This drive-through and window pickup restaurant in Gainesville is a popular burger joint in the college town. They only have outdoor seating. I had the Impossible Burger $10.64 but they also offer a veggie vegan option. Also sweet potato tots $3.92. Everything was delicious. Seems like a small burger and could have a better bun and add tomato. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Dick Mondell's is a great place to get burgers! Though their burgers are great, my favorite item on the menu is their sweet potato tots! FYI: Their cash register does not allow for 'swiping' cards - only inserting or tap. For anyone that comes with a gift card - just be aware of that!

My friends and I came here for dinner after the first home game and LOVED our meals! Dick's is a drive-thru type of eatery where you order at a window. There is no indoor seating, only outdoor. The menu is super simple and classic. The prices are unbeatable! The service is pretty quick and they are really on top of things. I ordered the "original big dick" which included two 4oz beef patties, lettuce, pickles, onions, and their famous Dick's sauce. I added American cheese to mine as well. Along with my burger, I ordered a small fries and side salad. The burger was served right from the griddle and was so basic and yet so good. It wasn't overdone with the toppings, etc. The simplicity of it is what made it so memorable. The sauce isn't extremely overpowering either and is the perfect burger sauce. The patties are similar to a smash burger and the melted cheese on them was heavenly. The bun was buttery too. The fries were really good and fresh as well. A little salty, but still good. I enjoyed my side salad, it was good, not great. All in all, our experience at Dick Mondell's was amazing. The environment is super chill and gives retro vibes. The burgers are so good! They're juicy and full of so many good flavors. The price alone is a reason to eat here considering how filling our meals were. It is the perfect way to spend a night after a long day of tailgating! This will for sure become our go to burger place in Gainesville!

Dick Mondell's has delicious "fast food," but that tastes so much fresher. It's also great to be able to support local and still get a delicious burger! I really like their impossible burger and the sauce is amazing. It is a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality you get. I'm not a big burger person typically, but when I get the craving I'll always choose this one! The outdoor seating is nice and the service is good, sometimes a bit slow though. I like that they have both a drive through and a walk up option and it's a very cute little place!

Well Dicks was recommended to us from a friend, had never heard of it, so i looked them up, was curious so we decided to try them out.. drive there is not too bad , students are back in town so expect a lot of foot traffic there, there was only one car ahead of us, but quite a few at the walk-up window. Prices are reasonable for a burger spot. The girl was friendly who took my order, the order came up pretty quickly. We got home and the food was still hot, the chicken sandwhich was good, little overcooked, but still tasty. The tots were sweet and fresh, the burger my wife ate was good as well, have had better , but it is a unique spot which gets all its food from local farms, so by buying from them your also supporting local farmers, businesses. The only downfall is the seating there is outside, and is limited, so its more of a grab and go locale..

Enjoyed a visit here during Fest weekend recently! Love that they have a variety of options, including those for vegans/vegetarians. My husband got the classic burger and I ordered the Impossible burger; we shared a large order of fries. Despite how busy they were, the service and quality were great. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in Gainesville!

Some of the best burgers in town. High quality, fast and hot. Staff is always nice. Prices are actually affordable. There is a drive thru but also a few outdoor seats.

Our first time visiting Dick Mondell's in Gainesville. We ordered 3 Classic burgers that we loved with a side a fries & a soft drink. The spot is outdoor eating or drive through for take out. As always we always search for places that are most reviewed and just simply aim to stay away from chain owned restaurants. I asked for their sauce on the side for all three burgers, and mayo & ketchup for the fries. The food came out in a brown paper bag and I must say after waiting for about 10 minutes and not having our drinks yet we felt a little odd as in any place drinks are for the most part the first thing that is served. After asking for our drinks and opening the brown bag, we noticed there was only one side cup of their sauce and only two napkins. When my daughter walked to the window to ask for a few more napkins and two sauce side cups I couldn't help but notice the staff was not too friendly. Customer service brings people back and sustains a business. All it takes is a friendly smile and a willingness to help others. Now you may be asking how was the burger? The burgers were really good, their sauce was delicious and the fries were good too. So for a new spot adventure this was an ok experience. We went on a Saturday for lunch, on Sunday before heading back home my daughter wanted a burger and fries for the trip home, so we gave it another try. I ordered her the same burger, small fries, & a soft drink oh and for the drive I ordered their chips. As I was getting on the highway I ask to have a taste of the chips and the car was silent. My daughter asked what chips because there are no chips in the bag.

