The lime truck came to work for an event and I gotta say, I was pretty dang satisfied! Frank, Anthony, Araceli were at the helm of the truck and in the kitchen and they were great. There were patient, friendly, and got all of us our orders as soon as they could(There were quite a few of us...close to 50 ppl). It was a work event, so I don't know what they charge for the items (We were just allowed to order from the menu), but just from a taste-perspective, it was pretty darn good. I had the steak taco (sweet, tender, perfectly balanced) with fluffy eggs and this dreamy chipotle sauce that made every bite sing. I also tried the grilled chicken and eggs taco, and even the vegetarian mushroom option had everyone swooning. Everything tasted so fresh, from the warm tortillas to the bright, zesty salsas. We hired The Lime Truck for our company event and contracted them for 2 hours. The food was decent was but the service was poor and slow (wait time was 30 minutes to 1 hour). They were rude to our employees. They felt like they were treated as if they were asking for free food. We paid over $55 per head for unlimited food (that was part of the contract), and they closed down before 2 hours and claimed they ran out of food. WHT? If you are looking for a food truck to cater your event, go with IN-N-OUT or The Habit; they are much better choices than this company. read more

This was a company event and was extremely disappointed that food took so long to come out. This taco truck is really specific to your taste buds. The best thing on the menu (see pictures) was the quesadilla. We ordered the steak quesadilla as opposed to the chicken because both were the same price. The steak was delicious and it was on the sweeter side, but I personally didn't think that it complimented my quesadilla well. Inside the quesadilla you'll also find bell peppers which were a great touch. I think if I had to order from the lime truck again, I'd try the chicken quesadilla. The truck is on the pricier side, but most are. The nachos are $5 but they're just really simple. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I would strongly caution anyone considering The Lime Truck for an important event. We paid approximately $3,000 to have The Lime Truck cater a private party. Just two hours before the event was scheduled to begin, we received a text message stating that the truck had been involved in a serious accident and would not be able to make it. While we understand that accidents happen, what is unacceptable is how the situation was handled. We were given almost no time to make alternative arrangements and were forced to spend additional money at the last minute to feed our guests. Anyone who has planned a large event knows how stressful and expensive that can be. We were told our payment would be fully refunded, yet we have still not received our refund. We have also received no offer to help offset the additional food costs we incurred because of their cancellation. What has been most disappointing is the customer service. Instead of empathy, accountability, or a genuine effort to make things right, our communications with Ethan were dismissive and unprofessional. When a company fails to deliver a service that customers have paid thousands of dollars for, especially at the last minute, the least customers should expect is respectful communication and prompt resolution. The true test of a business is how it handles a crisis. In our case, The Lime Truck left us scrambling to save our event, out additional money, and still waiting for the refund we were promised. Based on our experience, I would not trust this company with any event where reliability matters. read more

We were excited to try The Lime Truck and happy they had a presence, parked in the food truck village at the recent Tequila festival we attended. Of the three trucks that comprised the "village" The Lime Truck was the only one that had a vegetarian option. Sometimes as vegetarians you need to scope out food options in advance just to make sure you won't starve at an event and we were excited to see they had 2 vegetarian tacos on their menu...a potato taco, and their "Trippy Mushroom." Unfortunately, after arriving they were only offering the potato taco (plus their meat offerings.) and the menu seemed a bit more limited than what is displayed on their website. That's okay, we're fans of tortillas and potatoes, so we plugged ahead and each got 2 potato tacos. They were okay. We liked that they used full little round potatoes in the taco...that was a unique take. The accompanying veg in it, onions, jalapeno and a little more gave it a nice bite. But both my wife and I felt it was a bit sparse and could have used a little more in terms of filling, and/or some kind of cream or sauce on it to round it out. So we didn't starve or dislike what we ate...but it didn't live up to the exciting vegetarian option we thought we might get from an award-winning food truck. The folks making the food were awfully nice and the prep was quick. We wish they'd had their full menu available so we could have tried the Trippy Mushroom. read more

Our company hired this truck to serve tacos during a special event taking place. They arrived late, food was served late, and was slow to come out. Initially I was impressed with their customer service when I requested a few boxes before they served others that had not been able to get any during the lunchtime service earlier in the day (they provided catering to both day and night shift) and they complied, I delivered the food to the team members who were thankful. The truck didn't have enough food to serve everyone and ran out. Toward the end of the service, one of our directors requested that they give him some extra boxes of tacos to provide food to team members stuck inside the building working who could not make it out to stand in line.. some of these people had been working for over 15 hours with little to no breaks for the event we had. He was met with an attitude and back talk, when I attempted to clarify after he gave up, I was berated by the female worker with tattoos (I think one was the simpsons). If I recall correctly she called me or us "entitled MF'rs" and when I didn't react and instead exhaled and rubbed my neck was told "ya rub your neck MF'r". She continued to talk trash and swear at me and the other employees. This is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Since they ran out of food after begrudgingly conceding to our request, some of the other management staff and I gave up our food to others who had not received any yet. It is not our fault that one, you were late, two, you did not bring enough food, or three, that instead of being a pro and treating your customers with respect, you berate them in front of a crowd of employees. Everyone was in disbelief at the behavior and I would not be surprised if you see other reviews like this. From what I did eat, the food was decent. Not the worst but definitely not the best tacos I ever had. Quite possible that the treatment from the staff impacted that significantly. After reading some of the other reviews posted.. I am not at all surprised by how this went. Very disappointing end to a very long and busy day. read more

I was at an event tonight at Excel Audio in Newport Beach and the owner hired this truck. It was the start of the show. Everyone was raving about how polite the staff was and how delicious the food was. I got the fish tacos and the girl that serve me could not have been sweeter. It was by the best fish taco I had had in a while. Food trucks are becoming a little hit and miss these days, but the truck was absolutely spotless, the food could not have been better, and the girls working genuinely seemed happy to be there .
