We explained exactly what we wanted and needed. Although they did not have the vehicle in stock, the sales team assured us they could locate a comparable vehicle from another dealership. We agreed on pricing, and while we were initially prepared to leave and continue shopping elsewhere, we were repeatedly encouraged to stay because they were confident they could secure the vehicle for us. Because we urgently needed a vehicle by the next day, May 5, we relied on their assurances. We agreed not to pursue other dealerships and placed a $500 deposit to move forward with the purchase. The following day, around 4:00 PM, our salesperson sent a text message stating there was a "logistics delay" and that the vehicle would be available the next day. The explanation seemed unusual, so I contacted the dealership directly. That's when I was informed that they actually did not have a vehicle available for us at all and there was nothing they could do. Needless to say, I was extremely upset. The issue wasn't just that the vehicle fell through--it was the way the situation was handled. We were given assurances that caused us to stop shopping elsewhere, only to be informed at the last minute that no vehicle was available. Better communication and transparency could have prevented a great deal of stress and inconvenience. As a parent, I was suddenly left scrambling without reliable transportation and worried about how I would get my children to school the next day. The dealership left us completely stranded. Fortunately, we immediately went to Riverfront GMC, where we found an even better version of the same make and model for over $1,000 less than the price we had agreed to at Bill KGMC. Based on this experience, I will not return to Bill Kay GMC and cannot recommend them to others. The lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through demonstrated a serious lack of integrity. Buyers should proceed with caution and make sure they have firm confirmation before relying on any promises made. I will also add, in November of 2025 we purchased form Bill Kay Nissan in DG and they were amazing! We already know we will go back there when we need our next car.

Bought a new 2024 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage for a great price as it was "you pay what we pay" Ford employee pricing plus a great Packey Webb discount. I came looking at a used 2023 and got new 2024 for the same money. MSRP $ 36,790 I paid $ 35,195 including tax, tip, license, etc. Yesterday I come in for an oil change and then traded in the Bronco Sport (with 5,015 miles on it) for the car I originally wanted but the price was over $ 10,000 more than the Bronco Sport. I got a 2024 Escape PHEV with premium trim ($ 48,775 MSRP) for $ 5,000 and my Sport! It only has 388 miles on it. It was a NY original purchase that quickly got repossessed and Packey Webb bought it at auction. Great car, fantastic price.

I took my 2024 CX-30 with less than 25k miles to Napleton in Countryside due to a service engine light. They told me I had water in the gas and needed $2200 new injectors. I called BS. They had no evidence other than a WATER bottle filled with gas they shook in front of me to their claim of 'bad gas'. So, I took it over to Castle Mazda at Downer's Grove and told Michael the story. He asked about codes and I gave him what I had. He asked why they cleared codes at the last place without making repairs, which I could not answer. So - he took it in for few days to run some checks - nothing came up. No charge, thanks for coming in - let us know if it comes on again. A few weeks later the light came on again and we took it back to Michael and team at Castle. He gave us a loaner vehicle and took the car in to test. For a few days they could not find the exact issue but they kept diagnosing, keeping us updated. Then, they discovered a pinhole leak in the intake manifold. They replaced the manifold and voila - car is running perfect again. All covered under warranty as I'd expect. These folks know how to do analytical troubleshooting and they run a straight-up shop. I won't service my Mazdas anywhere else.

