After visiting Diamond Nails I thought I finally found a nail shop that I loved. But after the first day I was really disappointed in the quality of my nails. The next day my nail had snapped off, and I realized that bubbles started to appear in the polish. I went back and had that one nail fixed. Two days later another nail had snapped off, and I was on vacation so I couldn't get it fixed and I decided to just take them all off.They came off with no problem or force which means the quality of the nails was really bad. Got a seat instantly on a Thursday evening around 4:30pm. I liked Lisa a lot, very nice and chatty. However, for $20 pedicure, the polish still warped off my toe after one week in regular shoes. Pros: - Price! $30 for a mani / pedi - Decent selection of nail polishes, including OPI - Clean, newly renovated facility - Friendly staff Cons: - There is always a wait. I've come early morning, afternoon and evening and every single time they're busy. There are tons of free chairs open just not enough staff to help everyone. - Not the best mani / pedi: Again, keeping mind you get what you pay for, my mani / pedi here never last more than several days. This is my favorite nail salon ever. There are honestly probably like 20 nail salons in tiny Castro Valley, and I don't get my nails done very often but when I do I come here. I love glitter gel tips, and they have a hugeee variety here. Also, since my nails were a little long already, they recommended that I didn't need the acrylic tips which I was grateful for because of my lack of experience, I never would have known. Also, these literally lasted FOREVER, almost tooo long! Usually when I get my nails done, after about a week or two, the edges start to lift and you can pick them off, but with these they were literally cemented to my nails. This place is really clean, friendly, and accommodating. the nails look great afterwards, and I just love coming here. read more

I have been a loyal customer for 7 years. The ladies do an amazing job with my manicure and pedicure. Linda, the owner, is always so accommodating. It's best to schedule an appointment to avoid waiting and come in during the weekdays if possible because the shop does get busy on the weekends! The place is clean and they have lots of different color polish, regular and gel. I usually get regular pedicure and gel manicure which lasts me about 3 weeks! I was surprised how good the manicure and pedicure were. I was there about 1.5 hours. They took their time and did a great job on the french manicure and pedicure. I waited about 10 minutes before there was a chair for me. I had no appointment. The spa chairs worked and teh control was not broken like many places I have been to. I will go back again. read more

I've been here throughout the years and let me tell you they've done a good job. Nail Polish is mostly opi, however lately they're so rude! I only wanted a manicure the other day and they were complaining the entire time why I wasn't getting shellac , I mean if iI wanted to pay for that I would have asked for it. Not after the 6th time. So I believe because of me not wanting to upscale she wasn't too gappy with me and the entire time was yelling to her co workers. But in the end she didn't but base coat I had to tell her. I just recently moved from El Cerrito to Hayward and I was looking for a nail salon that could be comparable to the nail salons I've been going to. I've been spoiled by 2 awesome nail salons and I was hesitant trying a new place. After searching on yelp for places nearby my house, I came upon this little gem! Not only do they have over 70 shellac nail colors (more than my previous nail salons) but the ladies are super nice. The place is clean and they even have a tv so you have something to stare at besides your manicurist. Prices are very reasonable. I just hope this place is consistent with what they charge me. Like any other nail salon. Nothing too special but gets the job done. It's the closest to my place so I go here every few months. Depending on the time of the day and how busy they are the quality of the service changes pretty significantly. The prices are reasonable (22$ pedicure) so I don't mind getting a pedicure here (even though it is not the best) once in a while. I do love the massage chairs though. read more

