I had heard people talking about Grand Buffet before, and they had said good things about it. Myself, my husband, and my 10 year old decided to give it a try on Thursday around 11:40am. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived. We were seated pretty much right away. Our server was really nice and took our drink order as soon as we sat down. There was quite a selection of Chinese food as well as some American and kid friendly options like chicken nuggets and cheese pizza. There was also a beef pot roast. My kid liked the egg rolls and the noodles. I had the fried rice, lo mein, puffy chicken, okra, cheese pizza, and the roasted veggies. The okra and rice did need some salt, but I put soy sauce on it, and it was good, same with the puffy chicken. The cheese pizza was good as was the lo mein. Roasted veggies were also good. My husband had the pork and sweet and sour chicken. He said it was good. We didn't have any dessert, but my kid got jello and said it was good. There is also a small salad bar, but we didn't use it. My husband said he wishes that the food at the buffet bar was labeled because it's sometimes a guessing game as to what things are. Restaurant was very clean and staff would clear the tables as soon as people would leave. There were also good at taking away dirty plates when we were done with them. I do wish Grand Buffet had a bit more of an atmosphere. It feels more like a quick pop up restaurant. It needs a bit more decoration or something. It just feels a bit...empty I guess? They did have music playing which helped with the ambiance a bit. I did like that there is plenty of seating though. Staff were all friendly and very helpful. For two adults and a 10 year old child we paid around $37.64 before tip. This was for two adult buffets and a child buffet. I had water which was free, but my husband a kid each had a soda. We will definitely go back to Grand Buffet in the future. It exceeded our expectations! read more

The food is hot and tastes OK, and there is a lot of variety. I saw noodles, rice (did not appear fried nor had egg), meatloaf, chicken wings, fried fish, and more. This was the first buffet I've seen with cheesecake. There was even ice cream (not from a machine) for free. Servers were polite and attentive. Bathrooms, buffet, and tables were spacious and clean. Not to be rude but this was not good. The rice and noodles were cold. There were no chicken in the Chinese dishes. It was over cooked batter. The green beans were cold. The egg roll was warm but didn't taste like a typical one. No Chinese mustard, just that packet type that's horrible. I couldn't find tartar sauce for the fish that was barely warm. We had visited King Buffet on several occasions over the years, without issue, and wanted to see their new facility. We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 5:00 pm for dinner. We found out, once we arrived, that it was in fact Grand Buffet. But, we chose to give it a try anyway. We went inside the restaurant and were immediately stopped at the door. They wanted to see the papers for Shadow, my parents 4-year-old Rottweiler service dog, even though he was wearing his vest. No problem. Mom showed the lady his tags and everything. This has happened before, and it's perfectly fine. It's like carding someone when they use a credit card to make sure the card isn't stolen. With that out of the way, they went to seat us. They asked if we wanted to sit in the back room. Mom said we could sit in the main dining room, that it wouldn't be a problem. But, when they seated us in the back room anyway I had a problem. The room was empty. Nothing but tables and chairs. No other diners, no tv, no ambiance at all. We were being secluded. This is discrimination against Shadow. But, more on that later. We go to get seated and they stop trying to seat us at a table for four, even though we were a party of four, and seat us at a table for eight that was against the windows at the far wall. At this point, we are as far from the main dining room as we can get and still be in the building. My mom has asthma and COPD, my dad has Syncope, James has a bad knee, and I have a bad back and walk with a cane. Walking is not any one of us' favorite pastimes. So, we're seated, and they take our drink order. One Dr. Pepper no ice, two hot teas, and one Root Beer. We got one hot tea, two iced teas, and one root beer. So, they took the root beer back to get the Dr. Pepper. Then they took one of the ice teas back to get the hot tea. Then they left the other ice tea when they went to get the root beer. We all started making our way to the buffet to get our plates, Shadow stayed at the table and at least one human was with him always. The food was decent at first. It seemed as if they had just put out the dinner service. It wasn't hot, but it didn't taste like it had been under the heat lamp for hours either. It all seemed to be pretty fresh. But, I can't say for sure if they kept up with it or not. We couldn't see from our seats and the food did not reflect that it was being tended to. While we ate, the occasional song would blast loudly from a speaker placed almost directly above my mom's head. At first it was one song, then a long break, then the same song over again. It played three times through before they started playing something new. And, the music was deafeningly loud. It made it difficult to carry on a conversation, and I can just imagine how Shadow felt with his heightened hearing. The waitress, though afraid of the dog, was reasonably attentive. She got us our refills, she took the empty plates, she was a decent waitress. So, she deserved the tip that she received at the end of our meal. We were appreciative of her facing her fears and tending to us. During this visit, I made a trip to the restroom. I was angered once again. The toilet in the handicap stall of the lady's room is so close to the wall that you must sit crooked. The toilet paper dispenser is so low that it's in your lap. And you must reach behind and under yourself to get the paper. And the sinks are so high that small children and people in wheelchairs cannot reach the faucets. The paper towel dispenser is the same way, it's too high. Our table in the back of this "room of seclusion" was at the farthest point possible away from the food and the bathrooms. And by secluding us, they were perpetuating the stereotype that Rottweilers are dangerous animals. Shadow is a service dog. He went through extensive training and testing to be allowed to wear that vest. He is well behaved and minds perfectly. There was absolutely NO reason to place us in seclusion because of him. And, just because we aren't small people does not mean that we can't sit at a table for four. The way we were treated in this establishment was deplorable. This is my favorite Chinese buffet restaurant! My husband and I have been eating there for several years; we followed them from their old location which was by Walmart and AT&T. They always have a very large selection of awesome food, including several desserts, along with great friendly service! The owners and staff are extremely warm and courteous, and at least one of the owners is always on the premises; when not, they always leave it in very good and trustworthy hands with my favorite of the wait staff. Food was excellent, service was good and price was great. Large selection of fresh food to choose from. Will definitely be coming back!
