I have to say, something has gone downhill since reopening day at this location. When the trainer from corporate was there on re-opeing day the food was great. I just spent $51; they give very few sauces for multiple meats that they overcooked and dried out completely (1 lb Brisket, Half rack of pork ribs, and 1/2 lb pulled pork). The pork ribs were so overcooked; the bones broke as I pulled the meat off so you just tasted overcooked morrow from the bones. I will not be returning to this place any longer, so few bbq options but driving further north from BG to Toledo (Shorty's BBQ) may be the only way to go right now. read more

First time visit. While waiting for the 2 ladies to finish the customer in front of us order, we could hear the one employee talking about that customer to her co-worker. When it was our turn, I gave her my order: 6 ribs and 6 wings. I then started to tell her my sides but the complainer lady yells "you order those down here " . So I go down and tell her my side and that I would like a piece of pecan pie. My husband ordered beans and the potato casserole. She went in the cooler and came out with an empty basket, complaining that no one ever stocks anything and she does not have what she needs. We considered walking out of the door at this point because it was obvious she hated what she was doing and wanted everyone to feel as miserable as she was. She scooped up the beans which were more like soup, complained about how she hates to be on the register, then asked me again if I would like anything else, which I told her pecan pie. She walked away again, this time to the back, comes back and starts asking the other person what we got so she could ring everything up. She seemed to have a problem remembering what to ring up, finally she finished, I paid and left 20% because that is what I do. When we got out to the car, I wanted to go through the bag . No pie, no potato casserole, and I was given the 9 piece rib instead of the 6 I ordered. We took our food home to eat. Just to be clear, we were not charged for the things we did not get. Ribs were really meaty, but very dry. Wings had a weird taste to them almost like cornmeal. Coleslaw was good, the husband's pulled pork sammy was good. I ordered through UberEats and was super excited to see that I was nearby this place as I use to eat at Dickey's happily when I lived in Nebraska. It was genuinely one of my favorite places to eat at so when I saw it here in Ohio I knew I had to get it. Unfortunately, that was an awful decision. The delivery driver was very kind to me and informed me that the restaurant ran out of Mac & Cheese and French Fries so we would just get a refund through the app. I was disheartened to hear they were out but I understood and moved along in getting my refund through Uber. I made my own French fries and Mac & Cheese (defeating the purpose of getting delivery but I love eating bbq with Mac & Cheese especially) and as I took a bite into the ribs it was shocked to hear a crunch. I decided to try and separate the meat and bones by hand and the BONES WERE MUSHY?! The meat was dry and hard but the bones were mushy?! First & last time ordering food from here. The pulled pork was dry and not shredded at all there were huge chunks of meat. The brisket texture was just okay. We ordered brisket burnt ends and got sliced brisket when we called back about our order the person on the phone said they ran out of burnt ends and gave brisket instead because it basically the same thing. How about you inform your customer you are out of a menu item? They also forgot a few other items we ordered. The mac n cheese tasted like bland box kraft, the barbecue baked beans tasted like canned pork n beans with no barbecue flavor at all. The roll was hard and the 6 french fries they gave us were cold. The only thing that was decent were the ribs. All in all we were very disappointed in the food we received, other than the ribs everything was bland and cold! Went today on recommendation. When you tell the customers you are not happy with how the brisket came out and it won't slice , just sheds , it's overdone ! The proper procedure would have been not to serve it , instead of serving dry inedible meat . Same goes for the ribs , hard and inedible . The marinated chicken breast was the Star tho , melt in your mouth tender, the reason for a second star . The place is new , I am sure they are finding their footing , I may wait till it's more established and stick to Deets before trying again . UPDATE : it's been 5 days since my visit . They also advertise that you can bring the cup back for $1 fillups on future visits, and their ice cream machine is free. When I call they tell me they were out of Mac and cheese and barbecue chicken so that's why we didn't get them but was still charged. I asked for a refund on these items and was told the owner was the only one that could do that and would call at his earliest convenience. Still haven't heard from him and don't expect I ever will or at least not until I call him. On top of all that the food sucked it was cold and dry. I've tried this place numerous times before the pandemic and during and it just continues to disappoint. First off it's so unbelievably disorganized. If you order ahead there's no noted place where to pick up meals, they're usually not ready or they're not bagged up to go. The check out process is slow and the employees are not friendly. The food is decent but inconsistent. Many times the entrées are dry or the sides are not hot. On at least two occasions I was charged more than what was listed on the menu, and was told it's because the menu board hasn't been updated "by corporate." Both times I demanded to be charged what the menu said and the price was adjusted. I also was charged tax on a carry out order with no drink, there's no sales tax on carry out food in Ohio. This last time was however the final visit. The man working the counter had his mask down around his chin and I watched him touch his face three times in the two minutes I was standing waiting for him to finish the customer ahead of me. I asked him to please put his mask on and wash his hands which he did not seem very happy about. I've given this place numerous chances, I'm done. read more

