Came here on a whim when I needed my dress pants to be hemmed same day. The place was a small but nice little shop. They have a dressing room and a platform with mirror where they can measure everything. Overall comfortable environment. I'm not sure the name of who helped me but she was so so sweet! Made me feel comfortable as it was my first time getting alterations done. She charged me $8 and it was done in two hours. Cash or check only. I would recommend this place. read more

Diane was very attentive and nice. Her place does get busy but you don't wait for long. It took a week to hem my bridesmaids dress. I wanted to get the spaghetti straps off of my dress removed and she did it very quickly on the spot. They are so sweet and did not charge me for that. To get my dress altered it was only $30. Years ago, I needed to get a dress altered for my best friend's wedding. I was recommended to Diane's from the boutique where I bought the dress. The owner was super nice / friendly, and did very good work. Price was affordable (cash or check only!) and turnaround was fairly quick. I made a mental note to come back if I ever needed anything altered. Two years afterwards, my sister got married and I needed another dress altered. Went back to the same place, and they did a great job! I asked to have some of the ribbing removed, since it pinched uncomfortably. (My sister got her wedding dress altered here, too, since Diane charged less than 50% what was quoted from David's Bridal, with a faster turnaround time.) Again, fantastic work. I went back several more times to get some jeans/pants hemmed, and each time it was very easy and convenient. This year, I needed to get my own wedding dress altered... And even though I now live much further away, Diane's was the first place I thought of. She did a good job with altering the train and incorporating a bustle. Came here LAST year (Spring 2016) to have my bridesmaid dress tailored and she was fantastic, actually so much so that all of the bridesmaids came here to have our items tailored. I know that some of the reviews state that she overcharges and "friends" give quotes about how much THEIR item was altered for, but c'mon ... not everyone has the same shape, not every garment is of the same fabric, and not all items will be identical. We experienced this when we came in ... someone got upset because another dress was priced differently, even though Diane said the fabrics were completely different and one required more work -- can't please them all. I only actually remembered her services because I need another heavy gown altered and she was first to come to mind. She's great at what she does and is fair for the work ... there is a reason YOU aren't tailoring your own stuff. So I would definitely recommend her if you do not have a preferred tailor of your own. read more

Ripped off. I came here because a friend of mine had gotten her bridesmaid's dress altered for $30 and it was cheaper than the tailor I had gone to before. She said she had done a good job so I went in. I needed the hem done and she CUT THEM IN FRONT OF ME WITH SCISSORS. It took her 2 minutes and she charged me $10. TEN DOLLARS TO SLICE UP MY $160 DRESS IN FRONT OF ME. Adding insult to injury, she charged me a total of $70 to take the dress in. More than double what my friend paid for her alterations on a similar formal dress. I could have purchased another dress for that amount. I am not coming here again. She is not honest. read more

I went in asking for a blazer to be altered: taken in with a slit in the back. The woman gave me all kinds of mixed suggestions ("oh do you want a button") before ultimately telling me she couldn't do the alteration because of "how the blazer was made." So I stood there in the middle of her shop, with the blazer on, as she tried to pin the darn thing, as people were waiting to be helped only to decide she "couldn't" to do the job. Seemed like a cop out to me. It's a tailor shop, I'm sure they've altered more complicated pieces of clothing than a blazer. Also there was no sense of "sorry we can't help you," or "let me tell you of a better suited tailor shop." No sense of help, service or courtesy at all. I don't often leave a business feeling offended; but that happened in this case unfortunately. read more

