I really like the store. Cheap, they are not, but they do have a great selection of guns and a fairly knowledgeable staff. I've purchased a few pistols from them and never had any problems. They offer a lot of "perks" for club members. The only real complaint is the QRG system for checking out with a purchase. My advice is to go there on Monday mornings. read more

BASS Pro Shops is BASS Pro Shops. Like all the other ones. We moved from Cali so we have our fair share there. We were most please with Troy's service in the fishing section. The tip of my hubs fishing reel broke off recently during a trip. He said he might be able to cut it and "repair" it for him. We purchased the kit and Troy did his magic. My hubs is definitely pleased. Seems to be a lot of employees walking around but none seem to be engaging with the customers. I walked around the apparel section many times. Saw employees. They were talking amongst each other. But no one to say hello or asked if i needed anything. Ended up finding my own sizes and going to ask for price checks on my own. A few clothing items were misplaces even though that SAME selectin was all on one arm with the sign displaying, but the cashier wouldnt honor it even though I showed her the picture. I wasn't going to fuss with her, I ended up not purchasing it. Do better! This location we may not frequent but might try another location and hope to have better service and luck. read more

Purchased a firearm online on the 4th of May. I received an email indicating it was ready to pick on the 7th. When i got there the stated it was going to ready until the 9th because of the 3 day waiting period and they showed i had ordered on the 5th. I showed them the confirmation email i received showing the order number and order date of the 4th but they said they couldn't correct it. The last couple of visits to this store, while in area for family, show a change in employee care and client service. The firearm area specifically when to a QRG code for checking in for help and they fail to deviate when limited clients. It appears more for tracking and later solicitation purposes versus true care. Today we waited 20 minutes for help. Two clients prior to us, and 4 employees back there. Oh and the visiting manager whom was more inclined to scream check in with our QRG code versus acting like a leader and perhaps saying hi or interceding if truly busy. There was no feeling of value and chain store seems to need to fall back to better and consistent training to value the business and its client base. read more

If you're active duty military looking to buy a gun avoid this place like the plague. They do not do the ATF Form 4473 correctly when it comes to military. GO TO ACADEMY! They know what they are doing and had me out of the store within 30 minutes firearm in hand. Nick the manager there for firearms is actually a terrible person. They provide no help and do not care for the customers. There was one good guy that actually explained that military is different when completing the ATF Form yet the "team lead" and Nick the manager said "I don't feel comfortable doing it that way" when its literally the law!! The amount of shear disrespect and auguring with a already paid customer is a joke. I went to academy and they instantly knew how to help and fill out the form releasing the firearm within 30 minutes. Avoid bass pro... They are a joke. We walk into their gun and ammo department to look at what they have, and the employees completely acted like we were not there while acknowledging every white costumer there. Really cool place to shop if you are going camping, fishing or hiking. The prices are reasonable. Everything you need foe the great outdoors, this is the place to go. Actually, l have no outdoor activities planned, but my little neighbor next door strongly encouraged me to go. Inside they have a huge aquarium with some really beautiful fish. Outside there are pigs, live big pigs. On the other side of the entrance, are where the alligators live. Big ones, little ones and a few in between. It was nice to know l didnt have to worry about being a main course . Very cool experience, highly suggested by Matt and by me. read more

Bass Pro Shop is always a sight to behold. At this location you're greeted by large Alligators and you exit to wild Boars. The store has a lot of great displays and interesting items to see. My wife wanted some hiking shoes for an upcoming trip. We made it to the shoe section and she found a pair that she wanted to try on. There was no help to be found. After searching the store to no avail, I asked a cashier how to get some help in the shoe department. She was able to page someone and help arrived shortly thereafter. My wife tried on the shoes and $150.00 later, she had her hiking footwear. I should also add that this store gives a 10% discount to military and 1st Responders. Overall, this is a great place to do business and not far from getting a "5" on my next visit. read more

