I've been to this auto shop twice, and both experiences were completely positive! On my most recent visit, I had all four brakes done, the two front rotors replaced (and the existing front ones moved to the back), along with a full synthetic oil change--all for little over $600. This review is well over due... I have been taking my car to Allen at All Time Auto Repair for several years. Every time he has serviced my vehicle he has been very honest and professional. Allen works in a timely manner and always has been very clear in explaining the issues of my car with a very reasonable prices. Three weeks ago my "check engine" light came on and he was able to diagnose the issue and realized it was something he had worked on my car earlier this year. Therefore, my car was still under the warranty. Allen was very honest, did repairs and called me to let me know. There was no fee and my car is running back to normal. When it comes to mechanics I am very skeptical of giving positive reviews. I have only trusted one in my last 100 years here on earth and that was my brother in law. I have been to many shops around town and I have had good luck on El Cajon Blvd but ever since I started bringing my vehicles here for the last three years. I can honestly say that I fully trust Allan with all of my cars. He has proven to be very honest and forthright. He will never recommend any work that is not necessary or superfluous like many unscrupulous mechanics who take advantage of people's ignorance. I needed an oil change was recommended this place, I read the reviews and liked what I saw. I typically go to Walmart for my oil changes and was in need of one as I was a few months and 2,000+ miles of when I should have had it changed. I dropped off my car Saturday morning and told Allen the mechanic what I needed done. I left my car as I went to go run some errands with my family. I got a phone call a couple of hours letting us know that our cars were ready. I paid $54 for my oil change and the mechanic informed me that my oil was very dirty. While I was driving home my oil light came on. Once I got home, I was told that my car was running loudly and had a bit of white smoke coming out, It was faint so I didn't see it while driving. I called All Time Auto Repair and told Allen what was going on, he had an inkling of what could be wrong. Allen asked for my address and told me he would be right over to look at my car (I called 30 minutes before they closed, not enough time to make it back to Chula Vista). Allen was over in no time and took a quick look at my car. Allen's hunch was right, Walmart gave me a faulty part. Allen replaced the part and my light went off, car stopped smoking and the noise went away. I will no longer be going to Walmart to get my oil changed. They are straight up, no bullshit and won't try to tell you somethings wrong in order to make a sale. I got my brake pads replaced along with an oil change and waited about an hour. They're super nice, effective and I could feel the difference as I was braking today, haha. They are also relatively cheaper than any other place in town, can't beat that! My wife decided to stop by All Time Auto Repair recently for a free inspection and estimate, and we were pleasantly surprised to find the estimates to be very reasonable and up-front with a full description of proposed work to be done, if needed. This auto shop was great! I called during the week to make an appointment for an oil change and when I showed up, he took my car in right away and I was in and out in less than 15 min. The price was super reasonable as well. I brought own oil and filter and it was only $20 for the labor. I also really liked that Allen didn't try to upsell me on other items or tell me that my car has other things wrong with it. I could definitely trust these guys to be honest and do a great job! I really like this place. Allen, the main guy, is always nice and down to earth. I took my car in for them to look at because I was having issues with my transmission. He pointed out there was a recall for similar models years and to see what I could do through the dealership. He didn't charge me anything to look at it. However, I ended up replacing that car. Also, my fiance's car was having trouble, so we took it there. We left it overnight for them to look at because it was already late in the day. He told us he wouldn't charge us to troubleshoot. If they found something wrong, we would just be charged for the replacement part. Long story short, the vacuum needed replaced. It was replaced and we paid about $250. The car runs great now. I found this establishment on yelp and decided to give it a try after reading the positive reviews. I called them over the phone and asked if I could bring in my car for an oil change. The mechanic I spoken to on the phone explained to me the difference between synthetic and conventional oil which I greatly appreciated, because like most people, I don't know anything about cars haha. Once I brought my car in, he double checked with me to make sure that I still wanted the synthetic oil that we had talked about over the phone. Once there, I also asked if they could inspect my brakes (which didn't cost me anything) as well as replace my air filters ($15-20). Lucky for me, my brakes weren't in dire need of being replaced. He told me that they should last me the rest of the year and that I can get them done when I get my oil changed again. Overall, it was an amazing experience and the mechanic was extremely helpful and professional which I definitely appreciate! He was such a nice guy and I will definitely be coming here for future oil changes and to get my brakes done... it's definitely worth the drive with me living in downtown. read more

I walked in at 8:15am Saturday morning to Allen (the owner) there behind the desk to greet me. We had exchanged messages the day before about a list of problems that needed working out and within 5 minutes of our introduction he had addressed the problem and had a plan. To keep it short I brought it in at 8:15am and picked it up at 1:30 that afternoon with no check engine light, and an oil change for $150 (a part was ordered and replaced, the total is parts AND labor) needless to say I'll be going back.
