When I made the appointment with this company, I explained that my air-conditioning is working fine but that it is making a humming sound downstairs and that I wanted addressed. The company even acknowledge that my AC was working fine because they pushed back my appointment one day for people that did not have any AC working, which was fine. When the technician came out, he did acknowledge the sound yet he did not check the refrigerant levels, which would be the first thing he should check. The only thing he did was open up the AC to check where the sound was coming from, then told me it would be "hard to find out where it's coming from." I offered the suggestion of putting rubber around the pipes to eliminate any vibration sound. He went to his car to check to see if he had any and didn't. How UNPREPARED can you be?!! I called the office the following day - they told me that the technician said my "AC is working fine and he didn't even hear a noise in the first place." No, what really happened is that he was either too LAZY to fix it since it was Friday at to 6pm, or had no idea on how to even fix it and lied in his notes back to management. Waste of TIME!!!! They responded on Saturday, Their repair man took apart the entire system and after he checked inside and out he realized that we still did not have power. He then checked my circuit breaker panel and realized that one of my circuit breakers were loose. He made sure it was all the way over. His bill was for over 500 dollars. 150 for the service call. 200 dollars for Saturday and 175 dollars for electrical work??? What's worse was was the air conditioning system still didn't work. The owner Ward called me Sunday to let me know he would only send a repairman if I was willing to pay another 300 dollars for a part that his repair guy noted could be a problem plus another service call fee. Incredible A top notch Electrican came because the part his repairman said it probably was I could not buy in Home Depot or True Value. He required this piece to fix my unit (it is only there for the air conditioner company to shut the system from outside) Not needed My Electrican retired and could not fix it. He got a friend of his who knew air conditioning. It turns out that a wire inside the unit was disconnected. How did that happen? My wife has called BAM three times with no answer. Do not use them. You know the summers here in South are brutal…read more. arriving home to house with NO AC is not something you ever want.. but tack on the fact I was about to have surgery and would be return home to a house with NO AC, with the humidity and heat index at 110.. I was in tears thinking about my recovery. I called Steven at Seaside... he is an angle! Although they were fully booked for that day of service.. he said not to worry, he would call me after his last appointment and come up and see what was wrong. After working all day, Steven showed up at my door and saved the day! He was able to determine what wrong, explained everything and contacted his supplier for parts, they had them in stock, Steven made a special trip to pick them up (since I needed my unit fixed the next day due to my surgery the parts would not arrive in time if they were shipped) Steven scheduled me for the NEXT DAY, ensuring I would have AC after my surgery! Steven arrived the next morning parts in hand, he fixed my unit and serviced it. Seaside goes above and beyond 'service and repair'. I spoke with Steven about my future plans of moving, he shared his expert opinion with me on what to look for as well as offered to inspect the AC unit at any property that I am going to purchase to make sure the unit is good as well cost for replacement and repair. Extremely disappointed with Seaside Air Services. I called them because of a clogged AC drain and a…read moreleaking pan. My AC was cooling my home perfectly fine before they arrived. After their technician worked on my system, my AC is now no longer cooling, and I am sitting in a hot house in the middle of a hot Florida summer with three kids. During the visit, the technician also raised concerns about my refrigerant, told me my system was much older than I had previously been told, and the diagnosis seemed to change after I purchased their warranty program--from condensation to a supposed hole in the coil and a recommendation that the system essentially needed to be replaced. I cannot prove what happened, but the timing is extremely concerning. I called Seaside to fix a drain and a leak--not to end up with an AC that no longer cools. I will not be paying Seaside to come back and repair a problem that I did not have before their technician worked on my system. I am getting an independent second opinion and strongly recommend that other homeowners do the same before allowing this company to perform additional work. Very disappointing experience.
