Last night I came here for my 2nd time. My dad is a hunter, so I wanted him to be able to get an Elk burger. I had called and they'd warned that they might be out and that their next featured meat would be Dork (duck and pork). That wouldn't do, but we'd go in and risk them having some elk left. This review is more about experience than it is about quality of food. I ordered online for a pickup. I was running 10 minutes behind and walked into Dicks and up to the spot where you pick up take-out (there is even a sign that says "take out" right above where I was standing). I must have had a deer in headlights look on my face and the cook looked at me and said "what" and i said "what?", "I am here for a pick up" and I pointed to the sign above me. So, my wife and I went in, she ordered the salmon burger and sweet potato fries.she stated they were excellent! I got glutened by this place. It is supposed to have lots of gluten free options, which it does. But the kitchen got my order wrong -- I'm celiac so it makes me sick for two weeks! Second I saw someone come in from the back who worked in the kitchen come in the back door with his mask down around his chin, which he pulled up quickly, maybe just when he saw me, I'm not sure. I was getting fries, and as she was doing so, some fell out of the container onto her shirt, but she caught them there between her shirt and the container. THEN she used her fingers to try to push the ones on her shirt back into the container! Firstly, I'm not sure why I was asked if "medium rare" was ok when I placed my order when ultimately I would just be given a chewy, dry, over cooked piece of cardboard. Secondly, at $8.25 for a patty, dressing and bun - the patty should definitely be as thick as the bottom bun. I love that the beef is grass-fed and humanely raised, I do, but what's the point when it amounts to little more than a bun that tastes like a hint of meat? I love the burger salad, which makes me feel like I'm eating vegetables and generally have made a healthy decision, even if there's a full size burger patty taking up residence. Unfortunately I did not review Yelp page beforehand (mistake #1) and only saw on Google that the average reviews were high and went with that (mistake #2). Unfortunately, my burger was overcooked and rather bland. The cheese wasn't fully melted. I'm surprised other reviews had suggested their burger was anything less than well done, and that there were options that was no more than medium, because mine was nothing less than well done. The fries were another disappointment - they were soggy, super oily and greasy, and the garlic aioli was super runny.
