This is a stunning burger. I have come here an embarrassing amount of times since moving back to Portland. The first time I came alone, just a little hungry and a lot broke. So I got the $6 little pleasure burger. A simple, single patty smash burger. It's everything a McDonald's burger wishes it could be - beefy and drippy, a squishy, slightly sweet bun, oozing hot grease without being heavy, lacy and crisp edges, and held together with the right amount of American cheese. It was the perfect amount for that day. Then I returned with my date. Twice. And he brought his coworkers for lunch because he liked it so much. I have had the western and the mushroom burger since, as well as the parm and chive waffle fries. They have nuggets and I'm inclined to believe they're great. The staff is great, it's a small team and they're all there every single day. They care about their product and your experience. The space is a simple counter, not good for large groups. It should be noted that even though their burgers would be great with a beer, they don't seem to have a liquor license! So don't expect an IPA with that shroom burger. Maybe someday! read more

After a long day of walking in the sun, my group and I needed something salty but not too filling. We decided on this place and we ate it so fast, it must've been a record. Within my group the reviews come in at a total of 8.5/10. the smashed burgers were good, just lacked that oomph. Similar to in-and-out burgers but their smash sauce is not as good as the in-and-out burger sauce. ( Sometimes the condiments really bring it all together) The fries were crispy and soft in the inside, but I wouldn't recommend the parm ones. It was just too much goin on, overpowered the actual fry. The workers were kind and asked us how we liked it as we were leaving ( which is sweet to me). Needed a quick bite before a comedy show downtown. A 'hole in the wall', not much seating, but they definitely make it work. Pretty decent food too. While prices are decent for downtown, it does add up quick. Everything is al la cart. We did the bbq bacon burger, pb burger, parm chicken nuggets, and parm fries. Everything was really good. Good service too - cool to see them being able to make our food. Near pioneer square; parking can be difficult, but max is just a couple blocks away. read more

Great burger joint tried the peanut butter, pickled bacon, burger, and thought that was a great tasting burger and and their version of killer burgers of course but I think that burger's been around before those places but who would know I don't... Lol. Anyways, the other burgers were great too, and the staff was really nice and the fries with the Parmesan on it delicious. I highly recommend coming here and trying some of the food out. The prices weren't outrageous (though not cheap). This place is legit. The original can go toe to toe with most smash burgers in the city, if not all. The peanut butter, bacon? Pickle is a knock off of killer burgers. It wasn't done as well but it was close. The fries had a lot to be desired. The aioli not aioli-ey enough for me. Overall all very good. I always get their Mushroom & Swiss Burger but they were out of mushrooms on 1/2/26, following the holiday closure, so I ordered their Western BBQ Bacon burger, with onion rings, jalapeños, and BBQ sauce. We swung in on a lark and I'm so glad that we did. This place has a stellar burger and the staff's care shown through. My husband got the peanut butter bacon burger and said it was a 10/10 smash burger to the point that he didn't even realize that there was no cheese on it and he feels like a burger without cheese is a sin against humanity. Popped in because it was close to my hotel for an easy lunch on my last day in town. I have been underwhelmed by smash burgers in the past, and then I found places that really lean into the smash concept, and you do have to really smash the burger to get the benefits, otherwise it is just a thin patty, Thankfully, these guys lean in to the concept. I thought I had seem that they had beer, which is unfortunately not the case, so no boozy suds if you eat in. Past that, the burger is really good, as are the fries. I waited outside almost ten minutes for Pleasure Burger to open. The crew inside saw me and said they were not open yet. When I walked in at noon, they said they would not be ready for another 20 minutes! It would have been great if they told me they weren't going to open on time. But it's pretty wild to me that they were so behind on opening. There were two other parties who were turned away at the same time. Hard to see how this business can survive getting the basics wrong. Sad to say, I was a bit disappointed. The smash, while nice and thin with lacey edges, had absolutely no crispness, char, or bark to it. The toppings were kinda sloppy, but did come together to make a good flavor, but just not that texture and that taste of smashed beef that really draws me to this style. The waffle fries were pretty good and I might come back here just for those. My partner and I came in to pleasure burger around 7pm on Sunday night. The music playing in there was very loud which didn't bug me personally but it was noticeable since the lovely person taking our order couldn't hear us a couple of times. We both got the classic pleasure burger (mine without cheese), and I had ordered a side of large regular waffle fries. Food came out relatively quick, and it was genuinely the BEST burger I've ever had I think, my partner also said the same thing. The fries that were brought out were the Parmesan fries which I can't eat because of the dairy. I asked another staff member if I could get the regular fries and explained I couldn't eat the parm fries that were served, the staff member profusely apologized and got me a fresh order of the regular fries which were also very tasty! My partner said she enjoyed the parm fries and the dipping sauce that came with it. Overall the place is a bit loud but the vibes are good and the customer service is also really good.
