Nice place to browse or shop. What l love the most is everyone was extremely helpful and very pleasant. I knew what l wanted and l did not have to walk around looking for what l wanted. I needed a swimming cap and found just what l needed with ease. When l got to the swimming cap area , there was someone there to explain the difference of the material types and hair lengths for my hair. I was very pleased and highly recommend this location. I purchased a bicycle here in April 2021 and received stellar service in helping me to select the correct size and style for my needs. We've purchased several pairs of running shoes, camping equipment, athletic wear, golf clubs, football cleats, weights, and always had a pleasant experience and attentive service. I was sad when Sport's Authority closed down because it was my go-to place when it came to my MMA training and bodybuilding stuff. Getting healthy is a journey more so than a destination right? Thankfully, it was replaced by three great sports stores. The one closest to where Sport's Authority used to be is Dick's Sporting Goods and to me, it is probably the one with the most options. Dick's Sporting Goods is one of the major stores located in Melbourne Square Mall. It is on the southside right next to LA Fitness. You will notice the dark green colors used probably as a means to look similar to Bass Pro Shop or Outdoor World. Anyways, upon entering the flood setup is clothes in the middle, specialty items around the outside which includes hunting, all sports, fitness, and shoes. Clothes are divided up into four quadrants with the south half being men's clothing and the north half being women's clothes. East half for young people, west half for adults. The staff was nice, the store was clean, and everything I needed on a general basis is there. Some issues I do have with Dick's Sporting Goods include the constant push to open one of their credit cards. Want to be in debt, use a stupid credit card instead of saving money. Also, the prices can be ridiculous on certain things. I will save and buy it because I need it, like the huge fence thermos by Under Armour, but it is till too much money. Probably paying for the name right? Ultimately, I really like this place and if you don't mind your wallet being a bit light after purchases, it is good place to shop. Whatever you do, don't open a credit card. I don't care who you are or what business you represent, I do not support credit cards whatsoever. read more

At first, I thought it would be a bad review from the experience. They were unable to locate the item number for return. I had to scurry through my email to try to find it. I did. They gave a coupon good for the next 3 hours. And I finally bought the punching bag I've been eyeing. They think they made extra money, but personally I was planning on buying it at a higher price. So difficult! Bought a kayak there and it was defective. There was a big dent in it. I removed the dent but it kept popping back. Finally I gave up and tried to exchange it. They didn't have another one in store or in any nearby stores. They said they wouldn't have any others in until next year so they gave me my money back. Sounds ok except for the fact that I now have NO kayak yet TONS of kayaking gear which totals out to a couple hundred dollars that I cannot get my money back for and cannot use! They have the kayak on their website but it costs more therefore they will not exchange it. Considering all the money I spent on this, that they lose when they refund the purchase, you would think it wouldn't be a big deal to override the difference and save the sale. Even if I wanted to spend the extra money to get the same exact kayak I couldn't because the refund is still being processed. My family trip this weekend is cancelled. When I bought the kayak I got it for a great price, customer service was friendly and helpful yet their problem solving services are not so accommodating. Giving me a refund for the kayak did little to solve my problem. I am left with no replacement and I am still out hundreds of dollars for the paddles, seats, life jackets, waterproof bags, and car rack. Next time I plan on making a large purchase I will not take the risk of shopping at Dick's. read more

I Never have been more disgusted by a public restroom in my entire life...I was born and raised in this town. I've been to local concerts and events that I have used temporary restrooms that have been cleaner after a long weekend. There is absolutely no excuse for a major company to employ people that allow their standards to be in such an unsanitary state. I kindly told the first employee that I saw (after having to interrupt the conversation he was having with his buddy) about the situation... he told me, " yeah..people keep saying that " goodbye Dicks.. I will go elsewhere and so will the last 50 years that my family has lived in this town . I didn't have a zero star to choose... lucky I had to pick one!!! read more

This place is GREAT! I love the variety in this store. Plus, they have great sales and even nicer people. If you have a credit card (like my dad does), you get extra savings and accumulate points towards more discounts. Whenever I shop here, I feel like the Discount Queen of Melbourne. I am forced to give only one star because there is no way to give less than that! this is without a doubt the WORST stringing service I have ever used. they told me it would take 48 hrs. and I ended up waiting five days. manager refunded my money and gave me a free string job for next visit, however I won't go back since the stringer failed to follow ANY of my instructions. asked for a two piece job, got a one. didn't use the proper tension on the crosses, and now the string moves on all my strokes due to the fact that the jackass who did the job made THIRTEEN misweaves. take my advice and seek out a USRSA certified stringer, Dicks is like walmart and starbucks, corporate greed at its worst. read more

They also sell everything you need for any sport or activity you do. They have tons of quality gear at decent prices. Inventory not kept stocked and poor customer service by management. Went to get GoPro accessory (only about 3 items in stock - not 3 types but 3 items period), Yeti tumbler (not in stock), and some sandals. They did have the sandals, so I went to check out. For years they have accepted expired coupons but now apparently 2 mos. ago they decided they don't. The store manager (Allison) would not OK the cashier to accept the $10 off $50 coupon. I thought it absurd that rather than accept the coupon they would lose my business. Also, for years, I have said the bathrooms here are disgusting. Not sure how they can get so bad compared to other retail stores. Anyway, I chose to leave and purchase at Academy Sports, especially since I still needed the other 2 items. They have better pricing, accept competitor coupons (even expired), and have awesome customer service. I had been going there but gave Dick's another chance since I was nearby. Don't make the same mistake. Update: Academy had all 3 items in stock. Sandals were priced 10% lower than Dick's and the checkout process was smooth and friendly as they gladly accepted the Dick's old coupons. read more

I used to work at the Melbourne Square Mall location and truly found the experience to be an awesome place to work. The customers were always satisfied after helping them regardless of getting extremely busy at times. The deals get customers in but the experienced and friendly customer service encourages people to keep coming back. In fact there are a lot of people that ask to be helped by store employees that previously helped them. The management was always and still extremely considerate and genuinely nice even after you no longer work there. I found it to be a a retail extended family that didn't judge anyone on their race, creed, religion, physical appearance or occurring life issues. I resigned with notice and moved on to different opportunities but still find this place a great starting point, stepping stone or opportunity to advance further within the company. Thanks to managers Heath, Matt, Mike and now Loss and Prevention District manager Brian Palmer for making my employee experience great. I would've left long ago if you guys weren't cool. I still shop here and it's an amazing place to shop if you appreciate friendly customer service regardless of busy times. Furthermore, I wasn't paid to make this comment. Lol read more