Been going to this nail salon for YEARS! and they are by far the friendliest people i know. the owner, Linda, is wonderful. The staff is great, and gets to you on time if you make an appointment. I went here bc my normal place isn't open on Sundays and I needed a pedi before a wedding on Memorial Day weekend. They're a 2 minute drive from my house. I was really pleasantly surprised when I showed up and found a huge, beautiful, clean nail shop, filled with a large staff of kind nail techs, and seemingly happy clients. They did my pedi and mani at the same time, since I was in a rush, and the lady who did my mani was chatty and so kind. BUT in the past six months they have gotten so demanding with their tips. It's like they get mad if you don't give them more than $5. Just on Saturday I went and got A full set the first night my nail popped off just from putting on my pants today which is Thursday the second one popped off for me closing my car door I call them and let them know that she had the nerve to tell me that you didn't believe me it's not issue for me to pay an extra five dollars to fix them. But she was extremely rudeand didn't want to fix them for me. The three times I came in, I was with Helen for my shellac manicures. Although she offered some conversation and was always polite to me, Helen NEVER had time to give me a massage after my manicure. AND, she always ended-up having to persuade me to do something different with my nails because, yet again, she didn't have enough time to complete the look we had already agreed to at the beginning of my visit. The reasons I kept coming back: fairly cheap for a shellac manicure and I live locally. Also, as I had mentioned before, Helen was always very polite and did a GOOD job with the portion of the manicure she was able to finish. But I found-out today that she doesn't work there anymore. Best of luck her. And I'm glad she isn't affiliated with Diamond Nails anymore. Why? I walked in and they looked pretty busy already. All nail techs were paired with clients, with a few single patrons that were just waiting to undergo the next phase of their nail treatment. One other patron was sitting on a couch, already waiting for her turn. I had a brief conversation with one of the two main nail techs. During this exchange, she didn't look up at me once. Sure-fire way to make your client feel like all you want is money. STRIKE ONE. I took my seat, pulled out my phone and began looking for other nail salons that were open. Had to have a Plan B, just in case. 5 minutes later, another patron walks in for a shellac manicure and a pedicure. They offer HER the basket of shellac nail polish colors, look at me sitting in their waiting area, exchange dialogue amongst each other again,and immediately change their minds. "Here, you wanna pick your color?" As she stays seated in her station and "hands" me the basket. Me: "...sure" After I get-up and walk over to her station to retrieve the basket. I'm pretty sure I DON'T work here and I'm paying YOU for YOUR services.. Not the other way around. STRIKE TWO. 5 min after that, I was taken by a nail technician named Nina (off Mon & Thurs) While I was sitting there, soaking my nails in alcohol, I decided to take a good look around. I never really took the time to before and since they were already so terrible with their customer service, I wanted to gauge just how well they maintained their salon. It is dirty. The UV setting lights? They kept them ON THE GROUND before placing it on top of their work station, in front of the client. I could see inside their open drawers and work stations; cotton (not in a container) floating around in there with their cellphones and other dirty nail files and instruments. There are splashes of red on one of their back walls, underneath the nail polishes. And lastly, their individual work stations are dusty and dirty. Not once did I see any of the techs wash their hands in between clients. And none of them where wearing gloves. If you place the health of your patrons as a concern AND you'd like to minimize cross-contamination during the cold winter season, you would display much better personal and business hygiene at your establishment. STRIKE THREE. I should've left right then and there but I wasn't about to walk-out with even nastier-looking shellac nails. So, Nina proceeded to remove the foil from each of my fingers and opened-up a pack of instruments. While she sloughed the polish off my nail with the cuticle tool, I noticed that the sterilization bag she just opened in front of me HAD NOT BEEN STERILIZED. I work at a dental office and I hold a current RDA license in the state of California. I know what indicators on a sterilization bag are supposed to look like after they've been processed and that bag, those instruments she used on me, we're NOT STERILIZED. I looked up at her and asked, "Are these clean." "Yes, I just opened them." Me: "I know you just opened them but I work at a dental office and we use sterilization bags, too. This bag hasn't been sterilized." "....wait what? What are you talking about? We clean them, put in bag *points to the bag* and put in that box" *points to the small autoclave they have displayed on the back counter Me: "Yea, I know. And after they've been sterilized, these colors *pointed to the blue and pink indicators on the bag* are supposed to be black and brown." Nina stopped attending to my nails, picked up the bag to closely see what I was talking about and began telling me she "didn't even know the bag had these things." From my understanding, all nail technicians need to pass a course in microbiology or at least STERILIZATION to obtain a license to practice. Why is Nina, someone you've hired to work on patrons, like myself, unaware of these indicators and, apparently your standard operating procedure for the proper sterilization of your instruments? Need I say more? I hope I've clearly made my point because I don't want to keep typing these negative things. I just wish they would run their business more professionally and MUCH cleaner than they are now. read more

