Dicey's is the go-to night club for any short or long term traveler. After 22:00 (10 pm) you will have to pay a 10 euro cover but most nights drinks are around 2 euro a beer. If you are looking for a long night of dancing and flirting, Dicey's garden is your place. If you can make it til the club shuts down around 2 am, Krystle, the upstairs bar opens to keep the night alive. read more

A friend held his birthday party at Dicey's on a Sunday evening, and even on a Sunday night, the place was quite full and quite LOUD! Just the same, the atmosphere was very festive, and nobody seemed to mind that we brought in a cake, etc. People were dancing, hanging around, and just generally enjoying themselves. If you like loud noises (with the odd great cheesy tune), cheap drink and food and being surrounded by teenagers and middle aged singletons this is the spot for you! In fairness the prices are brilliant. Thursday is 2€ everything. They have a great garden/smoking area. Unfortunately the crowd leaves a lot to be desired. As part of Russell's court, Dicey's is known as 'Dicey Reilly's' to some. For daytime dining, there's a fantastc carvery lunch every weekday, and then in the evening they have lots more to choose from! The atmosphere is comfortable and homey, there's loads of plasma TV's to watch the match, and the walls are made of a rich wood for a warm ambiance. Comparing Dicey's Garden and Copper, I would prefer to come to Dicey's Garden. Dicey's definitely has better music selection than Copper. Dicey's has multiple different levels. You can choose to stay inside and have a good dance, or you can go outside and have a great chat with your friends. Good thing is that they have heaters installed outside for cold weather. There is also downstair dance floor I believe, but I have never been to that part of Dicey's yet. I would say my experience here was just okay. read more

Everybody knows Dicey's in Dublin. Famous yes, amazing no. It's a cheap place for international students. Really big. But it is cheap (especially on Tuesdays). If you want cheap booze and loud music go there. But there are better places in Dublin for that. Not great, no bad. read more

Dicey is the WORST place I've ever seen in my whole life. I went there on a Tuesday night and I swear it was a real nightmare! You couldn't move and breathe, standing in line 40 minutes to get something to drink/eat, food was crap. beer on draught was surely watered-down, people were packed in like sardines in a can and it stank of sweat everywhere. The worst nightclub I've ever been too. I tapped the disco ball in the smoking area and was removed with excessive force by some midget with zero qualifications and who no doubt only got the job because Daddy owns the place. I am not the type of person to lost negative reviews about anywhere but Dicey's is the one and only exception after living in Dublin for three years. I would strongly suggest that anyone looking for a decent night out looks somewhere else. Anywhere will be better than Dicey's and I will be contacting them over the treatment I received. Dear prospective customers, Highly recommended not going here. If you put in the effort to look there are a lot better and cheaper clubs in Dublin. Not only do they false advertise but the bartenders also short you on your cash. Be sure to always show the bartenders how much you are paying them and make sure you get the correct change because if you don't they will not repay you in your correct change. I go to school in Dublin and have many friends who live here year round who have been shorted on numerous occasions. Witnessed some guy get shorted thirty dollars last and was not repaid because the bartender 'claimed' he did not pay what he said, after numerous witnesses watched him pay in a fifty instead of a twenty. Feel bad for the guy because he was a traveler with limited cash but this bar did little to assure he had a good visit. Terrible customer service and very expensive bar. I give three stars because it is not exactly my kind of deal, but it definitely has its qualities. A lot of people from all over the world packed together, drinking pints for 2 or 2.5 € (if you go on tuesday or sunday), getting drunk, dancing and acting crazy. The music is what I personally would consider very bad dance music, and is also way too loud, so loud you can barely talk to your friends. But still the unbelievably cheap beer and the amount of young foreigners going wild make this place worth to go once in a while. read more

I've only been there once on a Sunday night, which unfortunately happened to be on a bank holiday weekend. Entrance was supposed to be free before 10 or 11 pm, but we found out at the door that we had to pay 10 euros (I think it was because the next day was holiday, even though the girl at the door didn't bother to explain). The place was literally packed with people, it always took us 20 to 30 minutes on average to get a drink and the line for the bathroom was always very long. People push you and don't really care if they spill drinks on other people, overall quite rude crowd. It could be better on other nights, but honestly I don't think I want to try it again. read more

