My boyfriend and I were having lunch and we noticed this place nearby. Since we both really enjoy board games, we decided to walk over to take a look after our meal. This place offers so much! They offer a wide array of games that cater to different audiences. You will definitely find family-friendly board games, European strategy board games, book-based games (Game of Thrones), dice games, and card games. The store also sells board game mats, card holders, all these different colored dice, collectibles, and even game guidebooks. I hate to be posting a negative review of this place, since their selection is great and the staff seems really nice. I'm giving this score because because of two instances in which I happened to be at the store at the same time as female customers did. The first time I happened to be shopping at the same time as a woman I don't know. I and a friend were shopping while several all-male groups of gamers stared at the lone female customers and then made a series of sexist comments that made her uncomfortable. She left quickly. The second time I took my wife, relatively new to table-top RPGs, to grab some supplies. Again, there were several all-male groups of gamers playing at the tables who made my wife uncomfortable by whistling as she walked through the door, and then stared at her en masse as we tried to shop in a decidedly creepy manner. I don't know how the first woman felt, but my wife felt very uncomfortable, and needless to say, neither I nor she will be returning. I'm not necessarily blaming the owners for allowing this atmosphere, but I have been to other hobby and game shops in the area where I know for a fact this would never be a problem, because the owners of those stores would notice this atmosphere and correct it. What I know for sure is that this is a huge turn off and ruined our shopping experience. I anticipate readers of this review will point to the stereotypical notion of socially awkward table-top gamers who are not good with women, and that this is what I ought to expect. As good a brick and mortar gaming store as you will find. Dice House Games is an oft overlooked gem off the 57 freeway in Fullerton, CA. Running a regular schedule of events and a healthy selection in inventory, it is a welcome reprieve from the many dying dreary game stores. Nearly all items are 10% off MSRP, with new releases receiving an additional discount. The only possible issue is that of table space for larger tournaments. Due to the nature of strip mall construction, space can be limited and noise travels overly well from one end of the store to the other. That said, no gamer funk, which is a big plus! read more

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with PTSD. And a year ago, my therapist suggested I join a social group to help me reacclimatize myself back into society. So I did a local search and this store popped up. I knew NOTHING about games going in, except that I use to play Magic as a kid in the mid 90's. So I bought some cards and started coming on Friday and Saturday nights to play. And soon I started coming Wednesdays for EDH as well. I never win, but that isn't the reason why I keep going. Everyone that comes here is friendly, accepting, fun, and patient. And I honestly believe that this largely due to the staff that runs the store. They foster a positive play environment and welcome anyone who just wants to hang out and play a game. This place is more than a store, it's really a community. Absolutely my favorite board game store. I've been to other stores that carry board games and will have a decent amount of games because a majority of the store is geared towards Warhammer or comics, but Dice House is one of the few places that have alot of board games. We can usually find a board game that we already know we want and find many more that we didn't know we wanted. It can be very bad for our wallets in terms of wanting everything. read more

Geat store and Great deals... used to buy all of our games online (amazon) but have learned that Dice House tends to have better prices on many of our games or at least comparable. My husband and I are big fans of Legendary Deck Building Game and they always have stock of the new expansions even when they are back ordered online, and a lot of times at a lesser cost. Appreciate the friendly and personal customer service we receive, even when I come in with my 4 little ones to pick up a quick gift for my husband or family. read more

This is the best of the few remaining game stores in Southern California. Most game stores are devoted to board games, card games, or wargaming with a token roleplaying game section. Dice House Games has a huge selection of rpg books. The owner has always been super friendly and helpful. When I had trouble with one of the employees closing up early (considering it's a drive to get there), he was on top of the situation right away. If you're looking for rpg or board games, you'll probably find it at Dicehouse. If you can't find it, they can likely order it for you. New arrivals are also marked down too, making the drive to Fulleron worth it. read more

