I have been coming to get my nails done here for about a couple years now. I have tried many nail salons in Howell, they are practically on every block. But I am comfortable here I feel that it's clean and Even though they are usually busy they are very accommodating to schedule appointments. They aren't big on conversation but that's okay as long as they are polite and do good work. I get gel nails and they usually last 3 weeks. this business knows how to take reservations but not keep reservations. made an appointment for manicure & pedicure with a specific tech. she was only able to do my manicure (which was a bit rushed) as she had another appointment arrive. the tech did apologize for the mix up & they did give me to someone else for the pedicure. When I was leaving I asked the owner to please make sure appts are kept with the tech requested & instead of apologizing for the mix up she proceeded to tell me I made an appt with 2 different techs! why on earth would I do that? all she had to do was acknowledge there was a mix up & not make me out to be wrong or crazy. there are too many salons in town to put up with this type of service. read more

I've gone here several times, my nails are very small and difficult to do. I rarely make an appointment So the wait can be long. My only complaint is that they hurry through all the services. I like relaxing and having the fill and pedi but they do it in about 10 minutes for the pedi and 25 at the longest for the fill. They have an ATM in the shop because they don't take cards, only CASH. So my nails looked like crap as we were packing up my Mom's apartment. My sister who lives in Howell drops me off here. She only wanted nails and I needed a mani - pedi. So she figured drop me off and run errands and come back and she could do her nails. Well my general observation of Howell's nail scene is as follows. Every shopping center has one. Oddly enough a Thursday afternoon and the place is packed. The guy does my manicure and instead of starting my pedicure he puts me at a drying station in the back facing a wall. After about 10 minutes and I ask where did he go they say he went home. So being a former Jersey girl I did not take this quietly. They give me another guy to fill the water bath while he finishes up a manicure. He gives me a pedicure to be honest I am much happier with this at home in Florida. This place is cheap enough at $30. for Mani- Pedi. Personally I rather pay more and enjoy the service. Instead it just stressed me out. After a week my pedi looks like crap and needs a re-do already. I would never come back nor recommend. You would be better off doing them yourself. Oh and my sister they got too packed when she returned and couldn't fit her in. read more

Long story short avoid this establishment at all cost. If I could I would give this a negative 1 star. My daughter went there alone to get her nails done and came home with the worst nails I have ever seen in my life. She felt bad and didn't want to complain. I went back 6 days later bc she tried to go back there for them to fix them but they didn't have time (they said she could come back later). She said she made an appointment to go back but mysteriously she wasn't in the appointment book. They said they would make it better. I dropped off my daughter and three friends to get their gel nails done for school. My daughter sent me a picture of her nails because I was not the parent to be picking them up. I was appalled by the job they did on my daughter and her friend I immediately called to Complain spoke to the Owner on the phone she apologized immediately said she would have it taken care of and fixed and she is really sorry. Obviously we did not want to go to the same gentleman that did it the 1st time so we asked to go to a different person within the shop And over an hour later they are better. I'm the kind of person who will sit there and not say anything no matter how a nail tech treats me because I HATE confrontation with a passion, but the service at this salon is just straight up terrible. The two times I've been here the guy at station 2 (Tony I believe) did my nails. The first time he did an amazing job, and this time not so much, but then again I did need my nails done a certain way for an occasion and I don't usually get my nails like this so that's not on him. I will say tho, the service he provides is actually atrocious. I assumed the first time he was just not in the greatest mood and I get that, we don't always want to be at work and some days we're just not in the mood. After reading these reviews tho, I've come to terms that he's just a nasty miserable person. He has an attitude, doesn't even attempt to make convo, is super rough and literally burns your cuticles. The first time I had him he made me jump it got so hot and HE GOT MAD AT ME LOL. I feel so anxious when he does my nails because I'm scared I'm gonna make him mad and he's gonna be rougher with me out of spite. Overall he needs an attitude check big time, sorry you're miserable at your job but that's not my fault, and sure that sounds entitled but it's the absolute bare minimum to have good customer service. Whoever gives bad reviews to this place, obviously