It's so much fun shopping at Bass Pro Shop! I ended up with three new lids. However, we went there to check out boats, the google photo shows they have a parking lot full of them but they only had two. We were disappointed with that as we drove quite far to get there. Other than boats, they have tons of stuff to look at. Clothes, hats, bags, boots, crocks, and guns. There are some alligators outside to see, as well as hogs. I know I've reviewed a few locations of Bass Pro in Miami and Orlando, and generally the service is solid. Here, the service is a little spotty, they are often staffed less than the bigger city locations. However they've really upped their game in terms of in-store stock recently from everything from fishing gear, ammo, food, and clothing. Don't shop here. I was told that by two of their employees who work the sunglass hut desk that I could have them order a pair of sunglasses from another sunglass hut, and purchase at their store. Combined, I spent an hour and a half at their desk only to be told that they could not actually sell me the pair I ordered after they told me I could come pick them up. The desk manager only wanted to remind me how far she was past her shift. When I asked the bass pro store manager to make it right, she totally disavowed the Sunglass Outfitters shop. Driving 30 mins to the Palm Bay store to buy a reel I called ahead to make sure was in stock. It was Penn F_III 6000. When I arrived it was in stock, on the display rod. I still wanted to purchase. I had a fishing trip planned tomorrow. I told the guy to go ahead and box it up and that I need to get some other terminal tackle. I returned roughly 5 minutes later to pick up the reel and have all my items rung up. I left the store driving 30 minutes home and arrived to put line on my reel. I open the box to find the head of the reel has been taken off, the handle was taken off, and the handle cap had been removed, is missing and it is not inside the box. Somewhat frustrated and completely unsure of why the Reel was taken apart I called the store. I spoke with Nikki who understood my frustrations and because I was so far away she took down my name and phone number and told me that when I come back into the store that she will "take care of you for all your inconvenience" which I read as her offering some kind of gesture... perhaps gift card(?). She also said she would have the part ready and leave notes for anyone to understand what I needed if I came in when she wasn't there. I arrived at 6:30pm today and stood in front of returns while the young lady behind the counter chatted with with another young male associate, never noticing I was there. After another young man finally arrived he went and got Caleb a team leader to assist me. He couldn't seem to understand and thought it to be a minimal problem for someone to drive an hour round-trip. I let him know what Nikki said, I'm in "the book" He grabbed my receipt, flipped his hair at me(?) and walked away, disappearing out of sight. He was very condescending. I just needed the part and anything Nikki may have left to "take care of me" (her words). He returned only to once again walk away. After returning for the 4th time he said his manager was coming to speak with me. She never did. You'd think that after being told I would have the part ready when I arrive this interaction would be 5 mins tops. Nope. 25 mins later and still no part, no "book" with my name or information about yesterday's conversation, and the fact the manager, Courtney, didn't have the skills or ability solve and keep a long time customer. Please take the cap off a display combo so I can be on my way (an idea Nikki had). After no progress and just a complete bumble of... Nikki isn't answering her phone, etc. I finally just asked for a refund. I wanted to speak with Sr Team Leader Courtney and walked towards her. She didn't care. I got my money back and I wasn't her problem anymore. She stood there with her hands in her pockets, shrugged her shoulders and kept eye contact with Caleb during our whole conversation. Looking uninterested in what I was saying ... the only time I believed she listened is When I said "you don't care, I can see that in your body language" she replied "I didn't say that". We had met our son in the parking lot of the Palm Bay Bass Pro shop had to leave truck on Sunday morning so we could go to church then do some Christmas shopping at pro Bass when we were finished at church. Much to our dismay when we got back to the parking lot the truck was missing. My son had park as far away from building as possible to be out of the way . He went into the store yesterday afternoon and asked assistant manager if they had towed it. Assistant said they did not tow any cars away and insisted