I'm not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews - I'm a big fan!! I've come a couple of times and have been most excited about their sides - definitely always ordering fried okra (super yummy, even after the 30 minute drive home), and I was more into the baked potato casserole than the baked beans (very liquidy). I love the turkey, chicken breast (both weren't dry at all!) and the pork ribs. The sliced brisket was also yummy but I'd definitely order the other three meats again. I love the spicy bbq sauce - adds a real kick! I tried the cornbread and Texas toast and both were yummy, but the Texas toast seems a lot bigger! Honestly, I've never paid full price here, so the portion sizes don't really bother me. I also joined their rewards program and already scored 800 points and enough for a 2 choice plate, and got other great deals emailed to me, like buy a large soda ($4) and get a free pulled pork sandwich (stuffed with meat and with added onions and pickles), buy $30 gift card, get a bonus $10 card. I was in Kapolei so decided to drop by. I was a little hesitant due to a lot of bad reviews here but I enjoyed today's order. I got the two meat plate with beef brisket and pulled pork and got fried ocra, French fries and paid a little more for a cornbread instead of a dinner roll. The beef brisket was seasoned well and very moist. The pulled pork was what it is, pulled pork. I think I'll get something different next time because I'm used to kalua pig which is local. The fried ocra was yummy. My French fries tasted burnt which was my only complaint. I would return for their beef brisket and fried ocra. read more

I ordered through Uber eats on Friday, Sept 6 at around 7p. My order was priority but I didn't receive til about an hour later. The driver told me that the workers were playing around, they told driver it'll be a 10 minute wait but turned into 35 mins. What initially got me annoyed was that I received a gallon of lemonade with no lid on & just a plastic wrap over it! This is unsanitary to me and I don't know what could've gotten inside while being handled, but then I talked with the manager & he said that their empty gallons didn't have any lids. I was also missing my side of Mac & cheese. I won't be ordering any food from this place ever again! So disappointing! Also, after consuming the food, my family & I had an upset stomach. Maybe the workers aren't washing their hands properly. Whatever it is, I HIGHLY WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS BBQ PLACE! I wish I could give this place zero stars! Waste of my money! read more

Stopped here for dinner while visiting Hawaii as the website looked promising! The second we walked in the door the look on the staff's face should've been our warning to leave, they did not look happy we were there and we got there 3 hours before closing. We tried to ordering three of the Giant Loaded Baker (loaded baked potato) and were told they only had one left. How do you only have one baked potato left for the night when you close in three more hours? We continued to order food and when my wife's Giant Loaded Baker arrived, it was cold! We were crushed, we had high hopes as the food looked great on the website however it was just all down hill once we got there. Maybe this is a "one time" occurrence or maybe this is normal however we will not be dining there again anytime soon or recommended it. read more

Food was so good; The camera didn't get to eat first! My boyfriend and I decided to try out Dickey's yesterday, it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the 2 meat combo with brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, mac & cheese, and fried okra. The fried okra was honestly the best! It is my first time trying it, and I really enjoyed it. I also had a slice of their pecan pie. As far as the atmosphere, everything was very clean, the staff was extremely welcoming. As we were eating, the owner walked up and introduced himself. I stopped coming here because the last time I came (about a year ago) the food sucked and they ran out of a lot of the sides. Heard there was a new owner, so thought I'd give it a try. I am so happy I did. The food is sooo delicious!! I got the ribs and pulled pork and it was excellent. I normally do not order ribs and pulled pork because most places it's greasy, dry and too smoky for me. This one was very tasty and not greasy at all. The bbq sauce was good too not overpowering where you can't taste the meat. I also got a large okra and beans. The amount of okra they gave me is way more than they previously gave and it was hot, crunchy and not too salty. The beans were perfect, not too sweet or salty like other places I've tried. The place is clean and well kept. Before the floor by the soda machine was sticky and the tables were sticky too. The people are very friendly and helpful. They have an expanded menu (more than before) but not everything was available, didn't have country fried steak :( but they just opened so it's understandable. I'm happy and satisfied with what I got. Next time I'll try the brisket and if it's like what I got today, I won't be disappointed. I live in Mililani so it was a drive. However it was so worth it. I'm a combat veteran and have eaten some pretty bad food during my tours, and for this to be an American establishment, I am extremely disappointed. I got the 3 choice plate yesterday, sliced brisket, pork ribs, and kielbasa. The brisket was gray, dry, and flavorless, akin to a bad roast beef. This is what you receive when you order fries from Dickey's. Not even half full. We had two and the other was a just a little bit more. Not to mention the brisket was 80% fat. All fries are oily, but their fries are extra oily & soggy "fresh" out of the fryer. Pulled pork was delicious, though. Not to mention the staff tossing around a sleeve of bread. The "cook" asked someone to get him the bread from the fridge, she went it, got it and tossed it to him. Then he tossed it back. And she tossed it back. I love BBQ! and loved this place when they first opened. Not so much anymore. The past few times I came here, the service was pretty terrible for take-out. If you request for the drive up take-out, they will not go to your car, they will stare at you from inside of the restaurant and laugh at you. 2 stars because the sides are pretty good, but the meats seem dry and they serve a much smaller amount. I also ordered a gallon of sweetened iced tea, and because they didn't have the gallon size container, they gave it all to me in cups! a gallon worth of iced tea in cups, with no cup holder either. read more