We popped in to Dicey's after going to Taste of Dublin to sit and enjoy a few pints with our friends. It wasn't too crowded for a Friday night, so we decided to go outside to the garden and grab a table, but every table was "reserved". So after not finding anywhere to sit outside, we ventured back in where we found exactly the same thing...every other table was "reserved". It was approximately 10pm, so why would a place hold tables for that long when paying customers are looking for a place to sit and hang and spend more money? We found a corner with a ledge to hold our beers and jackets, purses and drinks, but were told by a security guy that we couldn't use the ledge to hold our purses, jackets, etc. This particular security guy made it a point of coming over to us every few minutes with another complaint...take your umbrella off the ledge, don't hang your jacket over the radiator, remove your purse from the ledge. OMG, he was relentless. We are all grown adults, some of us in our 50's and we did NOT need this type of harassment. We finished our drinks and left, but on the way out, he was giving a group of women a hard time about hanging their jackets over some stools. Get a life! It's a nice pub, but the way it is run is horrible and their security staff need to take their job a little less serious!!! They need more seating and less annoying security guys in this place. I have been here a few times, and every time I have left underwhelmed. As many people here have pointed out, their security staff seem to be a bit infatuated with themselves. After queuing to get in they act like they are doing you a favour by letting you pay to enter the place. After you get in you quickly find half of the place is sectioned off for private events, and again they have security everywhere that constantly stops you when you go anywhere near the doors to tell you that you can't go in that area. I must admit, I like the outside patio area with the hanging heaters - it is a nice place to have a drink even in the winter, but the price of drink here is very dear. Not only is it dear, they raise the price every hour from 8PM, so by the end of the night I was paying like €7-€8 for a bottle of Coors Lite. Multiply that times the eight lads in our group and you are looking at a very expensive round of drinks. Would I go back? Not unless lots of people I know were going there for some sort of pre-planned event, which ironically enough was the reason I was there the last two times. read more

As we had a friend home from Australia we decided to reserve a section for Friday Night in Dicey Reillys. At 9.30pm some of my friends arrived including the person who had reserved the section, they were met with a hostile attitude by the security on the door. The security could not find the reservation on the list and were not only rude but also didnt apologise for their mistake. Tables had been reserved inside and security then stopped two of the girls and claimed they were too young despite both having sufficent identification. When the two girls were leaving to go somewhere else, the security made insulting and demeaning comments. When myself and my other friend arrived at 10.30pm, we were both completley sober as we had both just finished work at 9pm, we were instantly met with a horrible attitude by the doormen as soon as we mentioned we were part of the reservation. The doorman claimed we both had too much to drink. This was completely untrue as we both had not had any alcohol at any point. While trying to explain this, both bouncers were allowing people who were actually very obviously intoxicated and in casual clothing into the pub. As we were being met with a hostile attitude by this particular doorman, I asked politely to speak to the manager. Having been made wait outside for ten minutes we eventually got to speak to a manager called George. He was very polite and actually said if it was up to him myself and my friend could have went into the pub as we both did not appear intoxicated to him at all but he could not go against the security on the door. We then contacted our ten friends who were inside and brought our custom elsewhere. While waiting outside though, the doorman began making disgusting insults to one of our friends who had been inside. Not only did the bar lose twelve peoples custom, who had all arrived sober, were all in the mid to late twenties and appropriately dressed but we had gone to the trouble of reserving an area so we could enjoy the night. To have this happen at the beginning of a night out and been met with such a disgusting attitude from the doorman who frankly was a very bad judge of character considering the drunken people they were allowing in. It would appear the particular doorman took somewhat of a personal grudge against our group and did everything in his power to try ruin our night. My friend books a lot of corporate events for her job in Dicey Reillys but after the treatment we recieved, I highly doubt she would consider your establishment for her companies clients again. If the doormen can be so aggressive and antagonizing to people on the door, I would worry how they handle situations with people who were drunk on any night. If you want to be met with an attitude from guys who takes the fact their working for €9.50 an hour out on everyone, then go ahead but I would strongly recommend anywhere else. read more

Went here with a group of 4 on a Sunday night. We met friends there and there was approx 10 of us in total (All aged around 30, nobody had been drinking earlier in the day). We sat by the door and had had 2 drinks when my 2 male friends went to the bar to order another round in. One of the guys had hiccups and when standing at the bar was asked to leave. Apparently you cannot have hiccups in Dicey's. The doorman who asked him to leave had no valid reason for doing this and in fairness his colleagues looked bemused too. Anyway I certainly won't be back and neither will any of the group that were there with me. read more

