Best board game store I have ever been to. It is by far the cleanest, most well organized, and open store we have ever visited. They had a large section for game play, but it looked like mostly magic and rpg playing going on. No empty tables to join in on a Wednesday evening. They had some sales, but most of their games were still more expensive than online. I was super impressed by their selection! Loss of star for the unfriendly man who was working behind the counter. He didn't look up from his computer when we came in, nor did he check on us while we were looking around. Had he been friendly at all we probably would have bought something, but instead we left empty handed. If you are new to board games be sure to stop by this store. They have lots of demo games that you can try before you buy. This is something I've never seen a store do, so take advantage!! read more

This shop is the best place I've found to play MTG out of 5-6 shops I've been to from here to riverside. The store is clean and organized, although small. The general vibe is great. The owner Toan is awesome and friendly. Usually some good movie or tv show will be playing on the shop's TV before things get rolling (next week, the superbowl will be on!). My absolute favorite part about the store is Booster Drafts on saturday, every other place has FNM and Draft on the same day, when I'd rather play in both! The price on magic products are fair, although I find the single card prices to be hit or miss, with some being priced very competitively and some being overcharged by ~$10 or more. For me, I'm very willing to buy from Dice House because I want to keep playing here! As far as the rest of the store goes, it's peerless in its stock of tabletop games. I was looking for White Wolf books which are out of print, and there was a full shelf of them below the DnD stuff. Floor to ceiling games, board games, RPG, cards, figures and various accessories for gamers. This day we were looking for a gift for my fiancé's buddy who is like, a super-duper DD aficionado (?), a serious player. They have a league and they are not messing around. There are various miniature figures that can be hand-painted to represent a particular character in the game. We were shopping for these figures as well as paint and dice. Tim found several figures that he liked and commented that the prices were great. There was a good selection of paint colors too, he grabbed 3-4 of those too. I believe that he wanted an 'expansion pack' that was not in stock, the owner was very nice & advised that it would be in soon. We came away with an excellent gift & I learned a few things about my fiancé's hobby. What I don't know is how they paint those tiny, itty bitty figures without a magnifying glass or something. I have no idea. So, store was very nice, lots of games and I get the feeling that we'll be back. read more

These guys are great. I have been visiting them for years. One thing my wife noted is the difference between this store and another nearby hobby store. While the other store's owner ignored her until forced to answer questions about a game we were interested in, Tuan on the other hand was friendly, helpful and just an all around great guy. And he didn't even know she was my wife at the time. I try to go out of my way to preorder through Dice house, especially for new releases sure to their 20% discount. This store has become my favorite game store for several reasons: great selection of card sleeves; well-organized stock is at 10% off retail price; and new items and preorders are 20% off retail price! That's as good as buying online from other vendors, but you get to support the local game store... They also have an excellent selection of X-Wing and Armada items. Finding a local B&M is something very difficult to do in this day and age. Luckily, Dice House Games provides everything i'm looking for in a shop and more. I've only recently gotten in board games and dropped by to check out the selection and get a recommendation. Tuan, or any of the other employees, are always very helpful offering suggestions based on games we've enjoyed in the past or if we're up for something new. You may find yourself among the many TCG players or even a family opening up a new game they bought. Usually plenty of space, unless it's tourney night, and drinks/snacks for purchase. Also got a movie playing to pass time if someone's taking too long on their turn. Been a fan since day one and try to make the trip any time i'm in the area. One of my favorite stores in OC! So glad that I stumbled upon it online. Owner is extremely friendly and helpful in providing insight into any games. There is a great demo game section so you can try out some of the games. It's an overall great experience to come to Dice House and spend an afternoon playing games and buying something for yourself. I would highly recommend Sunday board game day for any board game fans to hang out and try some of the demo games with other gaming fans. Ever since the first time walking in this store, about 2 years ago, I have had nothing but excellent experiences. Tuan and Cooper are both very helpful and more than willing to go out of their way to accommodate customers. This store really brings back the sense of service that has largely been lost in today's commercial world. Any sales professional will tell you that the best way to keep a customer is to serve them, and DHG personifies this. We made the hour drive from Redlands to see if they had Tokaido because we were on a mission. Upon entering you may wish they had a fan or two going but immediately you notice that the folks at the tables are pleasently enjoying whatever adventure world they are gaming in. Jason sits behind the counter eager to answer your questions as he knows everything about every game in the shop. He is friendly and most helpful. We picked up Mysterium. Dice House Games just rolled a perfect 20! Hats off to Tuan for A+++++ Service! I remember going to Dice House a year ago and the selections were pretty limited. However, when I come back now this place has everything I want. I'm a huge board game fan and I was looking for the Marvel Legendary Fantastic Four which was starting to run out of print. Lo and behold Tuan has it and a bunch of more. Furthermore, Tuan told me that if I needed something that he can order a copy just for me. Excellent Service indeed! Now onto the collection. He has a wide array of RPGs, MTG, Euro Board Games (Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, 7 wonders, terra mystica, agricola, etc.) and American Games (Arkham Horror, Descent, zombicide, Marvel Legendary etc.). The best thing about this store are the demo games. The only other store that I know that does this is Board Game Empire in Pasadena but all of their games are worn away and the selection is limited. Here, Tuan gives you pretty much a huge selection of games and he lets you just hang out and chill. I saw family and friends playing with one another. Super cool! Furthermore, Tuan is trying to promote board games and MTG as a whole with dedicated days. For instance, Sunday is board game day where patrons are encouraged to bring their board games or play with Tuan's demo selection! Went in on a Sunday morning and there were 20 people playing a game. No one at the counter. Picked out the game we wanted and waited at the counter. No one was there. All the game players who Im sure are regulars could not be bothered to look at us let alone say the sales person would be right back! So we left! My daughter really wanted to buy this game so i called thinking maybe they were just closed except for the tournament. Yelp listed it as open so when i called the salesperson apologized and said he was on a break. So i went back in. So a sale was made only because i gave them a second chance. read more