Food is junk and customer service is subpar. We were ono for bbq (not local kine) so we stopped in for the first time. Pork ribs tasted like pork sausage, was dry and little bit tough. Brisket was ok but needed plenty sauce on top. Mac and cheese tasted premade kine and was dry like was sitting out. Fried okra was ono but was definitely tasting like premade frozen. For some reason I thought they had sweet tea. I was disappointed. Maybe I came on an off day (weekend around noon) but this place isn't one I would recommend. read more

The husband was craving some Texas style bbq and this was the only place nearby that could fit the bill. Although Dickey's has been around for a long time, this was our first time getting food there. We ordered the pulled pork plate and the brisket plate, along with barbecued beans, potato salad, cabbage slaw and Mac and cheese for the sides and also tried both the roll and cornbread. Don't expect Texas-size plates. The portion sizes are decent- we had a bit more of the pulled pork left over after we each had our fill. I thought both the meats were a touch too salty for my liking. The original bbq sauce was alright; average in terms of flavor. I thought the cornbread muffin was on the drier/crumbly side. The other side dishes were pretty good; I'm not a fan of mayonnaise so I enjoyed both the slaw and potato salad. The establishment was very nice and clean inside. The workers were also very nice, approachable, and respectful. However, the food was alright the brisket was more on the tougher side but it was flavored very well. Also their mac & cheese is similar to velveeta but didn't really have any cheese flavor and their baked potato casserole was alright nothing special could use some more seasoning. But the jalapeño and cheddar kielbasa was very good it had a nice snap and very flavorful. Was missing Texas a lot and decided I wanted bbq. Dragged the coworkers here for lunch as it's the closest place with bbq to the office... Ordered the two meat combo with brisket and sliced polish sausage, corn bread, mac n cheese, and the baked potato casserole. Food arrived and my sausage was wrong. They gave me the jalapeño sausage which would normally not be a issue, but I'm allergic. Brought it to their attention, the girl behind the counter said her bad she put the wrong one and it was quickly addressed. Awesome! Brisket was okay. Not like anything from Texas. Makes me miss Rudy's. The sausage was good. The sides were decent. Nothing had a homemade taste to it. The cornbread existed. Oversell the service was good! Issues addressed quickly and taken care of. The food wasn't bad, but not what I was looking for. Prices are in line with everywhere else in Hawai'i, so it's affordable. If you've never had real bbq you'd think it was great. Will probably be back in the future when the bbq cravings are too much to ignore. read more

Ordered 1/2 lb brisket chopped but received sliced. Meat was tender and tasty but extremely oily. I'd suggest you dump the meat on a bunch of paper towels to soak up some of the oil. I also had the coleslaw. Taste almost similar to KFC except the cabbage was not chopped up a fine and a little on the soggy side so I don't think it was fresh. Today's 2nd visit in 10 years to Dickey's was disappointing. I'm sure I'm showing my age and my expectation about service and cleanliness are probably unrealistic .. BUT .. it was terrible. 1) Young staff - We were greeted when we walked in but that was the end of the customer service. There was no help with ordering, no suggestions offered.. just blank faces. It might as well have been self service. 2) The food LOOKED enticing. When we tasted it, it was barely lukewarm. The okra tasted slimy, the brisket tasted like there was a layer of grease like it was sitting for a while and the Mac and cheese tasted old and it was cold and hard. 3) The tables were sticky, the soda/ice machine was filthy. The brisket was cooked nicely it just had no taste to it ! The pulled pork was way too salty, as if they spilled a whole shaker on to it. Seriously! So bad! The drinks are a complete rip off. Only two people dining in Friday around 630 PM on 6-28. Out of fries No unsweet tea Beer wall out of service Marketing displays peeling off the wall Not sure when drink area was last cleaned 4 staff and they can't resolve issues or keep a restaurant in clean working order. Brisket has no flavor and greasy with a lot of fat for being sliced. Pulled pork very salty but the sausage seemed good. It's apparent this place is not managed properly and needs some work. We love BBQ and would like to go back but we are not seeing that in our future right now. read more
