car I wanted (a horizon blue MINI Cooper S with white stripes and a white roof) and I found it for sale online at Diamond Motorworks via Autotrader.com. Admittedly, I shopped for the car like a stereotypical woman: I decided I wanted it by looking at the pictures. But then I researched the obvious specs like mileage, Carfax, blue book value, etc and it still looked good. I continued to search in my area for a comparable car to avoid the risk of buying something I'd never seen or having to fly to Chicago and drive it back, but I didn't find anything nearly as nice for the price (and of course nothing in the color I wanted). I called Rami a couple of times to check that prices really ARE firm (they are) and ask about shipping. Even with shipping, it's among the least expensive I saw on Autotrader! He wasn't extremely chatty on the phone, which I may have perceived as impatience, but he was professional and prompt with responses to my questions and requests via phone and email. I finally took a chance and took out a loan and the car was delivered to my office a few days later. That was actually kind of embarrassing, because I'm not really that kind of girl, "Oh sorry, I need to run out, my car is being delivered!" but you really can't beat the convenience! The car was like new, completely immaculate on the inside and runs perfectly! For the first few weeks, I was afraid she was too good to be true, so I took her to the MINI dealership last week for a once over. Turns out Mia (that's her name) is in perfect condition and even routine maintenance is still covered by a warranty. The guy at MINI asked where I got her and when I told him through an independent dealer, he said, "That's good. I would avoid this place. I was putting a deal together with the salesmen from Oklahoma to purchase a car. I had already submitted all of my trade in info and we negotiated a price for it. The salesman said he would send me a video of the car running and driving in a few minutes. Just had to pull it out of the dealership showroom. I waited and not videos were sent. I text later the afternoon and he said sorry we got busy I will get them tomorrow for you. I text again the next afternoon as I had not heard from him again and asked about them. The he reply's. Sorry someone else deposited on it today. But we will still take your trade? Really???? I was working with him on the deal and they sell it out from under me. Their response was there were 10 people looking and you didn't put money down. To which I explained I am buying from out of state as you are suppose to be a high end dealer who deals with out of state purchases all the time. Buyer Beware! I was interested in a Competition Yellow Mica RX-7 FD3S R1 VIN:JM1FD3319P0208988, with a stunningly low 3K miles and like new interior/exterior. The price was originally $29.9K. Similar low-mileage well maintained/documented R1s have gone for $25.7K, so this was a bit of premium. The website makes the car seem absolutely perfect. And when I spoke to Rami on the phone he also indicated the same. However, when I asked if the car had every been in accident. He said that he thought the hood might have been repainted, since "he had an eye for that kind of thing". When I asked about the maintenance records, he said he didn't have any and added, that this wasn't a "garage queen". That was an understatement. I hired a mechanic who specializes in RX-7s to go look at the car and take a test drive. The car has been in a major front-end collision and has had the frame straightened. The interior has several nicks in it. The radio doesn't work. The performance isn't there; the car isn't running correctly. And the paint job was completely mediocre, you could see tape lines from the masking and overspray that wasn't fully mixed so it an incorrect color. Furthermore, after searching for the VIN online I came across this previous listing that explicitly states the car has been repainted and the odometer isn't even correct: http://www.2040cars.com/Mazda/RX-7/1993-mazda-rx-7-r1-coupe-2-door-1-3l-736774/ I wouldn't claim that Rami directly lied to me, and to be fair, I'm not sure what the rest of his inventory is like. But I can say that either through incompetence, negligence or dishonesty, he cost me several hours of time/effort and several hundred dollars for a mechanic and he has no qualms about attempting to pass off obvious lemons to his customers. read more

We visited Diamond Motorworks this afternoon with cash in hand to purchase a car. Rami Suleiman was very rude right from the start. We wanted to talk about price and he said he would only take $500 off of the price. He made us feel like second class citizens because we wanted to discuss the price. We mentioned wanting to take the vehicle to our mechanic and at that point he didn't even want to talk with us. He seemed really annoyed that we would even suggest such a thing. Like we should trust someone we have never met. Im sorry but $15,000 is a lot of money to spend with no guarantees. I have never witnessed someone so rude, pompas and cold in the car sales industry. Car salesmen usually want to sell cars but I guess Rami didn't want to. This is exactly why I do not trust people. He did mention CarMax and the fact they that they are firm on price.
