Really hard for me to believe I had to add this business to yelp. I mean we're an active bunch and yet this has gone unnoticed until today! Major retailer carrying sports, fitness,cardio and extreme sports equipment, a wide variety of trainers and hiking shoes for men and women. Plus Camping, Fishing and traditional hunting firearms. During my visit today I purchased 2 pairs of trainers Hoka Bondi's and Brooks Adrenaline for my daily walks grab a few tanks for around the house while shopping. Naomi helped us and was wonderful very knowledgeable of the shoes I was looking at and the ones I wanted more information on. This particular location never disappoints when it comes to quality active lifestyle gear and clothing at a reasonable price and as a member the rewards come in handy when making such purchases. read more

I have tried multiple times to purchase this item and keep running into issues with both inventory accuracy and customer service. On my first visit, I confirmed online and by phone that the item was in stock, but when I arrived it was not available. Today I tried again and was immediately told, without checking, that the store did not have it. The employee was dismissive and rude when I asked about the online listing showing stock. I then spoke with a manager who was also unhelpful and dismissive, implying I was not being truthful and saying they had never heard of this issue. I had no idea Dicks could be so fun. They have everything here. They have all brands, colors, and types of water bottles. They have so many different types of shoes, helmets, baseball bats, basketballs, clothing, swim trunks, golf clubs, and SO much more. They literally have everything sporty at this location and they've made it so modern. They have batting cages and a mini golf area set up to test golf clubs. We had so much fun just looking at everything they had within the store. They have a whole section of reasonably priced workout equipment as well & an area you can test some of it out with weights and everything. I went in with my mom and 7 month old. As babies do, she had an accident and needed a diaper change. I walked to the women's restroom, and there was no changing table. I walked back to my mom and car seat that had a blanket, laid out said blanket and changed my baby there. After a diaper/outfit change, I went to the cashier and asked for a bag for the clothes, and the cashier told me "I can't give you a merchandise bag, only a clear one" in such a rude and accusatory way. which was fine. As I walked away i tossed the diaper in a trash can near the front. I again walked back to my mother with my baby and continued shopping. The cashier then stormed up and made a massive scene, saying "you can't just leave that there" after explaining that I had initially gone to the women's room/there was no changing table, she acknowledged she knew there wasn't one and expected me to come get the diaper out of the trash, and walk it to the bathroom. I folded her when I was finished shopping I would come get it, and she demanded I go right then. We ended up leaving all the items we were planning on buying and left. As we were leaving the same cashier who made a scene, walked us out and yelled at us across the parking lot, saying we were nasty and how dare we. To say the least, I am embarrassed for this lady and her absolutely terrible customer service and people skills. Yesterday evening I came in because I'm in the market for a bike. I wanted to shop prices and see how well it fit considering my height. There wasn't anyone at the counter so I pressed the button to alert an associate. I don't know if I even got the young lady's name but she was extremely helpful, resourceful and nice. I believe she said she usually works in golf, I think I heard her say. I just want to make sure that the recognition is given to the correct associate. I have shopped at this store for many years for myself and my families sporting good needs. So for whatever reason this store supports and sells a lot of Nike stuff. Do to Nike's decidedly anti-American turn, I have made a personal decision to no longer purchase Nike products. But the reason for my 2 star review is due to the attitude and conduct of an extremely rude employee in the shoe section. I asked if they had any other basketball shoe brands other than the large stock of various Nike or the smaller stock of Adidas. He goes, "do you see any?" I was like "no, that is why I was asking." Then he says, well we don't and turns his back on me and walks away before I could ask him if I could order any, of if they were out of stock or