When I get inside, it is packed, and guy working the register can't seem to get it to work so I just decided to pay. I ordered ribs, they're out! I ordered chicken... Out of that too. I ended up getting a sandwich. I would've never ordered Pryor, but I am glad I did. You can tell they were out of a lot of meats, because the baked beans I got were pretty much a bunch of beans, floating and barbecue sauce and not even very many beans at all The mac & cheese was decent, but nothing to write home about. I had to add a decent amount of salt and pepper. But waiting in line for 20 minutes for quick order food just to find out almost all of it was gone is a bit ridiculous It's pretty unorganized and chaotic The condiment station look like it has been ransacked, so I ended up for going any pickles or onions due to fear of some weird foodborne illness The whole experience is just a bit lacking. When you arrive you will order at the counter. The staff was friendly and super helpful. After ordering you can grab a seat in the dining area. There is plenty of seating for small and large groups. There's a place to get your drink and grab some sauce from a variety of options. Our food came out quickly and portions were of good size. The Nashville hot chicken was dusted with some seasoning. It was not hot and quite frankly i couldn't taste the seasoning. The size was good and the chicken tasted good after I added some sauce. The nachos were delicious and full of flavor. The baked beans were solid as was the mac n cheese. And I had to get the hush puppies and they didn't disappoint. read more

I ate a City BBQ in the Cleveland area with the food being pretty good but the service poor. I had a Brisket Sandwich, Mac and cheese and corn bread. UPDATE As can be seen the business apologized as they did in the review of the Avon Location, and asked me to provide feedback via their website, but I cant copy the link and when I tried to navigate from the main site to get to the feedback section struggled to get to it through the menus. I thought about it and in the end my feedback is here. If they want it they can enter it or just discuss it during customer feedback meetings. Not to be cynical, Some companies have a policy to always respond with a message as some data suggests it tempera the negative feedback. Some messages are case by case and varies in content and others are canned. Not saying thats the case here but the messages were the same/similar so maybe canned. ORIGINAL REVIEW At this location I ordered the same and also had fries. The sandwich was OK but corn bread was overcooked/not fresh and the fries were so so. The service was average, not friendly, not unfriendly. Considering the price you would expect more. This is supposed to be more premium than traditional fast food but the price is allot higher and the taste is just OK with mediocre service. First time coming to City Barbeque I must say I was disappointed. The greens and eat were way to salty. You can tell the used the same seasoning for everything. Couldn't eat the greens had to switch to Mac & cheese it wasnt hot. Don't let the location fool you. With so many great restaurants nearby, like Tougen, Tiger Bakery and Poco Piatti, you might assume City BBQ is guilty by association. But don't, because it is not. It's just guilty of being mediocre, and that's being kind. A recent meal offered brisket so dry I had a difficult time swallowing it, sausage that was surprisingly flavorless without a hint of fire thrown it's way, collard greens undercooked and umbelieveably salty, and pulled pork that was just plain disappointing. One star for the hush puppies that were clearly fresh and hot. Toledo isn't particularly known for it's BBQ, but luckily we have some great options if you're looking. Just do yourself a favor and just avoid this place, it's not worth your time, tastebuds or money. read more

A solid barbecue offering in the suburban Toledo area. The staff are kind of food is good. The sauces are fun to try (I always recommend the mustard style sauce) and they have like five or six different ones. The prices are kind of high, though, considering the food and this is coming from someone who lives in DC I ordered a platter of two meats, and did not get any sides with it, Having to order them separately which made my bill over $25 for a two meat platter. This is quite high in my opinion for just decent, chain quality barbecue that said, and given the options in the area this is good and their brisket is above par. We made a large takeout order so my review is for the food only, as we did not eat in the restaurant. We ordered the brisket, smoked chicken leg, smoked chicken wings, chicken strips, Texas toast, corn bread, Mac and cheese, baked beans, collard greens, salad, banana pudding and the peach cobbler. All the chicken was great, would definitely get it again. Flavor was great, not dry at all. The leg was the star. The strips were also very good, brisket was flavorful but a little dry. I'd still get it again as they offer a few different bbq sauce choices to dip in. The corn bread is better than the Texas toast but there both good. Mac and cheese was good, baked beans were great and contain brisket, collard greens were also good. Salads were normal, good amount of greens. Banana pudding is phenomenal, wish we had gotten two! Peach cobbler wasn't great, will not be getting it again. It wasn't really a traditional cobbler, it was a sweet bread that was tough and hard to eat with a little bit of peaches underneath. The food never disappoints, be it the pulled pork, smoked turkey, ribs or brisket. The collard greens taste like there's a "Big Momma" in the kitchen from down south who knows what she's doing. Green beans are well seasoned, and the corn pudding is delicious. If you love cornbread, there's is wonderfully done. It's sweet enough to remind you of cake, yet has the perfect texture and graininess of old fashioned cornbread. The chicken tenders are fabulous. This place is fast and accurate wiry to go orders.
