We are new in town and was looking for a nice breakfast place near us. We stopped in and they stopped serving breakfast at 10:30 so we missed it by 20 min. We ordered lunch my wife had the BLT and said it was good. I ordered the deluxe Mexican dinner. The refried beans taste like they came right out of the can they are bland the rice was no better. The taco was just ground meat also no flavor. The enchilada was the star of the meal tasty and tender. The prices are good but not a place i would like to return to. read more

Stopped at Diamond S for the first time in months. It is currently being remodeled and looks great. Fountain drinks are now set up where you can get your own ice and refills which is nice so you don't have to wait at the counter. I had the Diamond S special and husband had the Meat Enchilada plate. Both were very good with a lot of food. Prices are still very cheap. Was also impressed by the manager as I put my empty tray of chips and hot sauce on the counter while waiting for our order on way to refill my tea and he asked if we wanted more chips and hot sauce and delivered to our table. He also went around cleaning the empty tables. Was nice to see a manager that was concerned with the cleanliness of the restaurant and willing to help keep it that way. read more

We go here alot but today we received bad service. We placed a to go order waited 30 minutes never got our food and they were not busy when we got there watched them take out food to people that got there after us. Checked out Diamand S on Good Friday! Lunchtime saw maybe 5-7 tables of people. Years back this place use to be packed! Wife had cheese enchiladas and I had the chili con queso burger. Chili burger was Really good! Cashiers were very slow. A few tables had leftover food sitting on them for over an hour before anyone attended to them. Wife said cheese enchilada was mediocre! This establishment is purely disgusting. The floors are dirty, the service is very poor, and the food is not good at all. My taco salad was served with shredded velveeta cheese, no tomatoes, and about a teaspoon of sour cream for the salad dressing. The shell was ice cold. The fajitas on the fajita nachos were dried out and tasted old, and the cheese was also dried out; they appeared to have been sitting under a heat lamp all day. This place is so freaking disgusting!! I haven't gone there in a while since I don't like in Bay City anymore but since I was in town I said why not. It was super gross the chips were soaking of grease like I mean soaking that's so gross people can actually get sick of that! Okay this is not a fancy place, but it's got good food. Chili con queso burger and diamond s nachos are delicious.

We typically eat a to go order from there once every week or 2. Food isn't bad, but service needs much help. The calls tend to be brisk but today it went a bit further. We tried to order a family meal and with 2 phone calls each was put on hold before we could even get the introductions out of the way and neither was ever taken off hold. Business must be good as apparently they are too busy to bother with my order so I plan to lighten their load. I'll be ordering elsewhere from now on. read more
