Our hot dog came with a bunch of onions and sauerkraut, and I think it may have made the bun a little too soft. This place is a gem! There was hardly a wait on a Saturday at 12. We got the Chicago dock and dick on a stick. The dick on a stick is essentially a corn dog, but very worth the $5. Highly recommend asking for sauce on the side. The Chicago dog was $14, which is quite steep and didn't come with drinks or fries, so it's hard to justify getting that again. It was good though. The average dick comes with what every hotdog should come with: mustard relish and onion. That's it! 5 bucks and a couple minutes later, you got yourself a yummy hot dog. I love a good hot dog but don't buy them as often as I'd like. Dick's Dog is a treat and I recommend you guys check them out. Naked fries: 3 stars. Their secret dick rub is a sweet and savory seasoning for their fries. I could see how the seasoning would balance out the saltiness of the dog, but in my opinion, I prefer my fries just plain old salty. I inquired about them with the friendly employee and was told they're available. We also tried the Chicago dog. Everything was well portioned, fresh, hot, and yummy. The wait was a bit long on a busy Saturday afternoon but I can see why this is a popular food truck. First let me say I have had every Dick possible. When I lived in Idyllwild, this was my favorite spot for a quick and inexpensive bite. Both my boys would always ask me to pop over and pick them up some of their lovingly created menu items. The staff was always friendly and happy to serve the food any way that we ordered it, making it extremely easy as a parent to get quality items for even the pickiest kids. The truck is bright, very clean, and let's you enjoy the beauty of Idyllwild when eating it outdoors. Vegan Dick is always better ! My wife and I met Amy at the gift shop she and her husband Richard own right beside their hot dog stand. I just happened to mention that we were plant-based/vegan otherwise we would have tried their dogs! Amy said.. "oh, we HAVE vegan dogs- absolutely!" After a fun conversation where she explained how Dick's Dogs came about (a story worth discovering! ), we assured her we would be back to try them the next day! And... back we went.. Amy remembered us immediately and welcomed us with a smile and genuine gratitude. I ordered the Alpine on Amy's recomendation and my wife ordered the Chicago. We also grabbed a side of fries as well. The Alpine was a Beyond Brat with onions, peppers, sauerkraut, and mustard on a pretzel bun! DEEElicious! The Chicago- Beyond Brat with pickle spears, chicago style relish, onions, sport peppers, yellow mustard and celery salt on a poppy seed bun. The fries were absolutely delicious as well and served with home made ketchup and a spicy homemade ketchup as well! Absolutely delicious !!
