I came into this establishment on January 26th around 6:30 pm. The teen at the counter was rude and not very helpful. I said, "Can I get home made ranch on it?" I placed an order for a catering tray of sliced brisket. The service was fantastic, it was hot and ready to go at the time agreed on. The brisket was delicious. Sliced perfect. It was so tender with just enough fat to make it heavenly. Everyone at the party was truly impressed. We love Dickeys and eat there frequently. I truly appreciate their quality and service. Don't bother. Seriously. Don't. Ordered ribs, a combo plate, and wings. The ribs were below average and barely smoked. No one should ever sell ribs that aren't at least finished on the grill or under the broiler so the sauce and ribs have that little bit of char. The combo plate was fine. That's it. Fine. Wings were again fine. Nothing special. The only reason they earned 2 start was the sides had more flavor than the ribs. Baked potato stuff was decent. Mac a cheese was about as good as Veleeta. I was a little confused, in the area and looking for food, it pointed me to a gas station. I was like, ok, let's try. I had the giant baked potato with a mound of chicken chunks on top. It came with all the trimmings and was very nicely done. Butter, shredded cheese, chives and sour cream. The only thing I should had asked for was a little BBQ sauce for the chicken. It was well seasoned but I'm a sauce fan. I would get that again in a minute. Trying to be a little healthy and got some green beans which I regretted. Do not bother. An old friend and I had plans to meet at the children's a garden with our kids. We decided to grab some lunch first. Elwood doesn't seem to have many restaurants, but I ran across this one and was like how about bbq? So we went for it. I arrived a few mins early and was surprised to see it in a gas station! At first I thought maybe I'm in the wrong place, but nope. It was good. I opted for a beef brisket sandwich meal with a side of fried okra. I also ordered 2 cookies one for each of the kids. It was like $20 with tip. A little pricey for what it was in my opinion, but it was very delicious. I'm glad we decided on it. Luckily there's also tacos available next door as the toddlers decided they didn't want bbq so they had steak tacos. The spicy bbq sauce is SPICY, but oh so good. I couldn't get enough of it. This Dickey's is Located on Centerpoint way in the Elwood / Joliet area. Despite map directions being inaccurate, The barbecue was excellent. Highly recommend the jalapeño cheese-infused sausage. Ribs were tasty and they gave me a GENEROUS portion of baked beans. Near closing, we were offered green beans and mashed potatoes. The sauce is excellent and what makes Dickey's so good! Excellent! Pulled pork fries and fried okra. Meat is prepared in view. Fries and okra were cooked to order and perfectly seasoned. Pork is great.
