The customer service here is terrible. I had a soccer issued coupon, where dick's is a sponsor to them. It was not expired. And there was not even an expiration date on the coupon. FRUSTRATED.... Ordered a Stanley 40 oz handled cup for my daughter. She has been asking for one and I was able to find the color she wanted at this location to save on shipping as it's already quite expensive. My daughters been home with the flu so today was the last day to pick it up and I did the curbside pick up. The young man walks it out to my car holding it up proudly with a smile as it's clearly visible giving away any surprise for my daughter's Christmas gift. I see her start smiling and I immediately cover her eyes and roll the window down as that is where I put to place it. I wish that the store had the common sense to place the item in a bag considering it is Christmas time. The surprise is ruined and I am a frustrated momma considering $50 is a lot for a cup and a gift let alone now there she knows all about it. read more

Started out as a Super Bowl gag gift. We had a condo association Super Bowl event and one of our regulars is a died in the wool Packer's fan. Thought it funny since he is from Chicago and I would have guessed Bears fan. In any case, he was about the Patriot, under inflated footballs etc. Came the time of the Super Bowl, we presented him with an under inflated football. Thanks to Dick's in helping us with the gag. This is the worst Dick's Sporting Good that I have ever visited. First, according to on line shopping they had a particular putter in stock that I wanted. I drove 35 miles and no putter, so obviously no one keeps track of a accurate inventory. Then, no one around, no one to help in the golf department. People were rambling round, going in and out of the demo room with clubs and kids playing with putters. If there is a store manager, he needs to get his crap together, this was as bad as it gets. read more

Beware! A bunch of immature kids working there. I went there to return and exchange some items that I paid for online but were already in store. I made the mistake of leaving my bag at the counter. I quickly tried on a couple things and came back only to find she just returned them all. I ask why ? she said it was new procedure and told me the money was already back in my account. I said no that's not the case. She said " did you say something", " are you alright". I had spent close to $900 and this is how I am treated. My financial institution said at least 3 days. She did this because it was less work for her. But this was all funny to them. I guess they don't care about making a profit. She tricked a newer employee into doing it. So I entered this Dick's Sporting Goods with a teeny bit of enthusiastic anticipation. I used to shop at the store in Rochester, NY when I was a teenager and loved getting umbros and other athletic clothing from it. Living in San Francisco for most of my adult life, I wasn't able to shop at Dick's for a while (there are a bunch of stores in Southern Cali but none in Northern), so when I drove past the store in Huntersville, I had to turn around and go inside. As soon as you walk in, the woman's section is almost right at the entrance (LOVE that!). They still sell umbro shorts. There's also a wide selection of sports bras, tees, work out pants, hats, swimwear and gear, etc. I forgot that Dick's sells camping equipment and was impressed to see the whole camp section, which is extensive. In the back of the store there are a ton of sneakers to choose from by brand name. The store is pretty big and is a bit overwhelming but if you feel lost and unsure of where to find things, it's not busy or chaotic so you can take your time to navigate. There are also a good number of associates on the floor, so that's nice. read more

I will never shop at any Dick's Sporting Goods again. I was trying on running shirts and accidentally spilled coffee on one of them. Instead of returning it as scrap, I was made to pay/ for it. Of course spilling the coffee on it was fault, and I have no problem owning up to that. However, I am a triathlete, and my husband and son are runners and I spent thousands of dollars a year there on kit for our sports. So to get petty over a $60 shirt when I actually had over $500 worth of merchandise in hand to purchase that day seemed very short-sighted. Especially since I could have just left it in the dressing room with no one knowing who had damaged the shirt. The manager would not even come out to speak to me about it - he just told the clerk that I was to pay for it and would not face me. read more

My fiancé recently wanted to try some golf clubs out, and another worker was so great! He let him use the putting range and was so friendly and funny. I've been to plenty of Dick's Sporting Goods locations, most of which are located in malls. Most of the time you can say "you've seen one, you've seen them all" when referring to corporate retail stores, but this location in Birkdale is a bit different. We ambled on in on a Saturday afternoon to see what they had on clearance. The store was pretty quiet which made browsing a bit easier. I will say that not having the spaciousness of the mall really sets them back a bit, in terms of selection of goods. They have a smaller selection of goods then most other locations have. I checked out "The Lodge" and their firearms and archery selection is pitiful. Dicks is always a bit overpriced, and this location is no different. Based on the prices and limited selection, I wouldn't return. If I really needed something from Dicks I would head on down to the location at the Northlake Mall instead. read more

