Food: I have not been to Dickey's for quite some time but decided to try it again today for lunch and went through the drive through due to time crunch. Big mistake and will not go again. Brisket was dried out, roll was dry and old, the green beans were not cooked fully, and the mash potato casserole had already gone bad - took a bit and immediately threw it out. Very disappointing and I'm not sure how the place is still open.... especially with all these bad reviews, should have read them first before going! read more

Came here (after we were in town to play basketball) to eat before we drive 3 hours home. Open sign lit up. Friday night at 7:30. We all 6 go in to eat and are told that the lobby is closed. Huh? Straws, lids, ect: nothing was stocked (most were empty) , two nice drink machines with ice piled so high I couldn't get cup in and product was low - dispensing more bubbles than soda. Staff: disappointing is nice comment. Interior: from seating area, floors, to restrooms are...nasty! Ambience: poor - smells like a locker room, not a restaurant. We have tried every BBQ place in town. This one and True Texas BBQ is the best (sorry, had to mention this one as well)! :) The meat at Dickey's is lean and they will put items on the side. This may be typical, but I ask each time because I don't want onions. All the meat we have tried here is so good. They have never gotten our order wrong... and they are quick. I ordered the Monday Managers Special, the Westerner sandwich, a single side and drink. Chopped beef and spicy hot links were the meats with onion and pickle. Service was wick, meat on the sandwich was generous and good. The bin was fresh and warm too. The bacon and opinion green beans were very good and served hot! I'll come back! read more

This restaurant is a joke. I've been to several thinking that they've got to at least be decent. My final visit, ever to any Dickey's was on 191 in Odessa. Ordered burnt ends and fatty brisket with Ceasar Salad and green beans. Burnt ends= brisket bark and fat, thinly sliced like brisket Fatty Brisket = dry, tough Ceasar Salad= brown and black lettuce Green beans = good. I would be stressing if I were an Owner.. This restaurant, each time I have been, left me laughing about how terrible it is. I'd expect this in somewhere like North Dakota, but Texas? Please... just an utter joke. read more

We were wanting some delicious Texas BBQ and since we've had decent pulled pork sandwiches from Dickies we decided to stop at the 191 location and get a to go order. We ordered one meal as a 2 meat with sausage & ribs, loaded baked potato and fried okra. The second meal was 1 meat brisket, loaded baked potato (they were out of potato salad) and baked beans. We also ordered 2 cherry cobbler. These two meals cost a whopping $37! The price would have been fine if our meals were substantial and delicious but that was not the case. All the meats were so dry! The brisket was almost jerky! The sausage was so dry it was inedible. The ribs were tough and under cooked! And the sides all came in 3 bite containers except the okra. It was a decent portion and tasty. The loaded baked potato was 3 bites of dry mashed potato with a tiny bit of cheese melted on top. The baked beans tasted like pork & beans from a can. The cobbler was good, but, again, 3 bites. Oh, and each meal came with a hockey puck biscuit? Some kind of bread that was pretty much inedible. Also BBQ sauce, a couple of slices of onion and a few hamburger slice pickles. Two stars because the okra and cobbler were good. Will not get robbed by this crappy BBQ again! read more

They act like they are doing their part as long as you are wearing a mask. They absolutely will not serve you without a mask, yet restaurant surfaces are greasy, they don't limit their seating, and above all they are extremely rude. For their information their signage is incorrect stating that per the governers order masks are required. They are incorrect as the governers order states that where masks and social distancing is not feasible masks are required. Their wall of greasy plexiglass negates the need for a mask. read more

We went to Dickey's today and it was very good. But the a**hole that takes your order was rude as hell to his workers and not very nice to the customers either. He needs to work in the back by himself. The girl that does the sides was sweet, so was the cashier, and the lady tending tables really earned her money today and was always smiling. I went to pick up dinner, ordered 70.00 worth of barbecue-requested that I be sure and get barbecue sauce. Got all the way home and guess what - no sauce. He apologized and then went above and beyond; he had somebody DELIVER the missing food to our house, along with a brownie. I decided to give this place a try one day and my first time was a disappointment.Im slightly disgruntled about BBQ prices these days. I ordered the plate of that allowed me to try the most amount of meats. I payed twenty dollars and left hungry. The thing i did enjoy the most was their sausage. I visited this place on Sunday and ordered the 3 meat plate, the honey ham, sliced brisket and hot links were juicy and well cooked. I enjoy Dickeys for the quality of BBQ and variety of sides they offer, I got the mac and cheese and also the waffle fries both which tasted very good. The place is pricey and they are cheap with the portion of meat they give you but the food is great, sweet tea is perfectly sweetened, and they also offer free ice cream. To some it up it's a great BBQ pick me up! read more

Went they drive thru on 191. Got burnt ends sandwich that had lots of fat and gristle, okra had fried ends that couldn't eat, beans taste like out of can. There are several places in town to get more for your money and better bbq. I had the monday special which was a sandwich with two meats.. I had chicken only, small bag of chips and a drink.. special was for $5.50 chips were another $2.00!! and the drink $2.30.. So what appeared to be a good value of $5.50 was a $10 and some change.. Went here today for my birthday lunch. No waiting in line. Service was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered a 2 meat plate with brisket and sausage and my sides were fried okra and onion tanglers. They cooked them right in front of me while I waited. The food was terrific. I know people gripe that it's not authentic bbq, but it's the best we've got in Odessa and this place does a great job. The atmosphere was perfect and there was hardly an empty seat (and this was well after the normal lunch run). Portion size was big and there were plenty of stations for sauce and drinks.