Introduced to a new game over the Holidays and decided to try and find it for myself. I called ahead and the game I wanted was sold out and couldn't get before Jan 1st another family night but I decided to stop by anyway to browse the offerings as it has been a while since I looked into board/card games. Met Tuan when I arrived. He was very friendly and helpful. Walked me through a couple of alternative game options. Let me say that his suggestion was right on the money. Not only did we take it home and play it several times, but I later looked up some reviews and saw that game is super popular. Fluxx! Saw their Black Friday deals on their Facebook page and jumped at the chance to buy the hubby some games he has been dying to have for Christmas. Walked in and was greeted immediately by the staff and was asked if I needed any help. I am nearly illiterate in the gaming world, so I was so happy to not have to try to find the games on his list on my own!!! Dicehouse has been my go to shop for gaming supplies since all of my local FLGS closed down. The store is always full of friendly people and has a great selection. The manager is very nice and accommodating. Their biggest enterprise seems to be Magic: The Gathering and the proximity to food locations makes it an ideal place for Friday night magic. Their selection of miniatures games has dwindled, but if you are looking for miniatures I think its better to visit a shop that specializes in them. The gaming weekends they host, or used to host not sure if they still do, are a great way to introduce new players to the various games the shop offers and the community in general. I highly recommend Dicehouse Games for its excellent service, selection, and friendly environment. read more

This is gonna be long and detailed: you were warned. Over the last year and a half my wife and I have gotten really into board games and hobby games. We love playing them and introduced our friends to them as well. Dice house seemed like a perfect spot for us. Tons of games and very clean. I however have a HUGE problem with the service at this location. The owner/operator either seems to have a problem with us personally or just has a general lack of customer service. We must have been there 20-30 times and spent well over $400-$500 on product and have yet to even be greeted when we walk in or approached to see if we need anything. Even when we are the only ones who are there when we enter. Although it doesn't deter us from finding what we need (as we research what we need ahead of time) for any walk in guests who are out of their normal realm this is a HUGE deterrent to never frequent "these places" again. Be that as it may we continued to shop there due to their good assortment of games and I'd prefer to help a small business versus shopping online. Lately our hobby has turned us into exploring Magic and we couldn't be more excited. We headed down to Dice House to ask some questions on their events and maybe buy a ton of stuff. Our questions were given simple one word answers and we were made to feel like our newness to the hobby was beneath his interest. That was the last straw. Here we were, ready to start playing a game that LITERALLY has no end to the product available for purchase and the owner couldn't even give REGULARS 5 minutes to explain how his events worked and help us with purchase options. Is sorting through the cards you purchase off others more important then making a sale? Apparently. I get that you own the place and don't HAVE to do things like greet and be nice but it is definitely deterring people like us and scaring away people who are new to this realm of entertainment. If you don't like to do it maybe hire a few people to work at the same time as you who WILL. I have now begun shopping at another few shops (Card Addiction and Brookhurst Hobbies) and while the selection on other hobby games is limited they have just as much Magic product and FAR FAR superior service. On things I can't get there I will pull from online rather then frequent Dice House. In fact the only time I will go to Dice House will be for events and to compete against other Magic players due to the fact that it is sometime hard to find those things with so few shops around us. Other then that I'm pretty much done with the place. If you're fine with great selection but PISS POOR service and friendliness DICE House is your place. read more

I LOVE Dice House. Tuan is one of the coolest dudes/owners I have ever met at a gaming store. I have been playing at Dice House for 2-3 years now and he has always been very friendly and attentive to what I am looking for. There are a lot of rad board games for sale that you won't find in most stores around OC and (most) of the regulars that play/shop there are pleasant and will gladly play a game with you. It is not an exclusive club of snobby nerds, everyone is very inclusive and will be happy to pull up a chair and play a game with you. The selection of Magic cards is quite impressive for a place that isn't a singles store only, and they are all priced well. MTG booster packs are a little pricier than online or some other stores I have seen, but Dice House is awesome so it is worth it. The decor is awesome with lots of neat posters and framed artwork from games. If you are looking for fun games in a gamer friendly enviroment with good people, this is definitely the place to be. I have been a gamer for most of my life and I have played in many different shops, and this is one of the best I have ever played and shopped in hands down. I recently came in to buy a Munchkin Card game. I was excited that they had a decent selection, however when I arrived home and opened the package the decks inside were not correct. I returned to the store to exchange the card game. I was told that once you leave the store you can not return, or exchange any items but if I had opened the game in store and checked the game I would have been allowed to exchange it. The clerk offered me a customer service number that leads directly to voicemail. Now I have been waiting 3 days now with a card game that can not be played, all because I was not aware of a store policy that makes no sense. I understand you are a local small business but if you are going to sell a product at your location and the product is defective you have a responsibility to exchange it. I didn't want any store credit or a refund, I just really want to play the game. The clerk was nice, but the return policy is wacko. read more