Very unpleasant. While the majority of security are trying to do their job (and succeeding), there is at least one thug/bully on the pay roll. At first he was rude (regarding where he wanted us to put our coats) and then became aggressive. Management did not want to know. Called to make a complaint and I was fobbed off with "the manager is very busy right now." Asked when it would be appropriate to call back and the response was "We're always busy." Appalling doormen. I was refused entry last night. I'm a 35 yo man I was nicely dressed. I don't drink. I happened to be at a loose end in harcourt street and thought to check out where the queue was as there was good music coming from inside and the people outside seemed to look decent. I approached the steps and was stopped and questioned by a doorman as to where did I think I was going. His manner was intimidating and mocking. I wasted my time trying to explain to him I was simply out to enjoy the night and certainly wasn't any threat to anyone for him to refuse me. He was then flanked by the other two doormen as if they needed to make a show of strength incase I was going to become violent! I was then mockingly informed I had no hope of getting in and I should take myself away from the entrance. This left a really sour taste in my mouth and I returned back to my hotel in disgust. To the owners or the management who employ these neanderthals... Since when did it become the remit of a doorman to intimidate and insult the people trying to simply have a good night out and spend money in their club.... The behaviour from your employees was nothing short of disgraceful and you should employ people who will welcome your customers and enhance their night out.... Which after all is the only reason u have a business..... To provide entertainment. I will never attempt to enter any of your premises again and will ensure I tell everyone of this ridiculous experience. read more

Had an amazing first night here but the bouncers and owner need to get real. The bouncers all act and treat people like thugs. Nobody wants to be supervised like a child and see bouncers standing everywhere they look, there is no need for it. The second night I went everyone seemed hostile and were rude as hell. I asked the bouncer if I could go upstairs with my friends and they denied me and I thought it was because I had a beer in my hand and could not understand them because it was so loud. So I was drinking my beer irritated and a bouncer tells me to get up for sitting out of the way next to seats already taken. So I stand up right there and finish my beer and a friend comes and tries to tell them I'm with them and they stop me again and I explain my friends are up there and he says ''stop yelling at me get the fuck out of my face''. I would not bring my worst enemy here . Full of underage children with fake IDs but when my twenty year old friends tried to go in the ignorant and obnoxious bouncer moved ages to 21 and then to 25 later in the night. The drinks were so over priced apart from 2 Euro pints. We left sooner than we wanted having spent 15 to get in. We went to Opium rooms that night and then into palace the next night . Inside was nice and the barstaff where ok but the people on the door and the floorstaff ruined the night by being rude, overly agressive and taking bottles off tables that where nearly full.The night I was there was a birthday party, the birthday girl had an area reserved and paid for,the doormen still wouldnt let some of the guests in for no apparent reason and when the girl herself went out to ask they said they didnt need a reason to refuse entry! This place is a pox on Dublin. When I think about the city I love - beautiful Georgian architecture, friendly pubs full of fun conversation, great food, amazing literature - it feels a million miles away from this dump. If you are unfortunate enough to get past the psychopathic bouncers, you will find an acne-infested pit full of teenage waste and bad music. But there's a good chance you won't even get that far. The bouncers are genuinely the worst in the entire city. If they take exception to you, you're in trouble. They hated me, probably because of my foreign accent, and refused me entry for supposedly being drunk even though I was completely stone-cold sober. When my friends tried to complain, they were threatened. Looking at another review, we evidently got off lightly; nobody was physically harmed, but I think we all felt genuinely scared by the power-crazy and excessively aggressive door staff. These people have no reason to behave like this. They are guarding the door to an ill-reputed club, not some kind of Valhalla, yet their lust for aggression seems to lead them to seek confrontation with anyone who dares to go near them. Whoever you are, I think you should do everyone a favour and avoid the risk of being insulted or worse by not visiting this dump. Everybody I know is boycotting this club because of how they treated me and my friends. I would like to think this doesn't happen to anybody else but the only way to avoid that is to avoid Dicey's like the plague. read more

was at dicey on wed 23rd may at approx 2:15 asked for two west coast coolers and a vodka and received two west coast coolers and a splash of red bull. when i complained i was offered a vodka by a very aggressive bar manager, and i asked for my money back, after much face pulling i got my 5:20 euro back and was escorted out by a female security guard, i did not behave in a aggressive manner, in fact i don't drink and was ordering drinks for my two friends, i will never return to diceys and will advise friends and anyone esle not to go there, in times that we are living in and this what we have to expect, an absolute disgrace. i can imagine others have been riped off in the same manner, check the drinks u order are correct. never heard of a shot of red bull ??? read more