has no idea what good service is. To begin, there are several nail technicians that can work on your nails, and all of them are experienced! The place is clean and has free drinks, candy, and plenty of places to sit! And if you need, a bathroom is available. The atmosphere is also nice, as music is always playing and it's rarely ever extremely crowded. All of their tools are sanitized and cleaned properly! If you ever have an issue, they will gladly fix it for you! Although they may be backed up on some occasions, you will always receive good service. I have been going her for a few years now, and they are by far the best nail salon in Howell. The owners, Tina and Tony, are excellent technicians and are extremely friendly. The other technicians, such as Ben, are also extremely good at what they do! They always offer new nail polish colors and designs, which makes for a wide selection of polishes. Last time I was here for my scheduled appt time I sat and waited an hour and a half for Tony to do my nails. It was a Saturday so it was understandable that it was busy but the fact that my appt time approached and I watched Tony exit the building and not come back was a problem. I should've left as his wife made me aware that he would be gone picking up their daughter from the mall and wouldn't return for an hour. I waited for him to get back which took another 30 min on top of already waiting an hour. He sat down and never once apologized for making me wait. In fact, he sat down and acted as if I was a bother and did something offensive to him. No less- I like how he does my nails so I sat through how uncomfortable and frustrated I was. I swore after the last time I was in there that I'd never be back... but I decided to give it one last chance thinking something like that wouldn't occur again. Which then leads me to today...This is the second time now where I've waited over an hour when I had a set appt time. To then finally start being helped and Tony who was doing my nails (as per usual) walks away and starts helping doing someone else's toe nails while I sit and wait another 25 min for him to return to doing my nails. Never once apologizes or excuses himself. Upon his return of doing my nails, I pointed out that two of my nails were coming away from the gel - to where he accuses me of pulling my nail away from the gel while he was helping the other girl. Who speaks to a customer like that? We then Get to the end of the process and I'm asked what color and I tell him white, blue and a glittery blue (since my appt was made over a week ago for a gel fill and design) and I'm then told that they're understaffed and there's no time for a design. I then show him what the design is and he says no no- just pick one color. He just didn't want to be bothered doing a design for me... because Mind you- no one was even waiting at this point to be helped- so why was there no time? So now my beautiful design option (which was just a line and some color) on each nail turns into me just being allowed to choose one color with no design. I finally go up to pay the 35$ gel fill price (that I always do ) I hand over the money- and I'm being told it's $40 as he looks at the money. I asked why and was told 'because my nails are long.' My nails are the same length they always are - which aren't that long- and I've never been charged more money for the length in the 2 years I've been going there. As far as I'm concerned he noticed that I was not giving a tip for the terrible service I received today, so "a $5 add on charge" was all of a sudden pulled from thin air after I telling him I won't ever be back there again. After handing him the cash I proceeded to leave, to where He then followed me to my car - with him yelling behind me all the while. Very professional business owner. Also- your a man following a woman out to her car in the middle of a parking lot... who knew what he was going to do next. I got into my car and he proceeded to take a picture of my license plate... for what though!?Because you didn't receive a $5 tip for speaking terribly to me ??and never apologizing once for making me wait multiple times?? or doing the design on my nails that was requested ahead of time?? I will never ever be back here again. I have never had someone be so rude and unprofessional to me in my life. If you can't stand doing peoples nails and don't want to be bothered doing designs and what the customer requests then quit your job. Otherwise. I'll start by saying that this place used to be good, and I NEVER go out of my way to post a negative review. I usually give a place the benefit of the doubt - maybe they were having an off day. After all, we all have those. But this place has been a disaster the last few times I've come, and I'm done making excuses. Yesterday's service was horrible, the workers were all miserable ("Tony"actually snapped at me yesterday, because I wasn't placing my thumb correctly in the thumb holder while he airbrushed my nails!), and now, one day later, my nails are all chipped. I got a $55 gel shellac manicure thinking it would last longer. To top it off, after being made to wait almost an hour so that they can fix my disastrous manicure, the woman who did the actual manicure is now giving me one hell of an attitude as she fixes her mistake, tugging my hands hard and scraping my cuticles. This is a nightmare. Do yourselves a favor and stay away! read more