We are total gamers (as in board games IE Catan, Dominion, 7 wonders, etc) and we have gone to game stores all across the country as we travel a lot. Truly, this is the BEST game store I have ever been too. The selection is HUGE, they have this big shelf of Demo games so you can try out the game(s) before you buy them. Plus, no pressure to buy them. The staff is happy to help, but don't breathe down your neck. PLUS, all games ar 10% off MSRP, just because they think games are too expensive. The owner (Alex) takes great pride in his store, as well he should. If you are looking for a good place with awesome intelligent games, in a family friendly environment - this is the place (No posters of half-naked warrior queens, nor a group of shifty dirty people who haven't showered in 3 days playing some questionable game in the back room). Cozy nice game store. But severely lacking in the support of miniatures games. No Games Workshop stuff, or their Battletech stuff is also way outdated. Even though this is the year for the 25th Anniversary Box set. When I called to ask if they had it in they said they could order it. That's another way of saying you have to wait. Now I admit I stopped by and their staff was very friendly. But they entirely over focus on board games and card games. They didn't even have Flames of War or Wings of War stuff. They have a over dozen RPG's games which was kinda neat. But they are not worth the drive for miniatures games. If they carried some I would go back. Not a very balanced store. But very clean looking and very much a Magic the Gathering store mostly. read more

Prior to opening Dice House Games, Tuan (owner) was the manager of the now defunct Game Castle for many years. Before he came on the scene at Game Castle the staff was fairly aloof. I could walk into the store and be there for 30 minutes without the staff taking the time to say hello. Tuan changed all that. He has great personal skills, and has always made you feel like you were the most important person in the room when you ask him a question or just want to talk about games. I was glad he took the plunge and opened his own store after Game Castle closed. Like others have stated he runs a clean, well organized shop. I have been impressed with one of his recent hires, a young man named Amos. This newcomer to the shop has brought his enthusiasm for gaming with him. He will often ask you questions in order to point you towards games or accessories that you might like. Even though you can often find gaming products online from sites like amazon, I have made it a point to support Dice House with my business. Even though I don't have time currently to participate in the different events hosted by the shop, I think it is important to have a well maintained, professional, and friendly shop for the local gaming community to thrive in. read more

I really got into the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars living card games over the holidays, and have been looking around localish game stores near me (Northeast LA / Glendale / Pasadena) for expansion packs for both, and while finding some packs for Star Wars wasn't an issue, finding the larger expansion packs was and finding any Lord of the Rings expansions (which are necessary to play the AP quests) was impossible (1 lone "In The Land of Shadows" saga expansion being the exception). In doing some research for stores outside of Los Angeles, I found this gem! A quick call confirmed they had what I was looking for and the hour drive was so worth it! HUGE selection of Fantasy Flight games and products (best I've seen by far at over 10+ LA-area stores), and I even found two box expansions that FF hasn't printed in awhile (and are going for more than a pretty penny online because of it) for not online their retail value, but 10% off! Their board game selection was also great, and if you're into Magic the staff seems knowledgeable (overheard a conversation going on between staff on deckbuilding for the Modern format during my visit). Speaking of the staff, they were very nice, laid-back, and helpful when I needed them to be; one of my biggest complaints about a lot of gaming stores (new to LCG's but not gaming / collectible cards) is the staff can either bad (un-knowledgeable, inattentive, unprofessional, etc.) or what I call nerd-jerks, throwing their insane amount of knowledge on a particular subject in your face instead of using their nerd-powers for good. I mis-identified a Lotus Petal as a Black Lotus (unforgivable in the MtG world) as I was paying, and when I instantly realized my mistake the guy just laughed and made a joke about how he wouldn't be working at a game store if he had multiple black loti (the correct plural of lotus?) All in all a great experience; I would say I'm going back for all my future gaming needs, but I bought so much product while there, I'm not sure how long it'll be before I actually have to make the trek out to Fullerton again :) read more