what. (Perhaps Under Armor or New Balance or Puma?) In any case, I put the several hundred dollars worth of other merchandise back and left the store. With many other sporting good stores to choose from, I probably won't be back. Ahh Covid-19 shopping. In my weeks of experience in picking up orders and ordering online, I've found varying experiences, usually good but some bad. In this case it was the latter. Basically I was feeling stir crazy and decided to order a bike. I didn't want to put it all together myself so I noticed that dick's had a pickup option so that I could have them put together the bike and hand it to me at the front door. Easy enough, right? Or so I thought. After receiving the order update that my bike was ready for pickup, I called and asked whether or not they could remove a tire if needed for transportation. I have a large sedan, here is how the conversation went: Associate (A): "what kind of car do you have?" Me: "A Nissan Sentra" A: "Yes it should be fine but let me ask my manager" Manager (M): "Hello ma'am, you said you have a sedan?" Me: "Yes I do, will that be a problem?" M: "Not at all and if anything, we can take the wheel off, it's a quick release." Me: "Okay great I will be there within the hour" So, I pack myself and my child up and go to the store. This is where the problems started. Firstly, all associates from what I can see, are wearing masks, as is recommended. I pull up and an associate comes out with paperwork which I fill out, then brings the bike out. At this time an older gentleman with another customer walks over, I'm assuming to get the bike in the car. The associate lets me know that this is the manager. The manager gets to my window and asks if he can open the back door. Me: "You will have to get in on the other side as my child is in a car seat on that side." Manager: "Oh no we can't put a bike in this car" Me: "Pardon?" Manager: "We cannot fit a bike in this car with a child seat" Me: "I can get out, pop the tire off and it will fit just fine" Manager: *gets closer to my window, then proceeds to take his mask off to speak to me less than 2 feet away from my window* "We cannot put this bike in your car, can you come back without the child in the car?" Me: "I spoke with you over the phone and you said that the sedan would be fine" Manager: "Yes but I didn't know you had a child in the car" Me: "You didn't ask? What does a car seat have to do with the bike, I can put my passenger seat back and it would fit just fine lengthwise" Manager: "You will have to come back, I'm sorry" So they wheel my bike back into the store and at this point, I'm pretty upset, as I had just driven 40 minutes to this store to pick up the bike, and I can't just drop my 5-year-old off at home and hightail it back to the store. I decide to wait until the weekend to pick up the bike. Saturday rolls around and I show up to the store once again. I meet a different associate (we will call associate #1) and explain the issue to him. He doesn't understand, so he tries to get the manager. He comes back and says the manager is on the phone and asks me to explain what happened again because he doesn't understand why I wasn't given the bike (you and me both, dude) then he goes to retrieve the bike. As he is getting ready to load the bike into my car, another associate (we will call associate #2) runs out and yells "WE CAN'T LOAD THE BIKE, IT COULD CUT THE SEATS AND WE WILL BE LIABLE". Associate #1 stops and I get pissed, so I get out of the car and start grabbing the bike. Me: "Give me the bike, I will load it myself" Associate #1: "Uhhh okay, the front wheel has a quick release but I can do that for you" Me: "Thank you but I can do it myself" Associate #2: "Are you sure? I don't know that it will fit" *please see photos for how badly the bike "did not fit"* Holy sh*t. I've never had such a difficult time purchasing an item! Why the initial opposition to having the bike in my car with a child in it? Let's assume they are worried that if I get into an accident, some portion of the bike will hit my child. Okay, then SAY SO. But even then, on any other random non-Covid day, how are they guaranteed that every person coming in to buy something isn't driving home with a child in their car? That can't be the excuse. Maybe they are actually worried about ruining my seats, okay, cool, I don't give af, so just give me the damn bike that I paid for so that I can load it myself! Why was that not an option in the first place?! I'm so annoyed that I will probably never shop at this store again as it is run by such an incompetent individual. read more