on it. Come to find out next day the manager Vance Boyd said he called it in to tow. It was towed at 9 AM same day. He was not nice about it and had no reason to tow it. My brother had bought a minelab manticore metal detector and just could not justify 2000 dollars on a very limited part- time hobby. When we went to customer service the customer service lead on sunday of April 14 2024 between the time frame of 10:00 Am and 10:15 Am had told us they would not be returning the item for the simple fact that it had been opened up and tried out and had told us that they Don't except open items even with his sales receipt from a couple days prior to this unfortunate experience. frustrated I had turned to my brother and told him to please stop buying items from them because I had admonished him that they were going to give you a very difficult time. The customer service lead would not let me even talk she would constantly interrupt me as I tried to explain to her how frustrated I was with the item. I then told her If I had lied to them about whether it was even turned on that they would have taking it back but since I'm just being honest about taking it out of the box I get penalized for that. She did not care how me or my brother felt about the situation period!!! and just looked me right in the face and said Yeah we're not going to do it for you and I said okay that's fine I'll call corporate and speak to the DM and which I'm in the process of Now.Please beware guys that this location is notorious for doing things like this not just myself. if you do purchase anything from them. Customer service is excellent! Manny and Linda in the service department are kind and took time to explain everything to us as we are first time boat owners. They even taught us how to take care of our engine. And Chuck inside was also very helpful and showed us a variety of choices with fiah finders and gave us excellent tips. My review is to part. One, to address store staff, product selection and quality, cleanliness etc. Second, a few poor reviews that are unjustified because some patrons are morons who couldn't find their own bathrooms. The store is always clean, shelves and clothing are neat and tidy. (can't say the same for Walmart huh). Staff is always well presentable in appearance. Even if I don't require assistance I've noticed that they will stop and inquire. What impresses me is if they aren't working the department I'm in, they'll still stop and ask in passing. Always friendly and down to earth. Note of manners to patrons... Don't be a snob to these people as I've observed customers treating em. Be overly nice and respectful in the same manner you expect em to be with you and your experience will be that much more enjoyable. Also, in doing so Problems will be resolved quicker and satisfactory. Pricing, complain all you want about competitive pricing. I've read people complaining about $7 increase on lures than on Amazon. Whoop dee do. Even factoring in your Amazon prime fees some of your $7 diffence is used. Then you have to wait for delivery. If you want to wait to save $3, go ahead. Just stop whining already. Some things are definitely more pricey than say Academy sports. But there's a simple cavet.... HAVE YOU COMPARED THE Exteriors and interiors of the stores? At Bass pro you're paying for the shopping experience, all those taxidermy displays, the aquarium, gator hole and pig stye don't come cheap. Shall I mention what it costs to maintain these areas, feed the critters and Vet bills? One review complained about the fishing department kiosk always being void of staff. Did you bother walking the isles? These people have other duties to perform other than standing behind the counter waiting for you to show up. They stock isles, handle phone calls and help other customers find stuff. They even get lunch and break times, so again stop yer whining. Every time I've gone in they were either behind the counter working on something, elsewhere stocking or busy helping customers. Sometimes they're taking a needed break away from some of the idiots that show up being difficult. I can't attest to the gun department. Generally I won't buy a firearm from em simply because they are pricey. I can still find what I want at local mom and pop shops for a lil less and I prefer to support such shops (some have free coffee, ;-) I've been to other Bass pros in the country but I like this one the best. It's a more down to earth experience. My one and only complaint about Bass Pro shops AS A HOLE is if I'm looking online too see if they stock a particular product at my store, the "in stock" accounting is poorly accurate. One time they said they had plenty, shelf was empty. Another item was out of stock online, but plenty on the shelves. read more