A major part of their success and why we keep purchasing from Castle is their service department run by Chris Jones. Chris and his team are very friendly and professional. I…read morelooked at a 2017 Subaru Outback, and saw that it had a considerable sized dent on the passenger left door, the front bumper had a large crack in it at the front driver's side, and the bumper was also not properly connecting to the driver's side headlight and front left ¼ panel. I met a salesman by the name of John Pauly, and also the General Sales Manager Mike Nemeth. After negotiations (including running a Car History Report, and included running my credit), we come to an agreement that the car would be repaired (bumper and dent in door), and that if the service department didn't come back with any other issues, that the car would be sold to me for $14,400 plus fees, and that they would give me a trade in for my vehicle of $3,250 (I have the original paperwork given to me by Mike Nemeth showing the selling price and trade in price for my car. It also lists the date of this report and the sales person's name). I then took the car for a drive, and when John and I both heard some grinding noises coming from the front end of the car, both sides. I told him to have the car checked out by his service department, and to let me know what was wrong with the car. As he and Mike had agreed to, that provided they fix what was wrong with the car, I would still purchase it for the same agreed amount. On Friday, 6/12/26, John called me at around 10am, and said that they were about to give the car to the service department, and wanted to know if I was serious about the terms that we had discussed. I said yes, provided that the car checked out with service department with no other issues, and that they fix the car as we had discussed. Later in the day, John texted me back stating that the car didn't pass service inspection., and that they were going to wholesale the car to an auction. About an hour after John had texted me, I texted him back, and asked what exactly they had found wrong with the car. He texted back stating that they didn't tell him what was wrong, but that it was not worth keeping it due to too much being wrong with it. This in itself is hard to believe that the sales person does not know what is wrong with a car that he was supposed to sell. So I had my doubts that he was telling me the truth. On Tuesday, 6/16/26, still in the need of a car, and also wanting to see if the car was actually off of the lot, I took a drive back down to Castle Hyundai. Sitting at the front right side of the lot, with the front bumper crack having been fixed, but still not properly connected to the headlight and ¼ panel, and still having the same large dent in the right passenger door, was the car that allegedly was to be wholesaled at an auction. (see attached pictures). On Friday, 6/19/26, I called the dealership and spoke with a sales person by the name of Andy, and asked about the car. He said the exact car that I was referring to and that it was for sale. I told him that I had stopped by earlier in the week and saw that it had a dent in the car door. I asked him if there was anything else wrong with the car, and he said "No." Later this same afternoon, I went back to check the text messages from John Pauly, and he had erased the texts that he had sent to me stating that they were going to wholesale the car and send it to auction, as well as the one where he said that he was not told by the service department what was wrong with the car. I have proof that 6 texts were sent to and from John Pauly on Saturday, 6/12/26, from my cellular phone account. Currently only 2 texts are showing in our conversation, in my Messages App, from this date, and those 2 texts are only ones that I sent to John. None of John's replies are listed anymore. Apparently, he decided to delete them in order to cover his tracks and hide what he told me. And the car sales people wonder why used car sales people get such a bad rap. The disappointing thing is that John didn't do a thing when we met in person without his boss, Mike, the General Sales Manager, knowing about it. So it only makes sense that John was getting direction from Mike as to what to do. So apparently the lies and deception not only are at ground level, but also at upper management. Most people might simply let this go, but I feel that other people should be aware of the character of this business. Apparently, they will do and say anything to make a dollar ... including not honoring their word and verbal agreement. On 6/24/26, I sent an email to their corporate office to their district manager (initials AD). As of today's date (6/30/26), no response has been received. The silence speaks volumes.

I spent thousands at AMS, never tried to talk them down on a quote and always paid in full on the day of completion so they could have parking for their next customer. Recently I stopped in to get a quote for turbo replacement for my Taurus SHO, the associate sitting next to the owner said "that is a big 11 hour job" the owner chimed in and said "Do you think fixing that car is a smart thing to do? Confused because I thought I had stopped in an auto repair business I paused, looked at the sign that said 'Auto Repair' and lamented that the car may be old but it only has 70,000 miles on it, the engine is good and the repair is much less than replacing the car. In hindsight I should not have to be explaining any of this I should just be told whether or not I can get a quote then Mike (an owner partner) quipped "How do you know the engine is good?" Now I am feeling insulted, and wondering why we are we even having this conversation ? I told Mike the turbo is probably a bad seal, is not leaking oil into the cylinders, the plugs were not fouled or oily, the engine hadn't hydro locked and it starts with no engine noise and then I asked Mike "Why are you trying to talk me out of fixing my car?" Mike then went right back into ridiculing my decision to fix this car by saying "We knew that was a bad engine in 2004 when we opened this shop!" Well that tells me a lot about Mike because in 2004 there was no Taurus SHO and the Taurus that did exist had either a 3.0-liter V6 or a Duratec" V6 but mine has a 3.5-liter EcoBoost, either way I stopped in for a quote and not Mikes or anyone's blessing on fixing this car nor did I need a dose of ridicule for wanting to fix it. Ultimately AMS said they don't want anything to do with this job, I am okay with that, it's their prerogative it's a big job and a small shop but they could have declined with out the judgement, ridicule and unsolicited opinions about me and my car. I later posted a request for quotes on this job and got 9 replies from other garages all with prices within 5% of each other and not once did any of these other repair garages refuse the job or throw grief at me for my wanting to have this car fixed.