I hate writing a negative review for such a sweet lady but my experience calls for it. I do admit fault for not trying it on again and for not doing my due diligence but I think even if I did do my part, my gown would not have been ready in time or by my standards. I am writing based on 2 experiences- my wedding gown and a suit. Suit: I dropped off a pair of pants to get the pants hemmed/shortened ($6) and a jacket to get the sleeves shortened ($16). The jacket came out perfect. The pants..not so much. One leg was obviously shorter than the other. How does that even happen? I was there over an hour when Diane lengthened and shortened the pant legs 3x so she can get it to me same day. She did eventually get it to look even but it took 3 tries to do that. Wedding dress: I should have gotten my wedding dress altered where I bought it but I wanted somewhere nearby my house to save on time and travel. That was a bad idea. It didn't even occur to me to take it to my current tailor bc it never occurred he would do wedding dresses. Of course during my subsequent visits to him I see wedding dresses hanging in his store. But I digress. I saw good reviews for Diane for wedding dresses so decided to come here. First visit: I wanted the dress hemmed and bustled and to replace the inner corset ties with a zipper. I was there standing in heels for FOUR HOURS while Diane figured out how she wanted to do the bustle. During this time, customers came in and out and Diane helped them while I was standing in my wedding dress. At first, I was okay with it because I didn't realize it would take so long to do my bustle. About the 4th customer or so, I was getting pretty tired and cranky. Diane asked if I wanted to come back some other time since I was getting faint but given my schedule I decided to continue. Diane started shortening/cutting my dress with her scissors and told me that she will hem it later when she does the bustle. She said to come back in about 2 weeks to pick up the dress. Second visit: Tried on the dress. The inner corset is now a zip-up, yay. Diane teaches my mom how to do the bustle. The bustle is complicated and the dress doesn't bustle properly (uneven skirt line). The skirt is "crooked' from the hemming (some parts are longer, other parts are shorter). Diane attempts to sew a few more hooks and such for the bustle and cuts off more of my dress to make the hem even. I'm there for about 2 hours this time. She said that next time the bustle should be perfect and the hemline even so I don't need to come with my mom next time or try it on again. Third visit (2 days before the wedding?): Against my better judgment, I decide to trust Diane and not try on the dress again and just pick it up. Night before the wedding: I try on the dress. Problems: 1. One of the inner layers of the dress is not shortened OR hemmed (by hem, I mean sewing the raw edges so it's cleaner) so it's longer than the other layers 2. Not all of the layers were sewn together for the hooks for the bustle so some parts of the skirt are dragging 3. The skirt was still not shortened evenly 4. The organiza/tulle part is not cut evenly so there are jagged edges on the outer layers of my dress 5. The sewn zipper for my inner corset is coming apart 6. There are 2 hooks missing for my bustle (We flipped the dress inside out, we re-used some of the hooks and none of it looks right) 7. The hooks are extremely visible in the dress Mind you, this is the night BEFORE my wedding and my mom and I are sitting at the hotel thinking wth do we do? My mom manages to re-sew the zipper on to the inner corset using the hotel sewing kit. We call my dad at home and he brings us some scissors. Then, the night before the wedding, we proceed to cut ~2 feet off my dress (I had a long train) since the bustle was useless and the hemline was still uneven. I spent all that money for nothing, literally nothing as nothing she did for us "worked". The skirt was cut unevenly, the skirt wasn't even shortened to the correct length, the bustle was defective, not all layers were hemmed, and the zipper started unraveling. She is an extremely sweet and nice lady but I cannot recommend her services. read more

Worst experience ever, took two Armani suit pants to be tailored, she Ruined them. This was for uncle wedding and needed it fast and she charged me more, after asking why the pants looked like this and this not what ask for. she started Arguing with me and yelling at me. Paid a lot for such bad service. I had read all the reviews before going, did not help. Noticed for service business they need to understand English well, which they don't. Good luck read more

The tailoring here is great. Really precise with clean lines and great prices. I love this tailor. I don't even live in Brea (although I do work there), and I always go here. Why? 1) They always do a good job. I often ask for original hem on my jeans, and they do it so that if I get it altered slightly long, and need to cuff my jeans when I'm wearing flats, you still can't tell that the pants were altered (the inside lining is done perfectly so that fabrid does not stick out). 2) They're cheap. Regular hem is $7.50 and original hem is $13. Beat that Nordstrom's. 3) They're quick. I almost always get my pants back in 2 days, one if it's an emergency. read more