The hunting department is horrible. I went there numerous times within the last couple of months and honest the truth, my experience with them is very unpleasant. There are only two people who were actually nice to me, one was the older lady and one was a young skinny gentleman. They both were very helpful. But the rest of the crew either rude, lies, or ignores you. They seemed to hate their job and don't want to be there. Now, the other departments are wonderful except for the hunting department. Unless they change their attitude towards their customers, that would be the last time I'll ever invest at Bass Pro Shop in Palm Bay. So, this is bass pro, nothing special other than SOME of the people are super helpful if you can find anyone. The fly tying area is ALWAYS empty and the work area near the fishing area is usually empty. Prices are easily beaten on-line or down the road at Academy Sports or Harry Goodes (for fly gear), but some sale prices can be very good. If you need something right away, then stop in and grab it. Otherwise, you can beat the prices elsewhere with not much effort. read more

I have been to one other Bass Pro shop. The other one down south was much bigger. For being in Palm Bay its pretty amazing place. But really not a place where I would shop very often. The price of Bows, guns and ammo was all pretty high. Now, lets consider inventory, they have a huge amount compared to our local Gun stores. Targets and all kinds of great stuff. The taxidermy stuff is very cool to look at. The fish tank well, I was not impressed but you know it is BIG cant hate on that. The only reason I give the store less than 5 star is their prices. Very high! They have great beef jerky season and area, they have country food area. All really good stuff but price is just WAY to high. read more

I wouldn't order anything online. They over order items and don't track them well. I ordered kayaks and once they became 2 weeks overdue I emailed them. Whatever happened to good customer service? Tried calling this location several times on the phone. The menu just keeps putting you back to the beginning. And no one will ever answer the phone so that you can check on product availability. Then drove to the store to purchase a handgun they said they had in stock online. Once we got to the store we ask a young lady in the service desk to look up a SKU for us to let us know if it was in stock in the store before we waited in the hour long line for the gun section. She refused saying she couldn't do it. That is a complete lie online it told me they had two in stock of what I was looking for. All I want is for the service desk person to verify it for me but she refused. What lousy customer service. Then we waited in the gun line for an hour which was getting about a hour wait. We have many people behind us also. We were lucky enough to get through before the lead of the apartment Becky refused to help anybody on the computer. After that. It would've been nice for her to walk the line of people waiting to tell them that in person instead of just a couple of times were nobody could hear her telling people that she was shutting off the computers at seven no matter what. I, along with other customers found her to be very rude and abrasive toward the customers and she had many customers that left there extremely mad and unhappy. It was very disappointing. And the gun department is understaffed to properly serve their customers. I hope they make some improvements. read more

Bass pro is okay to go and look, but the prices are very high, and the emphasis is on clothing. The clothing is thin and not competitively priced. The hunting camo is either very cheaply made store brand, or brand name that is overpriced. Sales on Black Friday are sometimes pretty good. If you find something here, chances are it's about 30% higher than Academy a mile away. I come here to look, go to Academy to buy. The gun selection is good, but again, priced high. read more

We drove all the way up from Vero Beach to purchase beginner fishing rod and reel kits. We are both laid off from Covid 19 and wanted something inexpensive and beginner quality To pass the time. I research anything I buy before purchase and found Shakespeare catch more fish kit for 39.99. Perfect!! I've never been fishing and he hasn't been in years. We found them and asked Kevin, the salesman his thoughts. I've never been treated so rudely in my life. I left the store empty handed in a severe anxiety attack because of how he spoke to me and my boyfriend. He immediately told us that the kit was not good and took us over to professional rods that were 79.99 and up. He said I can sell you thousand of dollars worth of fishing gear as he walked us over to another section. Being out of work, it's just not in our budget nor do we know anything about fishing in the first place. He kept asking us what we were going to fish from pier, inlet, or surf. Aggressively, he kept getting annoyed and raising his voice at us when we said we are just beginners. He kept asking how much we were going to fish, where, when. We repeatedly answered it's just for leisure and how much have we fished in the past. He had the nerve to say I don't care about your past I need to know about now. He was rambling off things about 3000, 4000, 5000 which is foreign language to us and when we kept trying to tell him that he got belittling and condescending. By this point I was in such a panic Attack I just walked out of the store. I'm devastated. He never wanted to help us. He just wanted to up sell us on poles 2-3xs as much as we could afford to spend and made us both feel like idiots. How does one take you from a 40 dollar kit to poles 79-well over a hundred plus plus plus all the other things to buy. It's bad enough we were unexpectedly laid off..but to be treated like this.
