DO NOT GO HERE! Yesterday afternoon I brought in my work shorts and a jacket that I had tailored by her a couple months ago . With the jacket I had the arms shortened a bit but when I got home they didn't appear any shorter so unfortunately I had to wait until yesterday to bring it back in since I work a schedule almost identical to her business hours. Do she just quoted me 5 dollars for the fixing of the shorts and assumed since I paid 25 dollars a couple months ago for the jacket she would do the jacket as well. She wrote down 5 dollars total on my ticket. So today when I called to ask if they were ready she said yes but the jacket is going to be 10 dollars . I said I already paid 25 and you didn't get it right the first time , she then started lecturing me on how hard they work etc etc. and if I I didn't want to pay extra for jacket then I don't have to.. I actually felt bad and since I had waited 2 months to bring it back (but as soon as I could) I had 15 dollars with me 10 for jacket and 5 for shorts . When I walked in MY JACKET AND WORK SHORTS WERE ROLLED UP IN A BALL looked as if they were thrown on a lobby chair! When I saw that I put the 10 back in my pocket and just gave her the 5 and grabbed my stuff off the lobby chair. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. HER BEHAVIOR IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. read more

I got my wedding dress hemmed and bustled here. Normally it would cost around $100 to work on something complicated such as a wedding dress and believe me, my dress was not as simple as they come. It was only $50 and took only one week (other places take about a month or longer). Diane had even advised that I bring my 'day of' wedding shoes for an accurate measurement. She had me try it on again (I notice she has all of her customers do this before they leave) to make sure all is in good order. I would never go back here. I found them on yelp as they were highly rated. I dropped my bridesmaids dress off on Thursday and needed it rushed. The lady said come back Saturday after 3pm. So I arrive at about 3:30 and my dress ISN'T READY! She said come back in a half hour which I did. They couldn't find my wooden hanger and they don't speak English well. I needed a dress altered for a wedding the next day. I wasn't sure if this could be done. I walked in and was greeted with a smile. I tried my dress on, the woman assisting me pinned the dress to my liking, I paid and was out of there in 10 min. It was very inexpensive for an alteration in general but especially a "rushed" one. Found this through Yelp and then was also referred by a co-worker, it did not disappoint. Although the store is small and a bit claustrophobic, this hole in the wall alterations place turned out to be more than meets the eye. I usually do my own alterations but my sewing machine bit the dust and I thrifted a jumper that needed the zipper replaced. She quoted $20, fine, but when I went to pick it up she only charged me $10 because it was repairable. Honest and also quick! Only check or cash accepted. read more

Thank the internet for Yelp, this place does amazing work. I had brand new yoga pants that somehow obtained a huge slash on the front thigh. To my dismay, I figured they were done for since the stretchy material is delicate but the ladies at Diane's Tailor hemmed the cut so well you can't even tell it's there. I almost want them to sew a symmetrical line on the other thigh b/c it looks like a part of the pant. I also had a pair of athletic pants that needed hemming & taking in. Thanks Yelpers for another great find! The ladies who work here are so awesome! I came in with a pair of jeans that needed to be hemmed. I wanted to start off with something easy just in case things went south I wouldn't feel too bad. I came in and they quickly acknowledged me and made me try on the pants. My usual tailor just measured my legs and made the appropriate adjustment without asking me much else. The lady here (I didn't get her name) actually made me try on different heels so she'd get it right and I wouldn't look dumb with short pants and high/medium heels. I was so impressed! I figured it would take 48 hours to get my pants back, but these ladies had them done by 4pm the same day, with no extra charge. I only spent $6 to get my jeans hemmed and I'm so happy. I am very satisfied with this tailor. It was super simple and they were very efficient. I have never had my jeans hemmed and had quotes from $16 to $ 20 dollars. I came here, They marked both of my jeans and quoted me $6 bucks each!! That is a rare find. I did not do original hem but just standard hem. They stitching was basic but that is all I wanted and did not want to pay $16 bucks for it. I will go back and tell my friends about it! read more

The private boutique I had purchased a bridesmaid dress from messed up my order, which lead to me not receiving it until 2 weeks before the wedding. I was so scared it wouldn't be altered in time, or if it was, I would have to pay a large rush fee. Diane's was amazing! She only charged $35 (the dress had 3 layers of chiffon and a bottom layer of something heavier) and had it done in a week. I picked it up and it was perfect! I am very petite and most of time I end up buying dressing that are too long or fit awkwardly on me. However, I am also very lazy and tend to not get alterations done for awhile, therefore, typically when I go to Diane's I have at least 5-6 dresses that need to be altered. Diane is amazing at doing exactly what I want and getting it done fast and cheaper than most other places. Depending on what I need to be done I typically only have to wait a week for them to be ready; the most being two weeks because I didn't realize it was prom season and they were slammed. Most of the dresses I have taken here were very delicate or had some specific design or embroidery that made them a little difficult to work with, despite this everything always came back better than when it went in! I have been coming here for awhile and I never left a review until now. I recently moved away and now I am realizing how good I had it being so close to here. I live in Long Beach now and most of the quality tailor shops close to me charge $40 for something I know I would only pay $12 at Dianes. I am actually considering driving my lazy butt all the way over here just because I miss the quality and consistency ! My only tip is to make sure you bring cash ! read more

Brought 2 jeans for alteration around noon. Cost me 6 dollars each and were ready at 4:30 pm. Very small place but very fast and reasonable. I just found my alteration place. They do dress alterations too. There was 1 girl with her dress on her hand and she looks like going to a prom. I think she's getting it done just before prom night..i'm not kidding you folks. I was refer to Diane by family four weeks until our event I go with my daughter and her dress. Just need to hem up a bit but the dress has beads. So we tell and show Diane what we wanted. Diane said she can do it and gave us the price. Will be ready in one week. Great glad we got it in on time we thought. Week later showed up to pick up our dress to our surprise Dear Diane decided to change the hem on our dress without telling or asking. Oh and we gave her our phone number call us if you have any questions. Right?! Of course we were very unhappy about that so we unhem it and to our surprise she had cut the dress so uneven that she decided to hem it to cover up her mistake. I then confront her about this and she flips on me yelling at me in her shop with her customers going in and out. And not wanting to helps us any more. I ask her how she was going to fix it and she then challenges me to go to Nordstorm because now she is saying I bought the dress like that. I tell her no way would I have bought a dress that looks like that and Nordstorm would not sell a dress that looks like that. So little old lady Diane challenges me to go to Nordstorm to ask. So I take her challenge and once at Nordstorm in Brea there again your sweet little lady Diane caused a scene yelling in public at Nordstorm Formal Dress Dept. Sales associate then told her no way Nordstorm would sell a dress looking like that. So I ask Diane so how are you going to fix this now? Diane's reply was "take me to court!' I replied Diane you understand I was refer to you? Just pay for dress to keep a new customer happy! Diane said "no take me to court!" Wow what a bad nightmare this Diane's shop was. Not professional at all, rude and crazy woman. Please do not go or refer this shop. For a owner to act and say what this woman did they do not deserve anyone's business. In my book no stars no thing not even customers! Shame on Diane! Oh I guess I have to rate her with at least a star but she doesn't deserve it! Once again shame on her! read more