I first found out about this place maybe two years ago, by accident, as I was a few stores down trading in some text books. As expected when entering a store like this midday in the middle of the week, it was empty besides Tuan (I believe the owner). He was very nice, and didn't mind that I was browsing through their selection. In my past experiences when entering non-franchise hobby stores, if you are not a regular, sometimes they will hound you on what you want and what you are doing, making an uncomfortable and unfriendly experience. I never got that feeling from Dice House. One of the things that really caught my eye about this place was that it has a really nice selection of board games and roleplaying books for sale. Also, their prices on everything that I ever bought there were very reasonable (primarily MTG related products & board games). If they do not have something you are looking for, there is a good chance that Tuan can order it for you to come to the shop too. My girlfriend was looking for a new set of dice, and Tuan ordered a special color scheme from a pamphlet for her, and we were not charged anything extra. Even when we forgot to pick it up, we came in almost a month after ordering and as expected, they had it waiting for us. I also called them once right before they closed, inquiring if they had something in stock. They did, and Tuan stayed there an extra 5-10minutes after their closing time for me to make it over and pay for it. This kind of customer service is extremely rare nowadays, so it is very much appreciated. About 20 of us gathered to play various games on their table tops. They were very accommodating and let us order pizza and bring drinks. I learned munchkin fu that evening and had a great time. They seemed to have a number of games in their small shop. I'll definitely come back here to play games, if anything for atmosphere. I came to this location on the suggestion of a friend of mine. We like to play board games with our Girlfriends and he said that this place had an excellent selection. The place does have a good selection, however the service I received for making a simple mistake was not good. Here is what happened: I went into the store to buy the game "Pandemic" (Which is an awesome game). I bought the game, got home, opened it up, and then realized that I had purchased the expansion of the game and not the original. Since it had only been about 15 minutes since I was there I called the store and told them I had purchased the wrong one and wanted to bring back this one to get the original. The owner "Tuan" politely told me that he could not give me a refund because the shrink wrap was opened but would give me a 10% discount on the original. Unfortunately that is not good customer service. I wanted the original game, not the expansion, and I literally was there 20 minutes ago. So Tuan - Not only will I not be coming back to your location, but my friend who has been a customer of yours for a while will not be coming back either. All because you couldn't give a refund to a client who bought something 20 minutes ago and came back to exchange it with a receipt. read more

I like this store, they have quite a selection of board games which is quite rare since most stores only focus on magic the gathering and a small amount of random things. So it's pretty cool for me as I am more into board games. When I pre-order a game I don't have any issues getting a phone call to pick up my game, even 2 sometimes which is pretty nice if I'm a bit busy and forget for some reason. The owner is usually very friendly or if he's pretty busy running a magic the gathering tournament at least is attentive when he has a moment. Also he can tell the type of people who want help and who just like to browse which is nice as well. If there was any complaints it would be during the spring/summer season it can get pretty hot which can suck but I think he got some kind of portable AC unit as of late. read more

Best game store in OC. They easily have the best selection of "beer and pretzels" games (cardgames, boardgames, etc) I have found and they have most of the more popular RPGs on hand as well. Anything not on hand can be ordered through them pretty quick. Unlike most local game stores, the store is not cluttered and disorganized, The products are presented well and the limited store space is used efficiently. The owner, Tuan, is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Apparently they hold regular events but I've only attended one. It was a playtest of D&D 5 and I had a blast- the other players were pretty cool and there was none of the elitist and weird attitude I've seen the regulars of other game stores project to "outsiders". My only problem is that I manage to go there only 2-3 times a year. read more

Such an awesome game store. This is the first one I'd been to in this area. The only other one I knew about was some place in Santa Barbara. This store is really clean, organized, and has good space to play and try out different games before you even buy. They have a fabulous collection of LotR-themed games & lots of Munchkin games too. I walked in looking for a game like "WarHammer Quest" the old school fantasy dungeon game, and the owner helped us immediately, and went through several options with me, he also personally recommended we get "Descent Journeys into the Dark" and it couldn't have been a closer match. I didn't know anything about tabletop games till a year ago, when I watched Wil Wheatons show tabletop on Youtube. From then on I fell in love with tabletop games and I now have quite a big collection of tabletop games. Whenever I buy tabletop games I usually go to Frank and Sons collectible show, sadly they have a very limited selection. Two days ago I went on Yelp and I looked up tabletop games and i found Dice House Games. When I came to the store I was amazed by how awesome it was ! I was also surprised about the size of the store, It reminded me of the Tardis in Doctor Who where it looks small on the outside but big on the inside lol. When I went in I saw a very wide selection of games and they sell some Magic cards and I felt like I was in Heaven. I was also greeted by a store clerk and was asked if I needed help which I felt was really nice ! What I also like about the store is that they have 10% off on their games which is awesome! I come here periodically to check out if there are any new games to entice me. Table-top games ran their course for me and I not longer have a group or much interest in them but I'm all for card and board games. They have a pretty good selection of card games and strategy board games. The perimeter is full of merchandise and the center is all gaming tables. If the room is full of gamers you're not going to be able to shop easily as there is little room to browse. read more
