Also, diamonds direct treats their customers well. They re-dipped my class ring for me, even though it was not a Diamonds Direct ring, which is desperately needed. Had a great experience purchasing a custom engagement ring from Diamonds Direct - Dallas. Lisa Silberman worked with me to pick out the ring and she was super helpful. I wanted the ring to be a surprise for my fiance, so I came in solo with very little knowledge about diamond jewelry. I had a picture of the style she liked and Lisa was able to help me from there. She showed me options of similar ring settings, explained differences in styles, and we picked the right one. Next was picking the diamond, and again Lisa showed me some options to look at. She explained the various cuts, colors, sizes, etc and I was able to get a real visual understanding of what differentiates various diamonds. We knew the ballpark price range I was going for and she didn't try to oversell me on items outside of that range. Once I picked the diamond to go with the ring setting, we finished up some quick paperwork and they had my ring ready for pick-up in just a few weeks. My fiance absolutely loves the ring, and just doing some quick comparison pricing against some of the chain jewelers, I know I got a good price. I drove up from Austin specifically to meet with Graham Silberman at Diamonds Direct and buy an engagement ring. As I expected, it was a great experience. My family has bought from Graham for many years and when it came time for me to buy a diamond ring, there wasn't any question who I would go to. I had set up an appointment with him a few days before and had told him what type of diamond that I was interested in. When I arrived, Graham had already selected a number of diamonds which fit my parameters. They were all beautiful. He helped me to select a setting and then we looked at each diamond in the setting as well as out of the setting where I could compare them to each other. Graham was extremely patient and took his time helping me. He educated me on the different characteristics of diamonds and discussed each diamond in detail. Once I chose a diamond, they were able to set it quickly and I was back in Austin in time for dinner. Overall it was a great experience and I am extremely happy with my purchase. Greg at Diamond's Direct was wonderful in educating me about purchasing an engagement ring. He was responsive via email, we were able to set up an appointment because I was coming from out of town. He spent the better part of the morning educating my hopefully future fiance and I about diamonds and letting her pick what she liked and what she didn't really care about very much. There was no pressure or perception that he was trying to push her in any direction. He was even able to reserve a diamond that was similar but with larger dimensions to the one she chose. He continued to be responsive but not intrusive by email, and my education continued. Basically, the 4Cs the internet advertises don't matter if you haven't seen the stone and the GIA report and probably both. It'll be up to you to decide what you value in a diamond and an engagement ring, but Greg and his team will help you get to that decision without pressure or intense feelings of regret. None of us reading these are planning to be gemologists. We just don't wanna get ripped off making one of the bigger financial investments and life investments we'll be making in life. This can definitely be a bad experience and after visiting a couple of places that seemed like we were in some kind of bizarre mouse trap we tried one last place before we went online and purchased. Having the knowledge of exactly what I wanted and the budget I had in mind my fiance and I went and were given to Graham. I explained to him that I was firm on the type of Diamond cut, clarity, color, and size range he seemed genuinely relieved that we would easy to work with. After a quick trip to the bathroom I found them in his office, with 3 stones already out for us to look at. Keep in mind a Cushion cut seems to be rare because no other store has them to view. The process from there was easy, a couple of pencil sharpenings on figures and we were done. I am a car dealer and I like simple easy transactions. I feel I was provided the best value and quality without any of the condescension one might typically find in a high end store. My hats off the Graham and Diamonds Direct, we will definitely be back, the service is impeccable, they even put a rush on it so I could surprise her with the ring.