$15 to bring in a dress shirt, and $25 to bring in a suit blazer. I had asked explicitly that I wanted the "GQ" look. I guess she (Diane?) didn't agree and talked me out of it. So I ended up going to Original Hems in Santa Ana, and was able to get the "GQ" look I was looking for. I had to redo the shirt and suit, and with darts, it was definitely much more shapely. It was also cheaper at $11.90. I guess, if you were adamant that you wanted a super tight fit, she could do it, but I guess at this point it's a matter of tastes. For me, at least, I learned my lesson, and I'll be getting my dress shirts and suits hemmed by someone more "hip" like at Original Hems. read more

She did one of my jeans that had a rip in them the original hem for a bit more money but I was still so happy she could fix it. I'm bringing my husbands pants there today b/c I know she's great! Went with the SO to get some pants let out. Diane was there, friendly, and totally professional. She charged $6 for letting them out up to an inch. (She said it would be about $12 to add more material and let them out more.) Diane gave her honest opinion on the pants - even advising that one pair didn't need any work. I'm a relatively new customer and I am very happy with the quality of service. I had a brand new suit and needed the pants hemmed by the next day. Diane got the job done, and even took off all the tags on the coat for no extra charge. I went to belle's tailor shop before coming here and she said that it would take a week just to hem the pants. They both charge 8 dollars. Prices are reasonable. $6 to get pants hemmed, $14 to get pants waist re-sized, $18 to have my blazer sleeves lengthened (including replacement of buttons). You could probably get better prices somewhere in garden grove, but the bottom line is that Diane does excellent work at a speedy pace. read more

This review is long overdue. I LOVE Diane. Over the 10 years I've brought formal dresses, various costumes, pricey bathing suits, and cheap fast fashion items. Diane NEVER disappoints. She has so much experience that she is able to take any problem I have and create a solution. From bathing suit liners (small..actually tiny boobs), and fine tuning cheap items to fit perfect they look expensive - I know I can always trust Diane. She fixes others mistakes. One time I forgot to withdraw cash and didn't have my checkbook and they don't take card so she gave me a rain check and I came back the next day... Love, love , love this place! I was looking for a tailor for a couple of weeks bc I needed a some tailoring done to a skirt a friend had given to me. I actually do quite a bit of business in this shopping center, however I never needed a tailor b4 this so I never paid attention to it being here. I was driving down Yorba Linda Blvd. and seen their sign and decided to give them a shot. I told her what I needed done and she was very friendly and listen to what I wanted and quoted me 8 dollars which was perfect. The cherry on top was it would be done by noon the next day. When I went the next day she remembered my name and gave me my skirt. I looked at it and it was flawless! I was very impressed and tipped according. I will be back for sure to give her my business and friends that I have told. :) read more

She told me it would be ready in a few days, which was reasonable, but I informed her I would need it a bit sooner. She was very understanding, and had it ready for me in a few hours. DO NOT GO HERE! Yesterday afternoon I brought in my work shorts and a jacket that I had tailored by her a couple months ago . With the jacket I had the arms shortened a bit but when I got home they didn't appear any shorter so unfortunately I had to wait until yesterday to bring it back in since I work a schedule almost identical to her business hours. Do she just quoted me 5 dollars for the fixing of the shorts and assumed since I paid 25 dollars a couple months ago for the jacket she would do the jacket as well. She wrote down 5 dollars total on my ticket. So today when I called to ask if they were ready she said yes but the jacket is going to be 10 dollars . I said I already paid 25 and you didn't get it right the first time , she then started lecturing me on how hard they work etc etc. and if I I didn't want to pay extra for jacket then I don't have to.. I actually felt bad and since I had waited 2 months to bring it back (but as soon as I could) I had 15 dollars with me 10 for jacket and 5 for shorts . When I walked in MY JACKET AND WORK SHORTS WERE ROLLED UP IN A BALL looked as if they were thrown on a lobby chair! When I saw that I put the 10 back in my pocket and just gave her the 5 and grabbed my stuff off the lobby chair. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. HER BEHAVIOR IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. read more
