Mad Pursuits has a few local wines. I have tried almost everything on the menu and never had a complaint, very affordable prices to boot! Check out one of their many events, trivia night, and local bands to name a few. If you are looking for a place to hang out and have a beer, this is the place in Hollister.

Greeted by Teddy Bear, an awesome Australian Shepard (I think) and the laziest of cats, we were offered a great selection from local breweries and wineries. Patio is cozy with gas heat lamps throughout, and open for cigar smoking which you can purchase inside the bar. I'm not a smoker myself, but the concept is fun. A different experience for the small town, but enjoyable and quaint. We'll def be back!!

She did announce her retirement and many signs were posted with the schedule of her last month there. I don't know who Andy A is but he is sadly mistaken because its clear from the looks of the building, she is moving. It is rare these days to find a place that is so welcoming and as comfortable as Bears has been. We wish Lori the very best, she and her beautiful place will be missed.

Staff were super kind and willing to take their time with us, answering all our questions. We walked away with 2 crowlers; kolsh and coffee porter We did drink both cans that week, each were a solid and tasty beer. My favorite was the coffee porter because it had so much flavor to it. I was told they partnered with the local coffee shop, vertigo, to use their coffee with this beer.

So I looked up the 10 best in Hollister and Harvest Time Roadhouse popped up. We showed up in various groups - almost hitting 100 people. They did not hesitate to accommodate our very large group. There is a separate large room to the left and an outdoor area which worked out incredibly well for us and our family. The entire staff was on point and did not miss a beat, got every single food and drink order and were so kind and empathetic to our entire group of family and friends. The staff was so amazing - especially Candace. That girl is top notch and took the best care of ALL of us. I didn't catch the other server helping Candace or the other bar tenders but they were ALL great! The food was good. Drinks were good w/ lots of great draft beers on tap AND have N/A beers (super important these days) and so so reasonably priced for all the great service and amount of food and drinks we got. Ps I'm vegan and they even have vegan options! Huge shout out and the sincerest thanks to Candace m, the entire staff, cooks and the owner. Can't say enough of how well they took great care of all of us! So grateful. It took lots off our family to end a hard day there.