As I live out of state, I wanted to get my grandson a baseball glove and some baseballs as he was starting t -ball On 4/30/18 I went to Dick's Website, found the store near their home [Huntersville NC] and placed an order. Below is order of 4 e mails I received within 20 minutes: 6:58:" Product Cancelled" 1 Baseball Glove [ I Confirmed store availability when ordered] 6:58:"Ready When you Are" 5 baseballs [I ordered 12 and was confirmed they were in store ] 7:04:"Order Cancelled" 7 baseballs 7:04: " Thank you for Picking Up your Order" ORDER WAS NEVER PICKED UP! I called customer service in both Ohio and Arizona and asked for someone to contact me as I was very concerned how my order could be picked up and I was assured security was in place to prevent this was in place. As you can guess no response from Dick's and I called Customer Service again today [If I could give them all 5 stars for listening I would] I asked Customer Service to call the store mgr. and I waited for the response. "You order is here and waiting to be picked up" Still no answer on why I received an e mail that it was picked up. I was told by Customer Service that if not picked up in 4 day's I would get charge refunded. I appreciated their help but this is not acceptable and I do not trust that this will happen. Bottom Line: Customer Service begins and ends at the store when you purchase your merchandise. My grandson did not get his glove on time, and I have to wait to see if my charges will be taken off. After 10 mins of walking around and shopping and then the employee working in the golf section asked us "hey can you guys do me a favor" and then me and my friends responded "yeah?" To which he responded "get out" in a rude tone. We respectfully said "yeah sure" we walked away and then went to the basketball section to play basketball and then an employee approached us while we were dribbling a basketball and said "can I help you?" And we just said "no we're just dribbling testing them out" and then the man said "ok put the balls up" once again in a rude tone. Yeaterday I was shopping at this Dick's location, when I purchased a pair of running shoes on sale. There were two price stickers and the sign said the discount was on the lowest marked price. At the register the cashier argued with me over the price while a line formed. I asked for a manager and he was rude as well. I cannot believe I was caused such humiliation over $12.50. Came in for christmas gifts for the family and while we were being rung up the worker Dominic rang up a water that wasn't ours and we proceeded to say that it wasn't, He then ignored it and right when we paid he took the water bottle, opened it up and started drinking it!! Very disappointed with the experience at this location. Test drove many different drivers on the simulator and specifically asked the associate if the simulator would show if I was slicing my shot, he replied it would and that I was hitting my shots straight, later taking it to the range I was slicing every shot contrary to what the associate had told me and later after one day and ten shots on the range they refused to issue a refund, incredibly frustrating do not trust everything the "experts" tell you. Very clear that they are just trying to push products. Dealt with a very sleazy sales associate at this location. read more

A female worker approached me and said "just so you know... we are closed." Let me remind you that it's not even 7:00 yet which is the time they closed. If I could give this experience 0 stars I would. I walked in with a pair of grey sweat pants to exchange, I then went to the counter first to see if I could get store credit without a receipt because they were a gift. The man at the register was very kind " yes you can just carry them with you and then come back to any register to exchange them". I said thank you and moved on to look for the right size and color. While trying on some others I had my friend to go look for a different size and style. She came back and was waiting for me to open the door. An older man came up and proceeded to say "this is a place of business, no playing around". That is not all, as we were walking out still with our same pants we walked in with, the same man in a very aggressive tone asked "Are you forgetting something?" we both said no and he said "those sweat pants, do you have the receipt?" Shop here frequently and we've never been overly impressed with the customer service but today was the worst! I was in the store with my son to purchase some athletic shoes and we were standing on opposite sides of the shoe dept (I was in women's and he was in men's) a salesman approached me and asked if I needed help and I said "well, we are on the other end" and he says to me "thats not what the question was, do you need help or not?" and he said something else under his breath that I didn't quite catch but I was floored. I went back in the store a while later to try on a pair of shoes and they were down to one sales person in that dept. and I couldn't even get waited on. And my husband wanted to try on a pair of pants and the man took him to the fitting room and told him it was occupied with people waiting but to "have at it!" This man who was standing near us overheard and walked by and said "how's that for customer service!" It's the weekend before school starts and they weren't even close to having enough help.
