We were greeted with a smile by Ashley, our awesome server, who welcomed us and brought drink menus. Midtown Wine Bar is located downtown Manhattan, Illinois, which is a small, quaint town. I've wanted to stop here for a glass of wine since it opened in December of 2019. The bar offers an assortment of cocktails including, mimosas, margaritas, martinis, and mojitos, as well as red wines (Pinot Noir, Malbec, red blends and Cabernets), white wines (Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc) and BBC an assortment of domestic, import and premium beers such as Busch Apple, Modelo, Goose Island and Twisted Tea. The bar has a neighborhood feel which is one of the reasons I love the Chicago area. I feel relaxed and am enjoying the experience. Will be back.

She said of course. I sat back down, and not 2 minutes pass and Rick came to our table and said he is going to change the oil in one of the deep fryers and make a fresh batch for my wife, so there is no type of cross-contamination. We even had to ask other servers and busser if they could track her down for us. The icing on the cake was that they ran out of water cups and so now 6 of us are drinking out of the water pitcher that they left at the table. When we asked if we could have more cups we were told that they were out of them, yet drinks continued to be made at the bar (in cups). We would have even taken paper cups instead of drinking from the same water pitcher. It was just an overall disappointing experience for it to be my first time. The only positives were the women and gentleman in the front greeting and seating and the young men who brought the food out to the table and cleared the table. I really want to change my rating for just the food and certain individuals but I just cannot get around 6 different peoples lips on the same water pitcher and nor form of compensation for the inconvenience (not looking for money off but at least a complimentary bottle of water or something). But because of the service and lack of awareness of your customers all sharing a single water pitcher and not even checking in to see if we needed anything or if we were even enjoying the food is just unacceptable.

Emancipation is a brewery not a lot of people have heard of because it's not close to anything of course. Has a surprising amount of variety on tap and in cans to go. They may not have a whole lot but everything is full of flavor and quenches one's thirst. Even with it being a smaller brewery it still has quite a lot. It's got several of their own beers on tap along with a few others. There's also more cans in a refrigerator. Has the basics along with a few interesting ones. More than just the IPAs and the usual. It's about $7 a pint. The Farmer's Favorite is the IPA and is a pretty good medium one that's crisp and smooth. Has a few things to snack on here. It's about $3 for the Krack Mix. Basically like Chex Mix but it's made locally. They also will let you bring in stuff. Great place that's pretty hard to find the first time going here. It's located on N. 2500 East Rd. a few miles north of Fairbury surrounded by corn fields pretty much. They're closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
