Father's Day Dinner at Dick's Last Resort is something you truly have to see to believe. Hahaha Three families converged in Daytona for one epic meal and a full night of laughs and we were not disappointed. The best portion was the wait staff, they are intentionally acerbic and if you're faint of heart this probably isn't the place for you. But, if you can take a joke and enjoy dishing out a little sass in return you'll fit right in here. Dick's is spacious, full of games to play if you want, a bar and live music set up, and a pretty damned good view of the beach. The food was mostly good, the chicken wings were found to be a bit tough but still okay. The steak was well seasoned, and the fish bites were really tasty! I doubt the claims of the alcoholic content of the giant bowl drinks, having been forced to finish off not just mine alone but also my sister-in-law's giant margarita, and was more than capable of navigating the stairs and walk back to the hotel without difficulty, but they are tasty regardless. We had an issue where the restaurant was out of chicken and so they'd substituted steak for the chicken in the Alfredo and the chicken Caesar salad but still charged us the $9 up charge for something we had no control over, however the general manager was kind enough to reach out and resolve it all for us before we even left town the next day. We went here during my birthday vacation in Florida, and this restaurant was such a fun experience! The whole vibe was exactly what you'd expect from Dick's Last Resort -- loud, silly, and full of attitude. Our server definitely understood the assignment and nailed it -- rude, loud, and hilarious in all the right ways! The food itself was okay -- not mind-blowing, but still good. For our appetizer, we ordered this huge sampler platter that came with fried pickles, chicken strips, bone-in wings, mozzarella sticks, and all the dipping sauces. It was a lot of fun to share. I also tried one of their giant souvenir drinks where you can mix different alcoholic options -- I got the punch one. It was decent, and I loved that you get to keep the cup! For my main dish, I ordered seafood -- and honestly, it was so good I completely forgot to take a picture! That says something. Everything was cooked well and tasted fresh. Overall, this place is more about the experience -- funny staff, playful chaos, and a memorable time. This restaurant was a horrible experience. I understand their atmosphere is focused on funny sarcastic waitresses but does that also mean you have to wait 15 minutes just to get a couple drinks. The food was poorly prepared and VERY expensive with single patty burger and fries $20 and bbq pork sandwich for same price. Then they charge you $25 for a 23 oz beer that comes in a souvenir glass and charge another $25 for a second beer in another glass you have to buy. Then when you ask for a check they wad up a small piece of paper and throw it on the table. $85 for this "entertainment" is unacceptable. We ended up here with a group of teenage volleyball players in town for a tournament. At that point, you would expect some level of discretion or awareness, but there was none. It's funny because, my husband and I had no idea what this place was about. We just wanted something to eat. Little did we know we were in for a surprise hahahaha! I ended up realizing where we were after being seated. My take in the food is that it's just OK, I'm not too sure what they're known for food wise. The service was actually really great. The banter between the servers and bartenders was so fun and silly. I will have to admit, my husband and I were not prepared for it, given we didn't know what we walked into hahaha. Awful experience. Sarcasm was funny at first and I could deal with that if the service and food were good but both were poor at best. I'm the least picky eater on the planet and I ate half my meal and stopped. Oh and my side was cold canned corn and I asked for a fork and my waitress just walked off. My husband finally had to go get one for me. My overpriced drink was watered down, I intended to get another but wasn't going to pay for a watered down drink. We were in a hurry to get to an event so asked for our check and our server took 10 minutes walking around doing nothing and when we asked again she wadded up our bill and threw it at us. This place was one of the highlights of our trip! Neither me or my husband knew what the heck Dick's was when we went in, we just wanted to eat something and it looked decent. They sat us down and explained what the restaurant was about and gave us the menu. It was really loud. At first I thought it might be better to leave but my husband suggested we stay and I'm so glad we did! The whole thing was a great experience and the staff was a lot of fun. I love the idea of this restaurant but it wasn't giving the experience I imagined. Upon arrival we were the only ones in the restaurant and it made sense because the food is overpriced and gives microwaved dinner quality. I ordered the baby back ribs and they were full of fat with hardly any meat. The pasta was dry & the steak was overcooked and lacked seasoning. As for the waiter he wasn't very rude, he just forced us to buy cocktails which is fine but I found everyone pretty pleasant. We received the hats at the end which is fine but I wish it was presented more towards the beginning and not when we are signing our bill. The restaurant has a nice location and I would be back maybe earlier in the day for cocktails to see if the vibes are different. read more

Went here for the first time June 16 2024 It's very loud here and has an unusual ball busting atmosphere but it's all in fun though....if you don't like loud you won't like it here.... I had a beer and a half dozen of wings (6) and the bill came out to $31.00 which in my opinion is ridiculous.