Wanted a good burger and heard this place was it for smash burgers. Has a drive thru and small outdoor area with tables to eat at. We wanted to use the drive thru but the line was long in both directions and turning left in has you kind of in the way of traffic. So we parked across the street and went up to the window. Service at the window seemed to run a little quicker than the drive thru line. The burger itself was filling, tasty, and juicy and the sweet potato tots were crispy and flavorful. Will definitely be back again when in the area to try the yummy looking shakes.

At the time of me writing this review there is no other Mexican restaurant that gives you as much food for the same price. We love Huey Magoo's so much! The chicken tenders are always so fresh and crispy…read more I typically prefer bone-in chicken except when it comes to the tenders here. The fact that they use dark meat (chicken thighs) to make the tenders gives them a unique taste that I prefer to any other chicken place that I've tried. I love the selection of sauces here as well BUT you do have to pay for additional sauces so there's that. Their fries are perfectly seasoned and the toast isn't too salty. I like the wrap as well. I honestly have nothing bad to say about the food or service (the employees are always nice). My biggest pain point is parking. It's by the university so of course parking is terrible and hard to find. It's the only thing that keeps us from eating here at least once a week.

I went with a friend to get dinner one weeknight, well before their closing hours, but as we were ordering, the staff was starting to clean the tables inside and stack the chairs. By the time we got our orders, we got the sense we were being shuffled out the door, so we took our food back home to eat. Huey's offers tenders and tender bites, chicken sandwiches and wraps, and salads. The chicken strips in the meal I ordered were on the thin side but fairly crispy. The crinkle cut fries were average but soggy by the time we got home. The Texas toast could have had more butter/seasoning on it, because it tasted like just a piece of grilled bread. Overall, I was expecting a bit more but I'm not sure I'll go back to give it another chance.

The food hall is fairly new and not all the stations are completely set up. That being said, they still had a great variety of things to choose from. Ranging from pizza, to tacos. to asian, to smoothies, they have something for just about anyones tastes! The hall itself is spacious and very clean. It has an industrial feel to it with dining hall sort of vibes. There are some really cute UF accents and decorations included as well. It wasn't too busy when we came, but they did have a DJ doing music. There were also several people enjoying the bar located in the center of the hall. The portions are decent sizes. Some of the stations portions are bigger than others. Which is nice because it allows you to sample and explore multiple things. I ended up starting at the Mexican station. They offered freshly prepared, customizable tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc. I opted for a single taco, so I could try some of the other things offered. The tortillas are griddled with cheese in them, then topped with either chicken or shredded beef. You can choose from a nice selection of toppings including pico de galo, more cheese, lime juice, and an array of sauces. The taco had great flavor, but the cheese caused it to become "soggy" and fall apart. This made it particularly challenging to eat the taco. I then ventured onto the pizza station. They served focaccia styled square pizza with a thicker airy crust. It is almost reminiscent of a Sicilian styled pizza, but a little lighter. I opted for the pepperoni with hot honey added for an extra charge. The pizza was amazing! Served hot and fresh right out of the oven. The cupped pepperonis were heavenly and amply spread throughout the pizza. There was the perfect amount of hot honey to compliment to heat of the pepperonis. The cheese to sauce ratio was nice and the crust was chewy. It the perfect size for a personal pie or could easily be shared with a friend. I really enjoyed the pizza and liked the square style of it. Overall, I enjoyed the Gainesville Food Hall. They offer a nice variety of cuisines. It is family friendly and a great spot to grab a bite and hang out with friends. The space is clean and has an inviting feel about it. I really appreciate the idea of a food hall and think it is a great addition to Gainesville. Will be returning at some point in the future and cannot wait to try more!