Manager Tom, Ryan and Amayiah went above and beyond for me today 09/29/24 @ the Alliance store. I had an exchange that incorrectly processed by a previous cashier on a diff day. When I went back today, Amayiah was patient and kind and worked with me to correct the issue. She had to call her mgr Ryan in for some overrides, but he did so without question and was very understanding and patient. Made the entire process so easy and fixed the error previously made. Horrible purchasing experience! Definitely not going back there (and it's close to my home). I went to purchase an Everlast boxing stand and the guy told me "we have two in stock - let me get it for you in the back". THIRTY minutes later he comes back out and says sorry he needs a forklift to get it... Takes my name and number and says he'll call me first thing in the morning for it. OBVIOUSLY, never got a call back. So when I call them the next afternoon, they said someone took some parts out of the box and she tries to send me (with one working leg) to the other side of the city to purchase one. Not accommodating of people's time and THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE AND DONT HAVE IN STOCK. Horrible experience. Their competitors are getting a new customer! read more

This is by far the best DSG I've ever been to. I came once about a year ago when it was new, and was delighted by the size, cleanliness and professional staff. So, I stopped by again to find a birthday present for my mom, in hopes of accomplishing that difficult task of shopping for one's parent... I took a look around for awhile, just to see if there was anything I couldn't live without. While checking out the hunting and outdoorsy stuff in the back corner, I was greeted by four friendly employees within 3 minutes, as they were doing routes around the building. I didn't need anything, but knowing they were ready to answer any basic questions that I had about compound bows, was reassuring. I did find a nice end-cap for disc golf that I stopped messed around out for a minute. I was met with a nice selection of beginner discs from putters to maximum distance drivers, as well as some premium plastic discs that I would take more interest in for my inventory of veteran plastic. DFW and the mid-cities offer spectacular DG courses, if you're interested in getting into the game. It's extremely inexpensive compared to real golf, or most other sports. I've played in courses all up and down 35, and from time to time, throw a few discs in trees, water or who the hell knows elsewhere. I'm happy that I can make a quick pit stop here at this Dick's to get some good quality discs for the upcoming fall season. I was looking for a neoprene body-bar for my mom's home gym thing she has going on in her spare bedroom. Turns out Dick's doesn't carry them in-store, or online for that matter. But an awesome employee didn't hesitate to search the website for me, and chat with me while he did so. I wasn't upset that we couldn't find one, and that I left the store empty handed, because of the awesome staff at this store. They all seem to take a sense of pride in their jobs, which can be very much a challenge when working in retail. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE dicks sporting goods. If I'm not ordering a cart full of stuff online I'm in one of their stores buying stuff. They have so many locations and there's always a good variety of clothing options and shoes. They have other things such as camping essentials, good sized fishing section, bikes and kayaks/canoes. This particular location was nice but they seemed super under staffed. Getting a changing room took a bit longer then normal, a huge line to check out... Probably just Christmas break. So we go to Dick's off Heritage Trace to get a $150 baseball glove. The 3rd this year. While waiting to get our glove steamed, we find a football in a basket full of balls marked $9.99. About 15 different kinds of balls in the basket. Once at the register, they questioned the price so I directed them to the marked basket. I pointed out the price tag. And the manager was full of excuses blaming kids running the store for putting all those higher priced balls in the mark down basket. I asked him to be reasonable, that there were numerous balls in that same basket. He starts to become rude, so I said ok, and I go to take a picture of the price and the basket of balls, he gets angry and starts to tell me I cannot take a picture of him. Well, of course I can (one has no expectation of privacy in a public place). I didn't, but I could have, he just didnt like that I was taking pictures of the sign and basket. Bottom line is, they have made thousands of $'s from us over the years. They could have kept loyal customers by being reasonable but he took the low road was rude. Don't buy squat from this store. Go to Hibbits, Academy or Amazon for crying out loud. At least you get your equipment for the price it is clearly marked. read more

I went to Dicks (hee hee) for the 1st time EVER last week. My mom was looking for full athletic sleeves, however she used them for post-surgery recovery. They turned out to be perfect! The layout is nice, they a have ton of stuff for every sport imaginable (except for roller derby) and this store is pretty big. The employees were all nice but they were NOT helpful at all. I pulled up pictures on my iPhone of the athletic sleeves but had no idea where to find them. We went up to 2 different employees who should've known we were clearly lost & confused (due to the fact that we told them it was our 1st time in the store and we were lost) but they only pointed us in the general direction of the item we needed. I worked at The Home Depot for over 5 years and we were trained to walk customers to the product whenever possible, or hand them off to someone who could. The 1st guy was only stacking stuff on the shelves, yet he still pointed in the general direction instead of walking us over to the item we needed. And yes we asked "Do you work here?" and he responded "yes". My mom got frustrated with the lack of help so we just walked down each aisle in the direction we were shown until we stumbled on the arm sleeves. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. I signed up for a rewards card but I doubt that I'll visit this place often. They don't have anything for the sport I play (skates, skate wheels, trucks, bearings, tools, toe guard, toe stops, laces, etc) and the 1st impression wasn't so good. read more

Went to the golf section to just look around and Gregory Kohn, the associate, helped tremendously. He told me it was free to use the golf simulator and continued to not just help but give advice on my swing and now I can hit a 7 iron 180 yards consistently. He explained all the mechanics about a golf swing and critiqued mine until I was consistent. He did all this for free and also recommended what shaft I should use (stiff). I ended up getting two sizes up on my 6 iron and 7 iron grip to fit my hands, and adding a inch to both clubs all this for 22 dollars. read more

Dick's is *not* cheap and whenever they have a sale, everything goes quick. If you are looking to buy running shoes, I do NOT recommend Dick's or any other major sporting goods chains, here is why: the kids that work in the shoe department do not know how to fit shoes! Go to a specialty running store to get your shoes fitted. You can get some good deals at Dick's if you sign up for their loyalty program. It's easy to get a $10 off $50 coupon. Came here to pass the time while waiting for my movie to start at cinemark. This dicks is like any other dicks just a one story instead of the two story one I am used to. But it has all the usual selection of items that you would want/need. The shoe department looks fairly large and it has a large selection of clothing separated by brands. Like any dicks it's set up for whatever is seasonal at the time so it's mainly soccer items up front for World Cup and baseball items. You can tell football is around the corner because it's starting to get more football items in and even in the shoe department football cleats are coming out. The golf department isn't too bad either decent selection of clubs and accessories. Overall it's like any other dicks has a good selection of items and the prices aren't too bad though some things are a little over prices in the end it's good spot to go to to get your sporting items read more

Not having a good experience with Dick's Sporting Goods at Alliance Town Center in North Fort Worth. Ordered my son a squat rack from Dick's for Christmas. It was delivered missing many parts. Called Dick's to see what can be about it. The answer is pretty much nothing. Spoke to an assistant manager, she told me "we've had a lot of complaints about Pro Line equipment missing parts" and that they no longer carry the squat rack . She said my only options were to: A. Call the manufacture and see if the would send the missing parts (which will take 10 to 14 days). B. Load the rack up and bring it back for a refund (which will require me to take vacation hours off from work). I don't understand why they would sell a Pro Line product and charge you for shipping to have it delivered when they know they have problems with it. Hopefully Academy Sports will have a complete set to save my kids Christmas read more