Big chunks of black burnt something in place of pork. We threw away two thirds of the food. Horrible food - we'll never go back and make sure that everyone we know stays away too. Interesting that when management asked me for info on my receipt - date, server, etc. and said that they would look into it and get back to me after more than two months I've still heard nothing. Extremely dry brisket! Ribs are flavorful, firm and slightly chewy, in BBQ competitions firm is the proper texture but not chewy. I prefer fall off the bone personally so I wouldn't order again. Not Rudy's of Brownsville or San Antonio, but probably the closest we've got. Had the three meat plate, smoke is a bit lite, meats are all tender and flavorful. Sauces are good as well, preferred the sweet which is odd for me, usually don't. Had sides of Mac & cheese and creamy spinach, both good, though Mac & cheese was a bit ordinary, should have been smoked while baking. Spinach made with Asiago cheese nice touch works well but could use a little something, maybe bacon. Corn bread is sweet but not overly. All in all, very good, not Rudy's but very good. Like others I made the mistake of ordering again from Dickey's, the first time I ordered I wanted to order wings but there had been a fire and they weren't serving them, so I ordered the Brisket only had 1/2 lb left and it was well before close but they were new and busy, so ordered the chicken too, the brisket was underwhelming and dry. The chicken was ok. A few months later we're discussing dinner and decide to give it another chance. I placed the order online and got a call a few minutes later, they only have 20 wings left, and they wanted to sub 30 boneless, not what I wanted but ok, they are 10 dollars cheaper than traditional I asked if they could sub in another 10 pieces (8.99) put on hold for 5 minutes while the employee had to check and see if it was ok, got approval and headed out to pick up the order. got home and opened the boxes. What a shock 23 dollars for family-size hand-cut fries (literally about the same amount as 2 or 3 large fries from Mcdonald's. and they were soggy. The brisket was dry again, and lemon pepper boneless wings tasted like citric acid and were way too salty! asked for Carolina bbq for the brisket, but there was none. The sweet bbq boneless wings were under sauced but they were meaty, we added some sweet baby rays sauce and they were edible. I really want to like this restaurant because I love bbq and don't always have time to prepare and it's so so close, but this is ridiculous. This place is great for lunch or dinner! First off, the staff here has always been friendly and suggests what's good. There is usually a $9.99 daily special and I opt for that. The BBQ includes juicy ribs but I like the BRISKET! The side choices I like are the baked beans with BRISKET and potato salad. The corn bread is good but small portion. There's hot varieties of sauce at the self serve bar. The decor is inviting and comfortable. I used to eat Dickey's all the time when I was traveling for work so I was glad to see that there is now one in the Toledo area. This is a pretty new place, only open a few months. My family and I had a great experience. First, I have to talk about the great service. All three people were super friendly, and made some great suggestions to save some money by ordering differently. The food was amazing! I had the three meat platter with ribs, pulled pork and the kielbasa. All was cooked well and had great flavor. They have three sauces, a sweet BBQ, the original and spicy BBQ. I always try all the sauces and they didn't disappoint. I like the original the best. The ribs were meaty and flavorful. The pulled pork was really, really good. I liked the kielbasa as well. Pleasantly surprised that they had waffle fries and onion straws as sides too (they weren't listed on the online menu). About the only thing I wasn't super impressed with was the corn muffin. It was flavorful but crumbly and broke up really easily. I love cornbread but I think I'll do the dinner roll next time. My wife got a brisket taco and enjoyed that as well. My 7-year-old daughter got the 5-rib platter and was happy too! The free ice cream was a nice bonus. I liked the flavor of that - almost a French vanilla. The barbecue is really good!! The meats were done nicely but the Mac and cheese isn't anything crazy amazing. I know it's the first week of it being open but it took absolutely a while to even be helped. They should develop a faster system where you order and pay and then sit and wait so that you're helped. You have to talk to the person carving the meat to order and I noticed they have to ask you again what you're getting and it's not organized that way. But the food was good.