I went here on a recommendation from a friend, so I was pretty excited. I called ahead for a dip manicure and the man on the phone said they can do that, no issue. The salon was clean and took temperatures when you came in, but it did not look like they sanitized the items they used. When I was getting my nails done, the man doing them kept trying to convince me to do gel instead, even after I repeatedly told him that I would not change my mind. He was insistent to the point where I was uncomfortable. There's really no reason to be so insistent on gel since it takes about the same amount of time as a dip manicure, but the dip is more expensive so they're making more money just by doing what I wanted ... also the card reader was broken so i had to either use their ATM which would charge a bunch of extra fees or go to the bank and come back. I see Tony here. I have long nails and no one can seem to get the same shape and length except for him! I get a coffin/ ballerina shape and if I show him what I want, he gets it right away. He's also really quick and professional! I've never made appointments in advanced for any nail salon but now I make one every time for him. I wish I could rate this more stars. TERRIBLE experience. First of all, the woman that did my manicure looked less than pleased to be working and regarded me as an annoyance. This wouldn't have bothered me so much if my overpriced (12!) manicure didn't look like complete crap right now. It has bumps, ridges, the color isn't uniform throughout and she got nail polish all over my cuticle. Basically it looks like I had done it and if I were going for that look, I could have saved myself 12. It seemed clean enough, but who knows... my manicure normally lasts 3 weeks since my nails grow slow. This one hasn't been a week and already they look worn out and grown out. I think they don't go to nail bed on purpose so the manicure doesn't last. Didn't even push cuticles back. I won't return. I gave them 2 try's. My hard working nail lady just bought Diamond Nails and is now under NEW OWNERSHIP just 2 months ago. Congratulations Tina! She does fabulous designs which I receive many compliments on :) She always wants me to be happy and is the nicest sweetest lady. Always works hard to cure my ingrown toenails and does give a nice massage on my legs and hands. So first let me say my friend raved about this place so I figured I'd give it a go. Tony did a good job BUT his attitude was bad enough to make me not want to go back. He was firstly annoyed and pushy about me not wanting gel. My nails are super strong and grow way to fast to justify getting a gel manicure so I don't do it. They also hold a paint job very well so I don't get gel. He gave me attitude about that. He then was annoyed I asked for an ombré french. It literally takes 3 seconds with an airbrush so not sure why he was so mad. Then was angry i prefer my nails shorter because as I said they grow within 3 days. THEN he bumped one of my nails and had to redo it. He was made literally walked out of the salon and came back inside. I knew he was mad because of his behavior and he kept saying "mess up" to one of his coworkers. Needless to say even if he did a good job, his customer service was not worth it. This place literally sucks. My mom and I have been regular customers there for many months, only because it is the closest nail salon to our house, and there have been many complaints we have. To begin, the entire place looks completely run-down. Its a total mess, the tools they use are old, and the nail polishes are thick. This has not changed even since the owner, Lenny, no longer works there. Worker Cece once did my nails and there were literal air bubbles in my gel manicure and it looked awful. Many times i would ask for a specific color from the choices they had and they would give me a color that looks completely different. Lenny ALWAYS forced my mom into getting a design on her nail which she didn't want. Once, she made my mom get in the car and follow her to drive all the way to her other nail salon location in Jackson! One time worker Jenny did my eyebrows while coughing in my face, not to mention my head was rested on a hairy towel. And my worst experience I ever had there was the fungus that formed on my nail not once but TWICE within a couple of months. Now I cannot get my nails done with acrylic because it will put me at risk of losing an entire fingernail! My last visit there was about two weeks ago and a man did my nails. He peeled off one of my acrylic nails which also ripped into my real nail, my whole hand was then in total pain and my finger gushing blood and do you want to know what he did? He took that spinning file thing and put that right on my bloody nail! I'm sure he did not clean the tool after he used it either. Bottom line is I don't recommend this place to anyone. In no way is it okay to do something like that. I'm surprised this place wasn't closed down yet due to the filthiness of it. read more