I've been coming here for 5-6 years now. They have really really progressed. The place is big and nice. They are a little pricey-er than most nail salons in the area but it is totally worth it. If your nails break easily, ask them to put them on thicker. Tell them EXACTLY what you want, dont be shy. BTW- My nails rarely lift, that's big to me because I HATE when they lift. I think they have 10 massage chairs for pedicures. Pedicures are $20 I believe, if you get a white tip its $25. They have 8 nail stations but only 4 or 5 are open at a time. A gel fill, with the glitter color change is $28. If you get the owner, she chargers $30...dunno why. Thats all I get so I'm not sure how much anything else is. Whenever I get something extra, the price is always different front the last. Example: One time I got a design on two of my nails, my total was $32 (with the fill) the next time it was $35... who knows. If you're skeptical, ask before you sit down in the chair. CLEAN. Come when they aren't busy or make an appointment cause they will really take the time to do your nails and perfect every detail. I dont think they are very big on 3D nails, but they do do it. They ARE open on Sundays. Bring CASH ONLY TO TIP. read more

First off, don't make the mistake like I did in paying and tipping first. The prices are cheap, but the services are also pretty basic. My mani pedi wasn't really anything special, but it still took me an hr and a half to leave the place (including wait time). This is only the second time I've gotten either of those, but I wanted to look extra nice for our reunion the next day. I would've been better off if I had done my own nails. I think the manicurist was disappointed in my tip (I asked for change and she only gave me fives, which would force me to give either a really big or really small tip, so I just gave her a five with the ones I had because I didn't like being forced into that situation). As soon as I gave her the cash, it seemed like she really didn't care. She didn't even get all of the prior nail polish off. Then before she painted my nails, I pointed out that one of them still had a chipped layer, so she filed it with a rough file, without buffing it, and proceeded to paint (you can't cover up those kinds of file marks with nail polish). To top it off, there were several imperfections in the nail polish, including some hairs that got stuck in the clear coat. I was bothered so much by the crappy job, I ended up removing all of the polish on my way to the reunion. Talk about a waste! To top it off, one of my big toes became infected because of how much skin they removed from the inner corner, making it quite painful to wear my heels. That mani pedi was an all over failure. FIRST and LAST time here! I had the guy that helped me out. He was the rudest person ever. I simply wanted black acrylic nails with gel. He filed my nails and they were all different sizes and shaped some narrow and others wide. I asked to file down the sides to make them narrow and he refused because he thought they were fine. After telling him that I was paying for them and I didn't like the shape he gave me the rudest face got up and told another lady who came and helped. She was a lot nicer, she finished filing and the guy continued. He was grabbing my hands and pushing them away while finishing the color. Just got my nails done here on 8/13/2021. I got a gel manicure and gel pedicure. The lady that did my feet was good. But there is some over painted parts that go up onto the skin. The lady that did my finger nails was awful, she was wearing an orange dress that day. She was more interested talking to her friends than doing her job and paying attention to what she was doing. She was filling my nails and mostly touching my skin, not my nails. She rushed through it and barley cut away the dead skin on my cuticles. After buffing my nails she did not wipe away the white ash stuff, she just painted right over it. As she was painting my nails she got nail polish all over my skin and I didn't notice until after she was done. I have a gel set at home to do my own and I would have done a better job myself for free than she did. Cost me $70 for the Mani and Pedi. Not worth it and over priced for the job they do. NEVER going back there again. Not to mention they nicked my sisters skin during her pedicure too! read more

I've been getting my nails done here for quite some time. They always seem to fit you in even if their busy. They put these disposable plastic inserts in when doing a pedicure. With all the horror stories about infections it makes me feel safer than just hoping they cleaned the foot baths properly. Overall a great nail salon. read more

Unfortunately their work became uncaring. My pedi was done by a lady who did pretty good job, she always did:) But my manicure was a disaster.
